【女ひとり旅】知覧特攻平和会館と武家屋敷を歩く 特攻隊の歴史を学ぶ祈りの旅 鹿児島知覧観光

Kagoshima Chiran Trip Good morning. April 2025 Narita Airport. I’m off to Kagoshima for 2 nights and 3 days! I’m afraid of heights, so my hands always sweat when taking off. But it was early in the morning, so before I knew it, I had arrived. Take the shuttle bus to Kagoshima Chuo Station, leave your luggage at the hotel, and then take the local bus to Chiran. There are only a few buses, so you won’t be able to miss a single one. 12:10 Kagoshima Chuo Station ↓ 13:31 Tokko Kannon Iriguchi Today I will visit the Chiran Peace Museum in Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The road along the sea feels nice. It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to the nearest bus stop, “Tokkou Heiwa Kannon Iriguchi.” The bus gradually climbs up the mountain. 13:30 Arrive at Tokkou Heiwa Kannon Iriguchi. It took about 10 minutes to walk from the bus stop to the Chiran Peace Museum. This is a place to pass on to future generations the records of young people who flew as special attack troops during World War II. Chiran Peace Museum Admission fee: 500 yen for adults The first thing you see when you enter the museum is the Zero Fighter Exhibition Room. Its official name is Zero A6M carrier-based fighter. Also known as Zero Fighter. The aircraft sank into the sea in 1945 and was salvaged in 1981. “Tokkō” is an abbreviation for “special attack corps” and refers to a sortie that does not assume return. My heart aches just thinking about how he risked his life to take off. Photography inside the building was prohibited except for this exhibition room and the lobby, but photographs of the suicide bombers and their suicide notes were on display, as well as various video and audio recordings, giving a realistic picture of the situation at the time. I think we must never forget that we are here today because of their sacrifices. Chiran’s requiem. We will also tour the outside exhibition area. This is the triangular barracks. A dormitory where special attack soldiers slept. The triangular roof extending all the way to the ground was designed to improve air protection. It is said that he spent the night before his departure in this small and simple space. The person who wrote the last letter here. A person who chatted with his friends. Such an appearance was also left in the photograph. I feel a strong feeling that cannot be put into words. I came to Special Attack Kannon. It was built to commemorate the spirits of the suicide bombers and pray for peace. Many people come to offer flowers and prayers. It is a memory that should never be forgotten. There were also many cenotaphs lined up. It is said that not only those who died in the Pacific War but also those who died in the Boshin War and the Seinan War are enshrined here. After visiting the Special Attack Peace Center, I returned to the bus stop. 14:48 Tokkou Kannon Iriguchi ↓ 14:58 Buke Yahiki Iriguchi Next, I will head to Chiran Samurai Residence, also known as Little Kyoto of Satsuma. Admission fee is 530 yen for adults.Purchase at one of several nearby sales points. Seven samurai residence gardens are open to the public, and you can take a stroll while looking at this map. The group of samurai residences has been designated as a nationally important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings, and people still live there, including the gardens that are open to the public. There is a gate at the entrance of each residence, and this two-tiered gate is said to indicate that it is a prestigious samurai residence. A simple one-step gate like this is said to be a so-called branch family mansion. The stone wall in front of the gate is called a folding screen rock, which originates from Ryukyu and is said to have been used to prevent enemies from shooting bows and arrows into the mansion. One of the characteristics of samurai residence gardens is the borrowed scenery. The mountains that spread out in the background look like a Japanese painting. A female resident explained various things to us. The beautiful and perfectly arranged garden evokes the aesthetic sense of the samurai of the time. This building, which is a combination of two buildings, has an architectural style called Chiran-style Futatsuya, which clearly separates the living space into the “front” for living and the “nakae” (kitchen). The interior of the house has been preserved as it was back then, and the tatami mats, shoji screens, and even each wooden pillar have a sense of style. Separate entrances for men and women are also a sign of the times. I would like to have tea at the attached Kojoan! But it was a day off. It is said to be the most luxurious and spacious garden among the samurai residence gardens. This garden is said to be particularly prestigious among the Chiran samurai residence gardens, and is the only garden with a pond full of water. It seems that the strange rocks are placed to represent a cave. Each