This time, we will introduce Onjuku Toho, Aizu Higashiyama Onsen in Fukushima Prefecture. Aizu Higashiyama Onsen was opened approximately 1,300 years ago during the Tenpyo era. Discovered by the famous monk Gyoki, it was once called Ou Sanrakukyo, along with Kaminoyama Onsen and Yunohama Onsen in Yamagata Prefecture. Onjuku Toho is a hot spring hotel that stands out at the entrance to Higashiyama Onsen , just 10 minutes by car from the center of Aizuwakamatsu City, which has a population of approximately 120,000 . In this video, we will give a full review of the charms of Onjuku Toho, including the history and overview of the hotel, the multiple rooms, the proud large public bath, and the luxurious buffet dinner and breakfast. There is a lot to see in this video, so please watch it until the end. History and Overview Onjuku Toho stands on a hill at an altitude of 300 meters overlooking the castle town of Aizuwakamatsu. Onjuku Toho was founded in 1960 (Showa 35). Initially, it opened in two buildings, the main building and Suzaku-tei . It opened in 1991 and 20 Expanded a two-story tower building. In 2004, it became a subsidiary of Orix Hotels & Resorts, which operates hotels and hot spring inns across the country, and changed its meal format to breakfast and dinner buffets. An open-air bath was opened in 2006, and a large-scale renovation of the lobby and guest rooms was completed from 2015 to 2020. The current Onjuku Toho consists of three buildings : the 20-story tower building, Suzaku-tei (5 stories), and the main building (6 stories) , with a total of 160 rooms. It is the largest hot spring hotel in Aizu Higashiyama Onsen. Let’s enter the building through the city hotel-style entrance. The lobby is a luxurious and luxurious space. The combs are not disposable but can be used only during the women’s bath.They are separated by three-sided mirrors and have cold water. is a Higashiyama Park hot spring source with a pH of 8.2 sodium, calcium sulfate, and chloride.The water is heated, filtered, and sterilized, and the sanitary bath is well maintained.The indoor bath has a high ceiling and a large window for an open feeling . You can see the view of Aizu below from the indoor bath, but the view from the open-air bath is even more spectacular, so be sure to take a look afterwards . The hot water is colorless, transparent, and odorless.The pH is close to neutral, making it easy to bathe in.There is a mist sauna in the Aroma Doll shower booth for shampoo . The moment you open it, the steam is amazing ^^ You can enjoy an authentic mist sauna that is kept at around 50-60℃. Now let’s go to the open-air bath (^^♪ Open-air bath Sora-no-Yu The roof is about half-covered, but it is completely open. The open feeling is outstanding (^^♪ The view overlooking Aizu city is especially beautiful at sunset and at night👍The bathtub is characterized by having 3 levels.The upper level is a bathtub with a normal depth . There is a shallow part for half-body bathing.The second tier is divided into booths where you can lie down.I actually tried sleeping in it last night, and it was amazing to see the stars 👍I hope you all will join as well . Try to sleep lol Finally , it’s the main round bath . It’s a bath that makes you feel like you’re floating.The bathtub has two levels.It ‘s an infinity bath like this when you soak in it.It ‘s a wonderful open-air bath . Kumo-no-yu It was time for the men’s changing room, so shaving was available. Tanakumo-no-yu The indoor baths are about the same size. It has a luxurious feel. You can see the same wonderful view from the large windows. 👍The washing area is also sufficient. Yes, you can sit on the upper floor and enjoy the view.The bathtub is a little deeper and has the widest view.Both baths are really nice from here , so check in. Dinner buffet The dinner venue is the buffet venue “Agaransho” across the lobby from the front desk. “Agaransho” is a dialect of the Aizu region. It means “meshigare”.
