【Walking Tour】Mizusawa Udon Street in Ikaho, Gunma, Japan|Temple Town & Local Noodle Street Walk

🍜 [Filmed in May 2025]
This walking video takes you through Mizusawa Udon Street and the nearby Mizusawa Kannon Temple in Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture.
Located at the foot of the famous Mizusawa Kannon Temple, this charming area is known as a traditional “monzenmachi” (temple town), lined with long-established udon restaurants that have been serving locals and travelers for generations.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy the peaceful countryside scenery, moss-covered stone steps, and historical stone statues that give this place its serene and timeless charm.

In this video, I also stop by the well-known udon restaurant Oosawaya, where I enjoyed their signature Mizusawa Udon and crispy maitake tempura.
The chewy texture of the udon and the freshly fried mushroom tempura are local specialties you won’t want to miss when visiting this area.

Filmed during the fresh green season of May, this video offers a calm, slow-paced walking experience that captures the quiet beauty of a spring morning in a traditional Japanese town — a refreshing contrast to the typical hot spring resort areas.
