【韓国Vlog】弘大→麻浦へ怒涛の引っ越し!新居も大公開!18日間の暮らすような韓国旅行!
The 18-day trip to live in Seoul is now halfway through. Today, we will also reveal the stormy move to our new home! Seoul Vlog 18-day mini-relocation Episode 9 Nii-kun Traveling @Seoul February 8, 2024 Good morning 8:00 a.m. It’s the 9th day of the 17-night, 18-day Seoul mini-relocation. Today, we are moving from our home in Hongdae, which we rented on Airbnb. Last night, we had a farewell party to Hongdae and didn’t clean up at all. Will this be cleaned up by the time we check out? The trash is out, the kitchen is full of luggage, the suitcases are fully open, and the laundry is hanging out to dry! When we go outside, it’s a beautiful sunny day! Hello! It’s Nii-kun! Escaping reality with his wife Ham-san. We’re on a mini-relocation to Seoul for 18 days. We’re escaping reality from cleaning up and going to have breakfast! Check-out is at 12 o’clock, so I wonder if we’ll be able to manage it. Oh?! There’s a nice shelf abandoned in a place like this. However, while we were saying that we can’t take it to Japan , we arrived at the cafe! I was curious, but the opening hours didn’t match up with the opening hours, so I had to go up the stairs to the second floor. It faces Gyeongui Line Book Street, so the view is amazing . They had eggs Benedict! It was morning, so it was reserved! Morning came to Hongdae. We were in an empty cafe. A brand new day in Seoul. Which city should we go to today ? Who should we meet? The story of our journey continues. The ice is shaped like animals! If you look closely, it’s a bear and a cat. I’ll rescue the bear who is taking a bath. This is the cat. Let’s eat! The balsamic dressing is delicious! Gently separate the eggs . This is garlic! In addition to vegetables, there are sauteed mushrooms, crispy bacon, garlic, and lots of other ingredients, so it’s delicious! A very quiet morning. I think this will be my last time having breakfast in Hongdae. However, I never expected that it would become so chaotic after this! By the way, today was a weekday, and Ham-san was at language school, but I asked him to take the day off! At first, I thought I would move alone , but I had so much stuff that I couldn’t carry it all by myself. After this, I cleaned up my room, packed my stuff, checked out by 12 o’clock, and headed to my house in Mapo. Today’s plan What will the new house be like? Anxiety and anticipation! I’m going to a restaurant that serves champagne makgeolli at night! I’m going to go to the rooftop that I’ve been curious about . Wow! The feeling of openness is amazing! It’s a bit cold to eat outside because it’s winter . You can see the whole of Gyeongui Line Book Street. I’d like to come again in the warmer seasons… Please support me by subscribing to my Traveling Nii-kun channel! Anyway, I left the restaurant and went back to cleaning up! 10:00 a.m. Finally, I started cleaning up and packing my stuff, which I had been avoiding! Ham-san is full of motivation and starts cleaning up! First, I take out the trash from the things that are easy to throw away . It’s a relief that there are a lot of trash bags prepared – Ham-san starts packing from the clothes . I also fold the laundry that I hung out until the last minute last night. Since I’m not going to put it on the plane, I just push it in! As long as it fits in the suitcase, it’s OK! Next is the bathroom! I’m afraid of liquid leakage, so I tape the lid shut. The amount of trash has increased, so I’ll throw more away . Airbnb is basically about restoring things to their original state, so I’ll pack Nii-kun’s suitcase as tightly as possible! I’ll take out the trash first, and then vacuum it up! Phew, it’s almost all tidy! We went to the bedroom, which was packed with suitcases, and Ham-san’s suitcase was also packed with another bag. Ham-san was looking up information about the next house. With Airbnb, the host (renter) will contact you on the day of check-in. Perhaps for security reasons, the detailed information about the house is not available until the day of check-in. The specific location of the house and things to note will be sent. Check-in is at 3pm, so we have 3 hours to spare. Since it’s not a hotel, they can’t store our luggage in advance, so we have no choice but to wait at the cafe when we arrive in Mapo. We have a lot of luggage, so we can’t move easily… This house was just an ordinary house, but it was easy to use. Thank you very much for your help at noon . 