garden had its own personality and was very interesting. We had a wonderful and peaceful time. It’s almost time for the bus, so I head back to the bus stop. 16:03 Samurai Residence Entrance ↓ 17:15 Kagoshima Chuo Station There were some parts of the trip that were rushed due to the bus schedule, but I’m glad I was able to visit Chiran, a town with a lot of historical heritage. I returned to Kagoshima Chuo Station. I was a little hungry so I had the Strawberry Daifuku Milk (770 yen). A dessert drink like strawberry daifuku with red bean paste, strawberries, shiratama, and milk. Sweet and delicious♪ Shiratama dango is on the bottom! I was satisfied with the shiratama dumplings and plenty of whipped cream. The hotel we will be staying at this time is about 4 minutes walk from the station. It’s inside the arcade. I will now check in to the hotel. Room TourThe stylish monochrome interior! It’s a new hotel so it’s very clean. I booked a semi-double room. There seems to be no power outlet on the bedside, only a USB port. mini sofa and table. A fairly large TV. Of course, there is also a refrigerator. Two coffee cups and two glasses. Boiling kettle. There was a shelf where I could put things, which was very convenient. There is no closet for the full-length mirror , and the hanger is hung on the wall. And the view from the window is amazing. The window can only open 5cm, but you can see that the wall is right in front of you . Let’s take a look at the water area. Although it is a so-called unit bath, it is shiny and clean. The shower and drainage were comfortable and there were no problems. Rinse-in shampoo and body soap. Amenities are brought from the lobby, so you have to go get them. Amenities include razor, hairbrush, toothbrush, cotton, and body towel. The body towel was fluffy and felt great on the skin! There is also a coin laundry next to the lobby! Authentic coffee ground from beans was also available. Please return to your room. This HOTEL NOIR seems to be characterized by being simple and inexpensive. This time’s reservation was 11,352 yen for 2 nights. Coffee is so delicious when ground from proper beans! There was no breakfast provided, and there was no cleaning for consecutive nights, but there was a set of towels hanging on the door. As you can see, new towels and garbage bags are provided, so there is no problem. If you wish, you can request cleaning for an additional fee of 1,000 yen.We will go out to eat dinner! When I think of Kagoshima, I think of Kurobuta pork, so I decided to have tonkatsu for dinner. I was wondering if I should go to a famous tonkatsu restaurant, but I heard there was a long line and a lot of food at the famous restaurant, so I gave up and went to this restaurant near my hotel. There were various tonkatsu menus, but the number of grams was written so it was easy to choose. I ordered the Kurobuta pork loin cutlet set meal (130g) which seemed to be just right for me. The set meal is 1,790 yen, and you can get unlimited refills of rice and cabbage! I was given cold tea, but this is what I like! Perhaps because it was early in the day, it was pretty crowded, so even if I was alone, I was shown to a table. KP is the best – 30 minutes of waiting while drinking beer. I’m sure it’s slowly fried. I was worried, but it finally came! ! Good thing I didn’t call out. It looks small at first glance, but it’s a thick loin cutlet. Pork soup with lots of ingredients. Sesame seeds in a mortar and boiled pork? Shredded cabbage and rice. Miso sauce, salt, original sauce A set meal with lots of pork. Let’s eat a lot of cabbage. First, let’s start with pork soup. It has so many ingredients and a rich flavor that you can eat it all by itself. And a piece of cutlet. Quite thick. Wow, so soft and delicious! The original sauce has a strong sour taste and is refreshing to eat. The rice goes well. If you eat meat, you have to eat vegetables. The dressing is vegetable-based, so it’s very refreshing. Fried food and beer really go together, don’t you think? Next time I’ll try it with miso sauce. This is sweet, rich, and exquisite. It looks like an endless loop of meat → rice → cabbage will be completed. Sigh, I was so full that I couldn’t get another helping of cabbage. When we returned to the hotel, Aibo-kun welcomed us. Oh so cute! Will your dog enjoy stroking your chin too? Now that I’ve changed into my pajamas, I think I’ll watch YouTube on TV. That’s what I thought, but I felt sick to my stomach so I took a break for a while. The bed is just the right firmness and is super comfortable. I’m really glad I went to Chiran today. There were a lot of foreign tourists, but I wanted Japanese people to go there too. I haven’t slept yet, but I’ll get some sleep. Just a little bit… I’ll enjoy Sakurajima next time tomorrow. Will I be able to see the spectacular view of Sakurajima? Thank you for watching until the end! Please subscribe to the channel, give a high rating, and leave a comment.
