【白笹稲荷神社】~渡来人「秦氏」の信仰~東末社は精霊が宿るパワースポット!

Hello everyone! This is the Tocomama Information Bureau. Today, I’m in Hadano City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Recently, I’ve been touring a lot of shrines in Kanagawa Prefecture, because I recently went on a “Six Shrines of Sagami Province Tour” from Ichinomiya to Rokunomiya , and I realized that this area has a very deep history . Suddenly, I became interested, and came here because I heard that there is a very interesting shrine in Hadano City . It’s called Shirasasa Inari Shrine , and it’s the same in the Sagami Province area, but in ancient Japan, many immigrants came here and spread industry and other things, so there is a history of that. Therefore, there are many traces of immigrants, and one of them is the very famous “Hata clan” . When you think of the “Hata clan”, you think of Kyoto, but in fact, many members of the Hata clan came to Kanagawa Prefecture! I’ve learned that. The “Hata” in “Hata City” and the “Hata Clan” are linked by the same kanji. This is not a forced link, but the shrine’s official website and the city of Hadano also introduce that the “Hata Clan” has a deep connection to this area historically . So, when I was researching, I thought that the “Hata Clan” must be Inari Shrine, and sure enough , I found an amazing shrine. So, today I would like to visit “Shirasasa Inari Shrine” located in Hadano City, which has a deep connection to the “Hata Clan”. There seem to be quite a few power spots, so I’m looking forward to it! Now I’m going up. Today I came here by car and parked my car in the parking lot. It can accommodate quite a few cars. There is a large torii gate here! I would like to proceed from here. Excuse me. On the left side of the approach to the shrine, there are a row of stone lanterns. These are donated lanterns. Each one has a name written on it. There is a map of the temple grounds here. The grounds are quite large. This is the Chozuya (purification fountain), but rather than a Chozuya, it’s more of a place that feels like water is naturally gushing out. Nice atmosphere! There are also lion-dogs and foxes here, and the natural rocky feel is nice. It’s rare! The exact date of its founding is unknown, but the ancient paddy-farming people who inhabited this area relied on water, which is essential for paddy farming , to enshrine the god of grain, Uka no Mitama, from the main shrine, Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Taisha, in this land of abundant water, which is essential for paddy farming . It is a miraculous shrine that was enshrined in Hadano. It was ancient immigrants, the Hata clan, who spread the belief in Inari . The Hata clan came to this area and believed in Inari , praying for a good harvest. This land is blessed with abundant spring water, and has been considered a pure and holy place suitable for the enshrinement. Even now, the sound of flowing water and the cries of birds echo through the grounds , with the rich nature still intact . It is said to bring benefits in all areas, including food, clothing, shelter, financial luck, arts and sciences, protection from bad directions, and transportation . The ceiling of this main shrine building is actually painted with a wonderful ceiling painting. If there is no prayer, you can go inside and view it. If you would like to view it, please let the staff at the shrine office know . There is no prayer going on right now, so I would like to go in and view the ceiling painting. It is nerve-wracking to enter the main shrine building. I will be in the middle. There is a dragon painted in the middle! It is impressive! Around it, there are auspicious patterns of mallets , treasure bags, and Inari rice ears. There is a little bit of gold dust sprinkled on it, so it is a little sparkly and very beautiful! It is wonderful! This ceiling painting was painted by the master painter Goto Yoshiyo, a leading artist in Kabuki paintings in Japan, over a period of seven years. The 150 dragon gods on the coffered ceiling, the four gods of Feng Shui, and the pictures of all the treasures are divine and worth seeing! If you have the opportunity, please do take a look! I saw the ceiling painting! It was a great opportunity to be able to enter the main shrine, but it was also a rare opportunity to see such a wonderful ceiling painting ! The dragon painting was also very impressive, so I’m glad I was able to see it. Right next to the main shrine is a place that looks like an Inari shrine. There is a road with a thousand red torii gates. I will go in that direction. It is just a little taller than me, so if you are tall, you might hit your head if you don’t bend down a little. There is a strong Inari atmosphere. Wow, it’s amazing! It’s wonderful! When you go through the thousand torii gates, there is a sign like this that says “To the East Sub -shrine”, but from here, it seems that there is a path that goes all the way around the main shrine and leads to the East Sub-shrine, so I will go in that direction. There are a thousand torii gates all the way here. It’s quite dim and cool. It’s a road with a certain atmosphere. This kind of road is very nice. Wonderful. I feel like I’m being led to a very mystical place. It reminds me of when I visited Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto during spring break, passing through the endless thousand torii gates and climbing up. I came down. There is also a shrine here. It is called “Higashimatsusha”. I will proceed from the torii gate. Excuse me. In fact, this “Higashimatsusha” is a place where the spirits of nature such as plants and trees are enshrined, and it is said to be a very miraculous power spot. Please listen to the rustling of the forest and the chirping