ghost of Tsushima shrine says enough a popular shrine on Tsushima Island made famous by the game Ghost of Tsushima has recently banned all tourists from visiting photographing or even accessing the site according to several news platform a foreigner visitor committed a grave and unforgivable act of disrespect on March 22nd although all news platforms did not mention what happened the shrine official social media account states that a tourist from South Korea assaulted physically a staff shrine on that day the shrine has been dealing with many entitled tourists who have been smoking littering spitting and even steeling from this sacred site perhaps the shrine’s previous attempts to ban foreign tourists and receive many negative reactions the recent announcement makes specific mention that no tourists applies to Japanese travelers as well however a ban on tourists would be difficult at the moment if not impossible many Japan’s largest and famous shrines have admission gates but this shrine currently don’t have it remember be respect

  1. It is absolutely deplorable that people would act in a way that defiles a graveyard and temple. I am an American and I fully support the ban on tourism in shinto shrines to protect their hostorical and cultural significance to the people of tushima and japan. I hope the staff member is okay and that the peace of the shrin resorted.

  2. I really can’t stand how many tourists treat the places they visit. It’s upsetting that people who genuinely want to see certain sights may not be able to because of how ignorant some of the people are

  3. I’ve dreamed of coming to Japan …. I’ve studied hard to learn the language and customs. I worry about making anyone upset, my social anxiety demands I do everything in my power to blend in!
    At this point….
    I feel by the time. My dream is realized, I won’t be able to go anywhere….