1. We have some time left in Mapo, so we leave just before 12 o’clock . Since I’m a worrier, I do a final check… I wonder if I’ve left anything behind… I turn off the lights properly. There’s nothing left in the bedroom either… Goodbye~ In addition to the suitcase, there are also bags and backpacks. This is the opposite of the way there… Please see here for the miserable situation on the day of arrival. It’s impossible for an old man to take it down on the landing one by one 😅 It’s hell to carry a 23kg suitcase down from the third floor. I went back and carried it down one by one. Lesson learned: Elderly people should avoid properties with stairs . My luggage is all over the place. Goodbye, goodbye, my home in Hongdae. Traveling Nii-kun. Please support me with the like button! Now, I called a car using KaKao. It’s a major taxi dispatch app in Korea. I wanted it to come right to my house, so I decided to call it . This is what my moving luggage looked like! 2 suitcases, 2 bags, 2 rucksacks, and a shoulder bag. I thought I was able to call a taxi, but the app said it would arrive in 1 minute, but it never came. The app said it was right nearby, but there was no sign of it. The two of us waited aimlessly. The taxi driver called. If it doesn’t work, you’ll get a call or SMS. The taxi was approaching again. It was a narrow alley on a back street, so it seems the starting point was not clear. If you don’t set the starting point precisely, it can cause trouble. Be careful where there are roads above and below. The app is unclear about the difference between up and down the road. Finally it’s here! Whew, it was hard ! Will it be able to carry so much luggage? Watch your back! It’s too heavy and won’t go all the way in… Now it won’t close… I’m so sorry for the inconvenience. It’s time to say goodbye to my home in Hongdae. Goodbye~~ My luggage was really heavy . In fact, at this time, the luggage was so heavy that I didn’t have time to get sentimental, and the relief of being able to get into a taxi was greater . The app also lets you see your current location and route, so it’s safe. Kakao Taxi on the move Hongdae to Mapo. It’s also on the monitor in the seat! Ham-san, who didn’t notice, is contacting his host (landlord) in Hongdae. With Airbnb, you can contact your host via LINE-like means. It would be kind to let them know that you’ve checked out. We’ve entered Mapo town! Please support Traveling Nii-kun by subscribing to his channel! 1pm We arrived in Mapo! About 10,300 won Thank you, taxi driver, for your large luggage! I’ll go and see if there’s a seat first! Since I have a lot of luggage, I ask him to go and see if there’s a seat first . There was a seat, so we headed to the cafe . It seems that this store is currently closed as well… The toast looks delicious for 17,000 won . I’m glad it was empty. Since my luggage is so big, I was able to use a larger seat. Check-in is at 3 p.m., so I’ll wait for about an hour and a half. Since my luggage is so big, I can’t move. Ham-san has unsweetened iced tea. It’s hard to find this. Here it is! I didn’t care about calories, so I got something great! Here we go! It looks sweet – lots of honey, lots of cream… I wonder how it tastes . It seems to be very sweet… The reason I chose Mapo as my second place to stay is because I often stayed in Mapo on my trips before COVID-19. First of all, the location is great! You can get to downtown areas such as Myeongdong in about 10 minutes by taxi. There are also two subway lines, Mapo Station on Line 5 and Gongdeok Station on Line 6. The first stop of the express bus from Incheon International Airport is right in front of the Garden Hotel. Compared to downtown areas such as Myeongdong, the accommodation rates are cheaper. It has a downtown atmosphere, and there are many shops, making it convenient for daily life. One of the secret attractions is Fritz Coffee, my favorite cafe in Seoul. I’m going to Fritz Coffee tonight! Kakao Taxi asked me to rate the driver, and I did. I also received a rating message from a host (renter) in Hongdae. Airbnb is similar to Mercari’s rating system, where you rate each other . Traveling Nii-kun, please support me with the like button! 