This—this river is… what’s the name?
Wow. Who is this man? Absolutely magical. [Music]
Wow, it’s like 6:20 and I’m already sweating. Hey,
just wait for this bad boy to come up. Yes, the good old sun giving us another day of sweat.
This is our lovely nighttime security, looking   after Shanti and Mowgli.
Goodbye, thank you. Very flexible, my love. Did you notice
I did a bit of yoga in your sleep?  Yeah—Shana sana. That’s the sleeping pose.
Did I just bump into you? Yes, you did. Get out of my way. Bye-bye,
thank you, thank you. Have a good day. Yes, yes, yes, yes. No—no coming
back now. Go Ladakh! Woo! Good, everything is working this morning.
Wait… am I working this morning? [Music]
Good morning, world.   Welcome back to the channel. It’s ride number
32 on our motorcycle adventure here in India. Yes, and we’re here on the streets of Mumbai. We
are back from our brief holiday and a successful visa run, and that means we now have 90
days more—allowed and approved by the Indian government—to stay here in India
and finish our journey to Leh, Ladakh. Yes, that’s amazing.
Oh—coming, I’m coming. Yeah, but anyway—so yes, it was a successful
visa run, and now it is time to hit the road again for what I’m calling the
second half of our trip across India. Mumbai is basically the halfway point, because
I looked up our odometer from the first ride, and we’ve actually ridden 4,000 km since
we left Kanyakumari. And I’ve estimated that we’ve got about 3 to 4,000 km to
go to get to the end of the journey.  How many people are going to
stop at this red light? Nobody. Literally.
Ah, he’s stopping… no he’s not. Yeah, it feels like the red light
doesn’t mean anything. I mean—it’s   quite clear—red is like, “Stop. Stop, guys.”
Everybody is still going. Everybody. But they sort of… sometimes they hesitate and they
know it’s wrong—oh, green! But then they sort of   look around and they go, “What am I waiting for?
What am I waiting for—other than the red light?” Anyway, we are ready to take
on the second half of India.  So let me show you guys where we’re heading today.
So we are here in Mumbai, and today we will be riding to the holy city of Nasik to experience
an enchanting ritual known as Goda Arti. Yes, we are heading out of the big city and
heading to a historical city. Nasik is a holy and spiritual place.
Oh my Lord… These guys are on a red light as well, by the way.
Okay—survived. So yes, it’s about a 165-kilometre ride today, and
Google Maps says it will take us four hours. It’s already 6:30, so better hit the road. Let’s go.
[Music] So what does orange flashing mean, then?
I think orange flashing just means   you can go, but be very careful.
Because a school bus will cross in front of you. Yeah, but a school bus… you can go, but if a
school bus wants to go—let the school bus go. It’s crazy, though, because it feels like
literally half of Mumbai is a construction   site. I mean—they are doing some
serious road building here. Look at these overpasses. On nearly every
street we have ridden here in Mumbai, they either have an existing
overpass, or they are building one.  Which is completely understandable, because
they have so much traffic here in the city. I mean, Mumbai is actually the largest
metropolitan area in the whole of India, and it’s one of the largest metropolitan
areas in the world. They need a lot of roads.  But this here might actually be a railway, because
you can also see here that they’re building, like, a huge building above the
road—which I guess is a station.  Yeah, they have a major, major construction
project going on here. I’m really looking forward to coming back to Mumbai one day and
just seeing how much progress has been done. See all of these road works being finished
and see how futuristic the city has become.  So, it’s time for breakfast—and
look what they have here in Mumbai. Oh yes, 7-Eleven. Let’s go check out
what the Indian 7-Eleven has to offer. Oh my God—they have pizzas for
80 rupees. Pizza for breakfast. I think they literally just opened. Oh
wow, yes—we’ve arrived here at 7:01. Mhm. Oh, nice air conditioning.
So, what do they have in 7-Eleven in India? They’ve got ice cream. They’ve got—
is this more ice cream? Ice cream and sorbets. They’ve got frozen stuff, loads of sodas and
cans, and all kinds of stuff here. Look at this. And actually, it’s also like a small grocery
store as well. You’ve pretty much got all the essentials—noodles and snacks, toiletries.
But this is what we’re here for: the food. So they’ve got sandwiches, some sort of chicken
strips, and a little chicken bun. Some meal bowls like a biryani, wraps.
Hello, good morning. And over here—more snacks, more sandwiches. And
if you look at the prices, guys, everything is really, really, really cheap. Like literally
