「山の駅たかはら」は、八方ヶ原・高原山散策の拠点ともいえる施設です。本格的な山歩きをする人、気軽に自然散策を楽しむ人と、年間を通して幅広い人が訪れます。また、近年は滝めぐりのベースになっており、近くには「おしらじの滝」や「雄飛の滝」、「雷霆の滝」など様々な滝があり、来る方をマイナスイオンたっぷりで迎えてくれます。
春のつつじ散策、夏の滝めぐり、秋の紅葉狩り、冬のスノーシューハイキングなど、四季を満喫できるイベントも開催しています。
レストランでは矢板名物「あっぷるカレー」や人気の「おしらじソフトクリーム」などをご用意しております。また「おしらじラーメン」や「八方定食」などご当地グルメのメニュー開発にも取り組んでいます。
また、令和5年4月にはキャンプ場「Star Light Camp Base」をオープンしました。キャンプサイトには、満天の星空を堪能できる「星空サイト」、矢板市を一望できる「夜景サイト」があります。
山の駅たかはらには、フリーWi－Fi、シャワー室も完備しており、快適に過ごしていただけます。