of the birds for a while and feel the spirits that dwell in nature! The fox of “Higashimatsusha” This is a very rare fox that was made from concrete, which was first imported from England in 1872. It has long limbs and a tail, and its appearance is a little unusual. A must-see for fans of lion-dogs and foxes! I had the opportunity to pay my respects at the East Sub-shrine. It’s really a very pleasant place , with an atmosphere that makes it clear that the spirits of nature are enshrined in the midst of nature, and you can almost feel the presence of the spirits that dwell in nature . Wow! Something fell! Something fell! Oh no… what a surprise! A single nut landed right on my head! Could it be a prank by the fox? Maybe it’s playing with me… or teasing me… Maybe the spirits of nature are out there! From the East Sub-shrine, we went up towards the original main shrine building, and it seems that there was originally a “West Sub-shrine” There seems to be no West Sub-shrine anymore, but it seems that there used to be an underground tunnel leading from the East Sub-shrine to the West Sub-shrine , Apparently, that place was said to be the “pathway of the fox god.” It’s nice, it’s like Inari, and it’s nice to hear such a mysterious story. It’s not on the website , so the chief priest just told me. It really has a feeling of Inari Daimyojin. I returned to the main shrine. It felt good! The last thing I’d like to introduce is a place called “Golden Spring” that I came back to the parking lot from the main shrine in the precincts. It was in an unexpected place. There is a sign for “Golden Spring”. Actually, there is a rare “algae” in this “Golden Spring”, so I guess you could say it lives there. It certainly looks like there is a yellow film on the surface of the water. This yellow thing is a “algae” called “Hikarimo”. It is said to be very rare. It sparkles and shines. When the sunlight hits it, it reflects a little and looks golden! This “Hikarimo” appears only during a limited period of the year, from late April to November, and it is said that if you can see the “Hikarimo” spring during this period, it will lead to an increase in your fortune! It is a lucky spring, isn’t it? Indeed. I was able to see the “Golden Spring” that is said to increase your fortune, and at the end I was given a goshuin. Since I visited in May, there were May-like seals such as bamboo shoots and helmets. This Shirasasa Shrine holds an “antique flea market” on holidays and other occasions. It has been held for over 10 years with the aim of revitalizing the area, and sells a wide range of products, from paintings and pottery to antiques such as old clocks and old books, and fresh vegetables. It looks like fun. I’d like to visit it someday to look for a bargain! What did you think of Shirasasa Inari Shrine? It really had an “Inari” atmosphere, and since it is also rich in nature, it was a shrine full of the power of nature. Today, the chief priest took the time to talk to us about various things. I am truly grateful that I was able to hear about episodes and the shrine grounds that are not included in the stories about the shrine that are introduced on the official website and other places, and I am truly grateful! Thank you! Inari Shrine, located in Hadano City, which is related to the Hata clan! So, I have become even more interested in the history of ancient Japan and Kanagawa . I’m sure there are many shrines and spots where you can see traces of the shrine in the surrounding area, including Hadano City , so I would like to find such places and visit them when I have the chance. It’s about a 3-minute walk from Shirasasa Inari Shrine. The chief priest told us about a delicious restaurant. It’s a very famous udon restaurant in this area, and there it is! It’s here! There’s a sign. It says “Shirasasa Udon”. It has a really “private house” feel and a nice atmosphere. Located in a residential area behind Shirasasa Inari Shrine, this old-style udon restaurant, “Shirasasa Udon Tanaka,” is proud of its homemade noodles, which use groundwater that springs from within the premises. The restaurant is a renovated old-style house with over 100 years of history, and has a nice old-fashioned atmosphere. As you can see, the menu is extensive! There are more than 20 types of hot and cold dishes. I was at a loss as to what to order, but since it was a sweaty day, I decided to have a refreshing cold udon. Suddenly, I saw this… an “oden corner.” You can’t go wrong with this! So, “cold udon with plum and grated yam” garnished with bonito flakes. The oden is made with daikon radish and satsumaage! Looks delicious! Let’s eat! The noodles are homemade, using spring water from within the premises! The finest udon noodles, created with spring water from Hadano , are chewy and chewy! They go down easy and are delicious! Next, I poured on a generous amount of the bonito flakes that came with it… The udon soup stock with a plum flavor was also very delicious, and when I added the bonito flakes… The umami of the plum and soup stock was further enhanced by the umami of the bonito flakes, and it was very delicious! If you want to feel even more refreshed , you can change the flavor even more by adding vinegar. This refreshing feeling is perfect for the hot and humid season! Now, it’s time to eat the specialty oden. This beveled daikon radish is soaked in broth! You can feel the softness! Then I added mustard miso to it , and as soon as I put it in my mouth, the melting daikon radish and the broth that seeped out were so delicious! Most people enjoyed the udon and oden set. This is a udon restaurant with delicious broth, and the oden is also delicious. It was a restaurant worth making the trip to even if it was far away!