30 rupees for a potato bun. And then coffee is also pretty cheap—105 for a cappuccino. That’s
just under a pound. Not bad, 7-Eleven. Not bad. I think I’ll take a cheesy and egg sandwich.
A cheese and egg? Which one is that? Double egg and cheese.
Double egg and cheese? Oh,   but there’s only one. We can share. We can
take one with chicken and ham—cheese and ham? Mhm, okay. One this one, this—and then we share?
Yeah, go on then.  Okay, okay—one ham and cheese
sandwich, one double egg and cheese, one cappuccino.
Okay, thank you.  I actually just saw that they
have toilets here, so I was like, “Okay, I’ll take a cappuccino as well.”
Seventy p for a cheese sandwich, guys. It’s a small shop, but it really has everything.
This is not an advert for 7-Eleven, by the way. Thank you. Bye-bye.
Is it just me, or does it feel   like it’s already 2 degrees warmer?
Two? I think more like five. Oh, and now we’ve got some sunlight—I can show
you guys our newly washed bikes. But not only did we have the bikes washed, we also took them
for a service while we were here in Mumbai. Our first service since starting the trip. And I was
a little bit worried that there would be a whole lot of stuff to do—but it wasn’t that bad.
I got a new clutch lever put in after that little unfortunate incident.
Okay, it was too much. And we both had new brake pads put in the rear
wheel. We both had new clutch plates put in, actually—which I didn’t realise we would have
to do. But anyway, the mechanic told us that he thought we should replace them, so we did.
So, on my bike, I had an oil leak—and this was apparently because the top here wasn’t screwed on
properly. So they just tightened the screws there. And something was apparently
wrong with your steering?  Oh yeah, a bearing inside the steering column.
And of course, we had an oil change, spark plug change as well.
I think they are ready to go for   the second part of our journey now.
Yeah, I mean—after 4,000 km, I think these bikes have done pretty well.
Anyway, we told the guy where we had to   get to and he said these bikes are good
to go. So he thinks we’re going to make it—and he’s a mechanic, so I’m happy with that.
Almost forgot—I got a new seat. I was complaining to Minaj, I was saying, “Oh, my bum is always
hurting, do you think I can get like a cover or something to make it a bit softer?” And he
was like, “We’ve got here the rally seat.” Now, if you compare it to Lavi’s one—so Lavi’s
seat kind of goes down like this—and then compare it with this one, this one is basically
just flat, which means there is a whole   lot of extra padding here.
And look at this—yep, yep, yep—I’ve got a whole lot more padding.
Anyway, so the bikes are fresh and ready to go. Yes, and we’ve also had our breakfast and
a coffee, so we are fresh and ready to go. Let’s go.
[Music] We have a lot of people dressed in white
walking on the highway here. Look at that. Where are they going to?
Oh wow, I can hear some music. [Music]
Oh yes. Nice.
Yeah,   it wouldn’t be a day in India
without a procession, hey? Cool.
[Music] There’s definitely a temple
up there—a temple on wheels.  Oh yeah, look—they’re carrying a shrine.
[Music] A tiny bit chaotic in the morning.
[Music] And then you’ve just got a truck
full of speakers. Wow, look at that. [Music]
Oh, and this looks   like… this looks like the temple on wheels.
Wa—look at that! That’s cool. Nice. Really cool. But there we go—we’ve had our first
procession of the day, and it’s not even 8:00. Yes. Wow.
Yep—India is full of life, 24/7. [Music]
We made it safely out of Mumbai. Yeah, we are finally starting to get out onto
a bit of a faster highway. Look at that—my speed is 80 kilometres an hour.
Wa—85 km an hour. Oh, we are flying along now. Woohoo!
Oh—somebody lost a shoe. But it’s pretty challenging here on the highways,
because actually the slow trucks are staying on the right, as you can see here—which is not the
correct side at all. And that would be okay if all the trucks just did the same thing—but they don’t.
Because then, this truck in front is here on the   left. So pretty much the trucks are just in either
lane—and unofficially, that is the motorbike lane. So yeah, the highways here
are an interesting place. We are halfway now through our journey
for today, and we thought we would treat   ourselves to a nice little snack break.
So we decided to go for Sabudana—is this right? Sabudana—which is actually…
Oh thank you, thank you, thank you. …which is actually cassava pearls. And I
think “pearls” because if I’m cutting this here, you can see the little balls—and
they actually look like pearls. Can you actually see them?
Sort of. Yeah, you can see it’s made up of little balls.
Yeah—little balls here. And this is just so good because it’s deep
fried and then you have it with a yoghurt sauce. That’s so delicious. Oh, and you know what?