3:00 PM Well, it’s time to head to my house in Mapo! At first, I had plenty of time, looking around the greengrocers in the city… it has a downtown feel to it, which is nice! However, at this time, I made a big mistake. When you make a reservation with Airbnb, you only know the general location. You don’t receive the exact location until right before you check in. I went back to the morning… I had received an email from the host with the exact location, but I was planning to look for it in the following order: Go to the general location on the map I booked with → Look for the building in the photo. I thought the photo had been sent to me , so I headed to the general location on the map , but no matter how much I looked, there was no landmark building! It’s not here… It’s not here… I just can’t find it! I went back to the greengrocer and asked the lady who seemed to be a local. She said she would kindly take me there! The cobblestone road was damaging. My extremely heavy bag was digging into my arm. The building in the photo was further over there… The lady, the lady , started walking faster and faster ! Wait! I can’t do it anymore … I’m stuck on the cobblestones! It got stuck here and there and couldn’t move forward. In the end, I ended up dragging it. After this, it was so painful that I didn’t have time to film. Please watch the rest of the video after we found our home in Mapo. Please support us by subscribing to our channel, Traveling Nii-kun! Finally! We found it! The location on the map is completely different, auntie! Thank you! The map of the general location of Airbnb is unreliable. We arrived at our home in Mapo! As soon as we entered, it was the kitchen ! But it seems so stylish… There are slippers and other things here. This is a small detached house. But aren’t you breathing too hard? The first spacious home we looked for was one that prioritized practicality. This time, our home in Mapo is one that prioritizes a sense of style. It’s a beautifully renovated house that you wouldn’t imagine from the outside. It may be very stylish… Someone is still panting… It’s so beautiful!! A very spacious bedroom with a projector that shows attention to detail. The dining table and modern bathroom are both pure white and new! However, there is only a shower and no bathtub. The kitchen is spacious and easy to use.Let ‘s start the room tour.Sophisticated interior.Furniture that does not destroy the worldview.A clean and practical kitchen.Tableware that shows attention to detail.Consideration of practicality. Now , I take out only the bare necessities and start preparing dinner.I’m planning to go to a champagne makgeolli shop in Insadong, but I’m not sure about the opening hours, so I called to check. They say they are open tonight as well.Traveling Nii-kun, please support me with the like button! 5pm.Now, I’m off to dinner!I pass by my favorite cafe, Fritz. Are you going to buy something? I guess I’ll stop by on my way home. When I go to Fritz, I always buy some goods, so I’ll stop by on my way home. This area is around the Garden Hotel, where I’ve stayed many times.I feel like I’m back home. The roads around here are chronically congested.I’ve heard that I can just take the subway, but I’m tired from moving, so I take a taxi.It ‘s in front of the hotel, so it’s easy to get a taxi. The shop is in Insadong, so I go to Anguk Station. It ‘s evening, so the traffic is heavy.13,000 won.Arrived at Anguk! Since I have some time before the store opens, I take a quick walk around Insadong. It ‘s a shopping center called 쌈지길 (Ssamziegil). It ‘s the biggest shopping mall in Insadong. I’m across the newly built Insadong Maru intersection and I’m checking out the Layered Cafe . I wonder if I can come back later… I’ll also try the rumored London Bagel Museum. It’s a famous store that you see in videos every day. It didn’t seem as crowded as I thought it would be, but… that ‘s because there were only people who had made reservations and were waiting. Of course, I couldn’t get in because I didn’t make a reservation… 😅 I was just peeking out the window to see what was going on… London Bagel Museum Anguk branch. It seems that you can’t get in unless you make a reservation in the morning . Is it worth going that far? I’m not sure. The London Bagel Museum requires courage. There are a lot of Instagram girls there … Should I come back later? What should I do? As I head back towards Insadong, I discover a store with a line of people waiting . 떡산 안국 독 Anguk Tteokbokki store. It looks delicious. 6pm. Well, opening time is approaching, so we head to the restaurant we were looking for. Isn’t this alley too narrow? It’s narrow! Once we leave the alley, it gets a little wider. This is a backstreet that runs parallel to the main street of Insa-dong, but if you don’t know the area, you won’t know it. Insa-dong’s restaurants are mostly concentrated in the back streets. We’ve arrived! 