[Music] welcome to my channel go to another world #japan Cultural Edition i’m Takkesh a nationally licensed tour guide for foreign visitors thank you for joining me on this journey today I’d like to share something with you about Ninja now let me ask you do you think ninjas really existed well the answer is yes but I’m sorry to break the illusion they are no longer around they vanished into the pages of history i know I know that might ruin the fantasy for some but don’t worry ninjas were very real they weren’t just movie characters or manga heroes they actually lived and operated behind the scenes during Japan’s age of chaos the ninja first appeared around 500 years ago the remote mountain regions of EGA and Koka developed their own strategies for survival these unique techniques eventually became known as ninj the art of stealth ninjas weren’t usually frontline warriors instead they acted more like spies or covert agents they sneaked into enemy territory gathered intelligence set fires or even persuaded people to change sides or in secret in their daily lives they often disguised themselves as farmers medicine sellers or traveling performers living quietly among the people until their skills were needed they lived in the shadows and vanished into the shadows they are mysterious thrilling and they still spark our imagination no matter how old we are today we’ll explore two historic ninja hometowns EGA in Mia Prefecture and the Koka in Chiga so come on don’t be shy put on your ninja gear step back in time and let your inner child play again so let’s not waste time the ninja story begins here and now let’s go this village once home to ninjas somehow feels made for rainy and cloudy days nestled quietly in a mountain village stands a modest old farmhouse but this isn’t just any old home it was built in the Edo period at the residence of the leader of the Koga Ninja in other words this is an authentic ninja house and what’s more in the only remaining ninja residence in Japan you can almost feel the tension in the air as if the house itself is still keeping secrets unfortunately filming isn’t allowed beyond this point so from here on we’ll take you through with photos the house is filled with hidden staircases escape routes false walls and even trap doors a true masterpiece of ninja ingenuity be to fend off intruders in countless ways it’s enough to make you pause and reflect on the lives of those who once lived in the shadows of history [Music] all right time to check out the ninja attraction zone wow there are ninjas everywhere [Music] [Music] oh that’s so cute [Music] wow what a clever trick when the ED period started and the fighting stopped ninjas began to fade away from history it’s so mysterious isn’t it [Music] it’s free to enter and they also offer plenty of ninja info you can take home no charge you can deepen your understanding of ninja life and traditions here the ninja from this area are officially called the koka ninja because that’s how the city’s name is pronounced but many folks actually say Koga ninja which feels more friendly and tied to the ninja stories don’t forget city right next to Koka is another great place to encounter ninjas ninjas everywhere look around ninjas ninjas ninjas they are everywhere that’s so cool ooh that sugar sweet you got what I need sipping on the potion all that good emotion just look at keep it on repeat justify the motion loving this devotion live it up it up give it up sweet emotion it’s every time every night you and I on a roll switch it up switch it up switch it up where I’m going stay on the fly just in time for the right way to go i’m on the road this my time taking control of my life i want to run the red lights i’ve got to run this show you always take me so high you always make the highlights i love the way we drive up you’re like a [Music] You got what I need [Music] keep it [Music] motion couldn’t resist i got myself a ninja umbrella so what do you say cool huh it’s been a long and enjoyable day and now I’m tired good night [Music] are you listening [Music] cuz I don’t want to waste your time i’m not [Music] will be all right see the only one I want by my side but if you’re not here for it I know I got to let you run away broken dishes you missing my heart’s in pieces all over the floor cuz you know I can’t get you out of my head worried that you’re just going to forget oh baby did you hear me when I said are you [Music] cuz I don’t want to waste your time heat heat heat [Music] by my side but if you’re looking for it I’m going to let you