There are peanuts inside as well—I can taste the peanuts. And obviously, some chili as well.
Look at those valley views ahead. Don’t know if you guys can see all the hills
in the background—the Western   Ghats mountains rising up from the fog.
And after spending quite a bit of time in the city, that is quite nice to see. And
it feels really good to be back on the road, getting out of the city, and making
some progress on this journey to Ladakh. Oh, here we go.
Oh no—it looks like this truck is hitting the wall.
Jesus—got a bit of a truck slalom going on up this hill.
Look—this truck’s trying to get around this truck. Oh no—and this truck’s broken down as well.
Yeah, I just wish that the trucks would just stick to one side, because you can see—the slow truck
here is on the right side, and then just up ahead you’ve got another gas tanker on the left side.
Come on, guys—just pick a side. Yeah, like I said—truck slalom.
I think now… it’s definitely a jam here—when two lanes become three lanes. Ah, okay—another broken-down truck.
2,000 years
later… it looks like our highway adventure for the day is finally over.
Thank you, National
Highways Authority of India—that was pretty terrifying.
Anyway, we did it, and it is currently
12:00 and 33°.
We are at peak temperature now and we just have 3.3 km to battle our way into
the center of the city—sorry, to our hotel. 🎵 [Music]
Oh wow, look at   this roundabout.
So, this city—Nashik—is home
to 1.5 million people, which sounds very big, but compared to Mumbai, it’s actually pretty
small.
This is known as the wine capital of India, because apparently, more than half of the wines
produced in India are made in this region.
And I know India is not really well known for wine,
but apparently, you can get good wine here. Oh man, do they install
indicators on the cars here? But this city is also incredibly
historic and spiritually significant.
It is one of the four locations where the
sacred Kumbh Mela festival is held, and that is actually the same festival that
happened very recently in Prayagraj.
The festival is held every 12 years and changes
locations—and Nashik is one of those locations. The name Nashik actually means “nose”—and
that also holds spiritual significance, because that comes from the Ramayana.
The
story goes that here, on the banks of the   River Godavari that runs through the city,
Lakshmana cut off the nose of the demon Shurpanakha.
I don’t know if I’m pronouncing
those correctly, guys, so be gentle—but that   is why the city is called Nashik—”nose.”
Thumbs up from Lavi.
This definitely looks like the main street of the city—this street
is busy!
Oh no, I’m stuck behind the bus now. Oh wow, look at this park here.
That looks
nice.
Looks like a pleasant city here actually.
Totally.
🎵 [Music] Perfect—this is the building right
here.
There are a lot of bikes parked outside the front.
Oh my goodness.
Good afternoon, guys—we made it.
Happy and alive.
Happy and alive—wow.
That
was a hectic ride, and I’m so relieved that we made it here to this nice place in one
piece.
Because taking the highway is definitely not my favorite road.
Tomorrow we will try to take
the smaller road again.
Yeah, it’s been full on. The room is really nice.
Check that out—we have
a very nice and big bed.
They made like a small kitchen area here as well with the kettle, which
is really cool.
And then here’s our bathroom. Ollie is just loading the footage.
🎵 [Music] How many gigs today did we shoot?
It’s not all imported yet, but 131 gig at the moment.
I think with
what I’m putting in now, maybe 160–170. That’s too much if you ask me.
What did
we film?
I have no idea.
I don’t know.  You guys will have seen it—you just
saw it.
So anyway—whatever that was, that was 160 gigs’ worth.
But anyway, I’m
just going to finish importing this footage   and then we’re going to go outside
and check out the city of Nashik, get something to eat, and then go down to the
river for something really special tonight. Hello.
Hello, hi.
🎵 [Music] Thank you.
That’s okay.
Thank you, thank you.
Bye.
Oh wow, Ollie—look at this.
Oh yeah—wow.
That is some apparatus for some serious
cooking.
Jesus—they are absolutely massive. I mean, my dad prides himself on
his wok, but Dad—this is a wok. Okay, there’s supposed to be a restaurant here.
We
checked one on Google Maps and it had quite good reviews.
I don’t even know where it is.
What do you want?
The Kayaka.
Oh, this one?
Okay—this one.
Oh, but they’re not open.
Oh,   these are the guys doing paratha, right?
Hello, hello doggy. Hi, hello.
Hi, hello—are you open?
No actually, it’s closed today.
Okay. I was not here—I was out of
the town.
Oh, I see.
Okay,   okay.
No problem.
Thank you—that’s okay.
Oh wow, look at this street, guys.
Beautiful. Anyway, we’re just walking down the road
looking for any place that’s open to eat. Do they have food?
