We begin our journey from Kintetsu Yoshino Station. This area is known for having over 30,000 cherry trees. Yoshinoyama is divided into four areas: Shimo, Naka, Kami, and Oku. Shimo Senbon is the lower area, where cherry trees line the town streets. Some of these trees are over 100 years old. Many traditional inns and teahouses can be found along the way. This is Naka Senbon, the middle area of Yoshino. This viewpoint offers a stunning panorama of Yoshino’s slopes. During the peak of spring, this path becomes a tunnel of blossoms. This rest area offers benches and a perfect view for hanami. Look at the contrast between the evergreen trees and the pink cherry blossoms. The cherry trees here were planted over many centuries.
