夜桜🌸千鳥ヶ淵ぐるり一周🌙穴場の暗闇へも小冒険🌸東京お花見散歩03[東京・千鳥ヶ淵 Insta360 AcePro2 × PureVideoPlus 撮影]

Chidorigafuchi is one of Japan’s most famous cherry blossom viewing spots. Last time we introduced Chidorigafuchi during the day when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, but this time we will introduce the illuminated cherry blossoms at night. Chidorigafuchi Greenway, where a fantastic world of cherry blossoms at night unfolds. This is a special walking path that appears only on spring nights. The cherry blossoms that emerge from the darkness look completely different from those during the day. This time, we will take you on a walk through the tranquil and beautiful scenery of cherry blossoms at night. And this time, we went a little further and stopped by Kitanomaru Park, on the other side of the illuminations. If Chidorigafuchi Greenway is “moving,” Kitanomaru Park is “quiet.” This is a night cherry blossom spot that sits quietly in the dark, known only to those in the know. We will also guide you to “another world of cherry blossoms” that appears in the darkness. The onions at the Budokan are shining. The first spot to see cherry blossoms at night is Kitanomaru Park. Chidorigafuchi as seen from the Tayasumon Gate. Chidorigafuchi is lit up from sunset to 9pm to coincide with the blooming of the cherry blossoms. Today is the last day of the cherry blossom night illumination in 2025. I quickly adjusted my schedule to come on the last day of the light-up to see the capabilities of the new Insta360 AcePro2 action camera, which is said to be strong in dark places! The AcePro2 has a low-light shooting mode called “PureVideo” that improves brightness and detail while reducing noise. When shooting in 16:9/4K30fps, there is also “PureVideoPlus” which takes even clearer images. So I decided to shoot with “PureVideoPlus”. The cherry blossoms floating in the night sky are truly fantastic and striking. Even though they are illuminated, it’s amazing how vivid the cherry blossoms and trees are. Is this the true power of the AcePro2? The illuminated cherry blossom tunnel at night is truly fantastic. This is the observation deck on the roof of the management building at Chidorigafuchi Boating Center. You can see Kitanomaru Park on the opposite bank of Chidorigafuchi. Yes. After this, we’ll go around and go to the other side. Over there, we can see cherry blossoms lit up with purple lights. It has a mysterious atmosphere. Let’s go a little closer. Huh? The cherry blossoms that were purple a moment ago have now turned pink. Wow. The lighting has changed color. I see. So that’s what it means. This is the innermost part of the Chidorigafuchi Greenway. Just as I was getting used to it, the color changed a bit…maybe it was some creative design. Now, the Metropolitan Expressway is in sight. We’re almost at the end of Chidorigafuchi Greenway. After this, we’ll finally arrive at Kitanomaru Park. Let’s take a walk around it. This is the Chidorigafuchi intersection, where Uchibori-dori and Daikancho-dori cross. What you can see now is Chidorigafuchi. On the other side of the Metropolitan Expressway Central Circular Route is the Chidorigafuchi Greenway, which we just walked along. On the south side of Daikancho Street is Hanzo Moat. To the left of the moat is the Imperial Palace. Beyond Hanzo Moat you can see the National Diet Building and Tokyo Tower. Walk east along Daikancho Street, heading for Kitanomaru Park. You can see a small staircase. There is a sign. It looks like you can go to Kitanomaru Park from here. Let’s go up these stairs. It’s dark. There’s no lighting here. Let’s try brightening it a bit with image processing. The image quality is rough, but it’s brighter now. The brightness has been restored. So, let’s move forward in this darkness. This is Daikancho Street. It runs between Kitanomaru Park and the Imperial Palace. This is where the runners for the Imperial Palace Run run. Those are cherry blossoms that change color with the lighting. A Western-style brick building with a strong presence comes into view. This is the former Imperial Guard Division Headquarters, an important cultural property. It was built in 1910 (Meiji 43), and survived the Great Kanto Earthquake and World War II. It’s a rare example of Meiji-era Western-style architecture that still retains the atmosphere of the time. Let’s go up the small staircase. It’s hard to see in the dark, but there is a bronze statue here. This is a bronze statue of Prince Kitashirakawa Yoshihisa. He was a member of the imperial family from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period, and was an army officer. Finally, we enter the central area of Kitanomaru Park. During the day, it is a peaceful and comfortable walking path surrounded by greenery. At night, the silence deepens and a sense of loneliness hangs in the air. The light of the street lamps in the distance accentuates this silence. A bench stands alone beneath the dimming street lamp light. There’s no one here now. We leave the street lamp lit road and enter a road deeper into the darkness. Even with the image processing to brighten it, the road is barely visible. That’s how dark it is here. I walked up to the fence. On the other side, I can see cherry blossoms changing color. This is the Chidorigafuchi Greenway that I walked along earlier. I can barely see my feet. I’ll have to walk carefully. There’s a slightly brighter spot over there. There are chairs and tables under the streetlights here too. But there’s nobody here either. There were so many people at Chidorigafuchi Greenway, but this is a hidden gem. It’s a hidden gem, or maybe it’s just lonely, but this is like another world. It’s a little far from the cherry blossoms, but that makes it easier to enjoy this space. Away from the hustle and bustle, coming out of the darkness. It feels a bit like an adventure. This area is at the western edge of Kitanomaru Park, and is like an observation deck overlooking Chidorigafuchi. It’s open, and there are a lot of street lights. The cherry blossoms are close by around here. But the lights coming from the opposite bank are dazzling! It’s certainly dazzling! The lighting is just right for viewing from the other side. But well, it was a different view from the other side. The lights on the opposite bank illuminate the trees on this side, making this a nice walk in its own way. There are a few more people here. Let’s take a walk around here a bit. We’ve come to a place where we can see the Budokan. The Budokan stands out in the darkness of the night. Its appearance certainly has a special presence. If you’ve come this far, you’re just a short distance away from today’s starting point, the Tayasu Gate. The Tayasu Gate comes into view. This is the Tayasu Gate. The Tayasu Gate is a double-layered, square-shaped gate with strong defensive capabilities. This gate was part of the old Edo Castle and is an important cultural property. Yes. We’ve returned to today’s starting point. We walked around Chidorigafuchi and enjoyed the cherry blossoms at night. What did you think? We walked in the dark and on deserted roads along the way, but we hope you enjoyed a little adventure. That’s all for today. Thank you for watching until the end.