Nope—they have
tires.
They have tires.
Can we eat tires? From England.
England?
Yes, yeah.  This is the Godavari?
This—this
river—what’s the name? Godavari.
Godavari?
Godavari.
Okay.
Oh wow.
7:30 p.m.—where are you?
7, 7:30 p.m is here.
Attend where the Aarti here.
God? Okay.
So, we’re watching from here?
You know, you can sit.
You come, come
this way.
You can sit near God. Okay.
Those—your friends?
We—we married.
Married?
Are you guys married?
No, I’m single.
I am single.
Single?
I single.
You are a student?
Oh, you’re a student.
Okay, okay—even better.
Pharmacy?
Pharmacy student?
Oh, pharmacy student.
Okay.
You’re from   Nashik or…?
I am from Uttar Pradesh.
Oh, Uttar Pradesh.
Kashi—you know about? Fragrance?
Yes.
And this place also does next—next
year.
Next year, this is the place they’re going   to do the next one.
Ah, wow.
This is a beautiful place.
This is a beautiful place.
What is the name for   this place?
Ramkund.
Ramkund?
Ramkund.
Ramkund.
Okay, so we’re here in Ramkund—and this is the Godavari River?
Godavari.
Okay.
And
this is a holy place?
Yes, yes. Do they have, as well,
places to eat here?
Yes, yes.  How many time you live in India?
Very nice.
We’re staying in India for 6 months.
6 months?
Yes.
Very old.
We—we have motorbikes, motorcycles.
And we’re riding across India with motorcycles.
Good.
Yes—from Tamil Nadu to Ladakh.
Great.
Oh wow, look at this.
What—what is this
place?
This is a temple.
Okay.
This is a temple. Beautiful.
You just go in this side—go on that
side.
In this other side.
Other side?
Okay. We go.
Only—uh—many things in eat.
Okay, many
things to eat here.
Eat here?
Okay.
Okay, so we go here now to eat something?
Eat
something.
Okay, we go this way.
Okay.
Thank   you.
Thank you guys—really nice to meet you.
Nice
to meet you.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you. All right—we see you later.
Okay, bye-bye.
Okay, so the guys just told us that there is going to be a ritual performed just behind us here
tonight at 7:30.
I think they call it an Aarti, and I think it’s a puja—a blessing—right
here on the banks of this holy river. 🎵 [Music]
Open for food?
Okay,   thank you.
Yeah, I think it’s open for food.
Okay,
I don’t know what food, but they have food.
Nice. Cool—we’ve chosen something, guys.
The only things
they do here—we had no choice actually, the menu was useless—they do noodles, and they do lollipop
chicken, which is basically like marinated fried chicken.
So I’m actually pretty excited for that.
And check out over here—this is a picture from, I assume, Kumbh Mela here in Nashik.
This
is the same place we just walked through, and look how many people there are.
Crazy.
Okay—oh thank you.
Thank you—awesome, awesome.
Nice, nice.
Oh, I’m
so looking forward to that. Good flavor?
Good flavor.
Good flavor.
Oh my god—it’s all chili!
That’s why the food is so spicy, guys.
There’s a whole
mountain of chilies—wow, that’s amazing. Who is this man?
You see the film
Sholay?
Bollywood film?
Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar.
Okay.
And he was the villain in
that film.
He was the villain—Gabbar.
Gabbar?
So he’s the villain—wow.
Like this?
Oh wow. I see, I see.
So going around the street—yes.
Wow.
🎵 [Music] Oh, we saw the picture—and all
the people were standing here. Nice.
It’s a beautiful scene
here.
Magical.
Absolutely magical. 🎵 [Music] On a trip now?
Hello.
Yes.
Okay.
Whole
India.
And we—with the motorcycles.
Motorcycles. You’re from Nashik?
No, I’m from
Aurangabad.
Aurangabad?
Okay. Yes—we go to Aurangabad after.
Okay.
So, which places do you want to visit   there?
We’re going to visit Ellora Caves.
We
want to visit Lonar Lake.
Okay.
Ajanta as well.
Ajanta?
Okay—yes, yes.
So, all the nice.  And you can also visit Virul something
and Kulwad.
Okay—nice places.
Yes, they’ve got also—there are so many nice places.
Okay, nice.
We stay with our friend—his name is Omar.
He’s from Aurangabad.
He lives in
Aurangabad?
He lives—he lives in Aurangabad.  Okay, yes.
Yes—I’m visiting
for the second time here.
Okay. Very nice, very nice.
How many days you are—
Uh,
we’re just staying one day here.
Tomorrow: Aurangabad.
Yes.
Happy journey.
Thank
you so much.
Thank you—nice to meet you. It’s really nice actually, because they’ve made
a diversion from the main river, and they’ve made like this man-made area, which is basically the
perfect place for just bathing, dipping, blessing. So there we go, guys—what a beautiful way
to end this day.
What a beautiful place.
And opposite us here, just over there, is
where they’re going to be doing the   puja—offering the Aarti to the river.
So
we will just relax here and just observe all the beautiful things happening here.
I mean, there’s so much going on—it’s   incredible.
And that’s it from us today.
We
hope you enjoyed the video.

