Japan Travel Staying at a Traditional Ryokan in Miyakonojo + Sukiyaki & Yakiniku Feast!

one two [Music] [Music] three so we are back in M Jo and this time we’re visiting a Japanese Inn or yokan called tokua they have a restaurant and also an onson onsite we came here as part of a package using the meat tourism campaign in one of my other videos I mentioned meat tourism but it’s basically a campaign in makono that allows you to stay in a nice hotel paired with a nice meal of some sort the idea is to bring in tourists from outside of makono Jo to sample their Specialties which are their beef and their SHO we’ve already used this campaign a few times and we usually stay in like a standard hotel but this time we chose the Japanese Inn and it’s nice because they have an onson the meal is inside the restaurant usually when we stay at other ones we have to drive to go to another restaurant but everything is all included in this one place so I think it’s a definite bonus because you don’t have to go anywhere [Music] this place is also familyfriendly there were a lot of families here with their kids as well so I think it’s a good place to bring your family oh and I mentioned the meat tourism I’ll put the link down in the description so you can go to the website and check it out for yourself but it’s uh basically open to anyone in Japan except if you live in meon show that’s the only thing [Music] go what makes a Japanese indifferent from a regular hotel is that the floor is tatami mat and then your bed is a Japanese fut ton instead of a regular bed can see you in the mirror sneaking trying to sneak by all right obviously they’re more modern now so you have flat screen TV and other stuff like that but it’s still very traditional and they also include all the stuff that you need to go to the onson like the sandals and the robe it’s all here for you plus a t the Onin on site is a public one but they also have a private one that you can reserve it costs money of course but you know benefit is it’s just [Music] you so the meal this time is sukiyaki which is is thin strips of beef and you just Grill it in a little pot with uh vegetables and all the other things they give you the good thing about this one is that it’s all included in the meal you don’t have to order different sets of meat and things like that it’s all included and this is their Shu which is their specialty as well there’s three different kinds that they give you and it’s also included in the meal they give you two at first so you can sample with every whatever you want so like soda or water or just stray anything like that and then the last one the third one uh it comes as a dessert show you [Music] so these are the first two Sho that I mentioned before I can’t remember which one is which obviously but they are both really good [Music] ready [Music] go [Music] nah [Music] oh yeah yeah [Music] n [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] n so this rice is really good too it’s actually being steamed while you’re making your food there’s a little candle underneath that cooks it and they start it before you come in so you just wait a little bit while you’re making your food and you got fresh rice and it’s really [Music] good and if you like the rice you can actually buy it at the front where you check in [Music] and so this is the dessert Chu that I mentioned before and you just pour it on top of this Yu ice cream and it’s also really good and then I committed a party F spilled it my bad [Music] [Music] the so the next M trip we stayed at vessel hotel and it’s just a standard hotel I think we stayed like two or three times now but Yaki niku is the next meal so we have to drive to it so it’s not included in the hotel but they do have a breakfast in the hotel and it’s really good buffet style breakfast so they got all kinds of good stuff there [Music] [Music] so at this yakin Niki restaurant it’s not all you can eat we had to pick a course like a set of the different types of meat so that’s what we did and they have a all you can drink with I think one beer and then unlimited showu after that because of course showu is the specialty here [Music] y [Music] so make sure you check out the a meat tourism website because it gives you all the information that you need for the campaign plus it has the list of restaurants and hotels that participate we’ve done it a few times now the area is nice there’s not a ton to do here but the food is always good people are nice and they have lots of shopping too you know if you want to do that but just make sure you check out the website gives you all your information that you need and uh yeah hope you enjoy for [Music]

So we are back in Miyakonojo, and this time we’re visiting a Japanese Inn or ryokan called Tokiwa. They have a restaurant and also an onsen on site. We came here as part of a package using the Meat tourism campaign. In a previous video, I mentioned meat tourism but it’s basically a campaign in Miyakonojo that allows you to stay in a nice hotel paired with a nice meal of some sort. The idea is to bring in tourists from outside of Miyakonojo to sample their specialties which are beef and Shochu. We have utilized this a few times already and usually stay in a standard hotel but this time we get to enjoy the Japanese inn and the amenities it comes with.

  1. I hope you guys enjoy a taste of Miyakonojo! The food is always good. I made one mistake, for the yakiniku restaurant, beer is not included with the all you can drink. They actually charged us for the beer and we had to get it fixed because they gave us the wrong menu. Otherwise, all you can drink shochu and other cocktails are included. 乾杯!Cheers!