  7. My hometown 🤍
Hopefully you came via Kasara Ghat, such a fun ride 😍 If you’ve got time, check out:
🛕 Gondeshwar Temple – peaceful, ancient, and super underrated
🪨 Pandav Leni – short climb with epic views and caves

Trimbak’s nice but always crowded unless you hit it early.

If you're heading Aurangabad side, def visit Kailasa Temple – it’s epic. Roads from Nashik are just okay (rideable, not smooth). You can also stop at Gondeshwar Temple on the way — it's just 30 km from Nashik and totally worth it.

  8. Not sure how you decided to explore in this kind of rainy weather…bit concerned 🥲

  9. just an observation from the truck drivers point of view. He is trying to stay as far away as possible from the stream of motorcycles on the left that like to weave in between traffic and also brake check the trucks.

  10. Why you guys always pick shady hotels though 👉🏻👈🏻 if you are getting good deals then all fine but usually upto 2.2k you could opt for better hotels if prebooked

    lol though – lot's of love 🤍

  11. The last word they said was " Vishwa ka " which means for world and the people scream in chorus means " kalyan ho " which mean May there be welfare of the whole world which was so sweet lovely hope we all do it .

  12. Please try get gondeshwar temple while going to Kailash temple 👉🏻👈🏻 if possible

    Very underated but worth visiting
You could promote it to boost tourism – but I'm glad then it's less explored n less crowded

  13. Flashing signals are usually for late nights or early mornings so that people dont have to unnecessarily stop for too long when there's practically no traffic

  14. 16:41. 🙂 Thank you NHAI 🙂 Indian highways are indeed a nightmare with those trucks especially and total chaos. Shameful

  15. Hola L&O,

    Another terrific episode in India.

I don't know how you ever get used to the traffic, but you handled it like pros.

I'm glad you had a chance to get the bikes checked out. You've been on them for a while now.

I'm enjoying your travels and look forward to watching the rest.

Safe and happy travels. See you in the next one.

    Lots of love, Sue ❤❤❤

    Happy and alive!