누룩나무(Nureun Nam) For dinner, we came to a restaurant where you can drink champagne makgeolli. The interior is like a Korean izakaya. First, banchan (appetizer) I was thirsty so I started with a beer. It was like a local beer. I always drink “CASS” or something, so I ‘m looking forward to it. Cheers to the move! How does it taste? ? It’s delicious! It’s like an ale beer, and it’s full-bodied and delicious! For snacks, I ordered seafood pancake. It has a lot of ingredients, so I’ll try a little! It ‘s a little different from burdock or tazukuri. Champagne makgeolli . Here comes the main character! Champagne makgeolli is makgeolli with a high carbonation content. Among them, I chose the famous Boksundoga makgeolli. Now ! Here’s how to drink champagne makgeolli! First, shake it lightly… and open it slowly. Makgeolli dripping like Kegon Falls. Screams echoing throughout the store. Splashes flying through the sky. And despair . Bad news . As for the damage, it seems that 1/3 of the makgeolli was lost after gushing out. Fortunately, it didn’t seem to have hit other customers, so it was just self-destruction . That’s all Nii-kun reported from the scene. It’s a disaster! Makgeolli was scattered all over the place! It’s a big mess… Ham-san is pretty depressed because he poured a lot of it on the chijimi. He lost 1/3 of his makgeolli… Let’s cheer up! What’s over can’t be helped . Let’s have a fresh mood! Cheers! Cheers with champagne makgeolli~! It ‘s carbonic and delicious!! I’m drinking it all~ As it is called champagne makgeolli, it has a light taste and goes down easily. However, I was underestimating that it would blow out so much . The correct way to open it is to open and close the lid repeatedly to let the carbonation out to a certain extent before opening the lid all the way. Everyone, please be careful! Anyway, back to the topic , I’m glad that the move was completed safely. I’m looking forward to my favorite Fritz Coffee in the neighborhood. Ham-san will be commuting to school for a short-term study abroad program by train. I’m looking forward to living at home in Mapo from tomorrow. Thank you for the meal! 44,000 won Traveling Nii-kun Please support us by subscribing to our channel! 7:30 pm There was some trouble, but the chijimi and makgeolli were delicious! I left the back streets of Insadong and headed for the main street. As the sun went down, the temperature dropped dramatically. It even dropped to 0 degrees. One year, on 12/31, I went to Jongno and it was -14 degrees. When it gets really cold, my face gets stiff and it’s hard to talk. Which do you think is colder, winter in Seoul or night at the ski resort ? While I was talking about this, I walked to Kyobo Bookstore. Kyobo Bookstore is a large bookstore. It’s a tricky distance to take a taxi, so I walked. It was quite a long walk, and I was tired. Ham-san, my knees aren’t feeling so good after walking every day. Kyobo Bookstore Gwanghwamun storeWe came to Jongno, so we stopped by Kyobo Bookstore, but I wonder if Ham-san’s knee is okay. He ‘s not young, so it’s really taking a toll on his body. Kyobo Bookstore is a large bookstore , which has a similar atmosphere to Sanseido, which is becoming less common in Japan these days. Ham-san bought some Korean language study materials to take home. If you buy them in Japan, the shipping costs are high and it’s about twice as much , so we split up and Nii-kun was on a walk. They have different designs and bindings than Japanese books, which are interesting , but I can’t read them, so I didn’t buy them… It’s really spacious. Even though it’s a bookstore, it has a large Starbucks inside. There are also plenty of table seats and everyone is reading. I’m really jealous… In Japan, there are large Tsutaya bookstores, but they’re not everywhere. Land prices are high in Tokyo, so it seems impossible to have a large store. The stationery section is also spacious. There are many stationery items that are not just a few ballpoint pens, and it’s fun to just look at them. Notebooks, pens, diaries, etc. Korean designs are cute. There are also CD and DVD shops, as well as game consoles and electronic devices. Now, let’s meet up with Ham-san and go home! On the way back, we took a taxi because we were overworked! Taxis are so convenient… Nii-kun is traveling and holding the book he bought with care. Please support him with the like button! We returned to Mapo at 8:30 pm ! The two of them are singing something. Probably this song… The two of them don’t go home until the end. Here we are! Finally here! Fritz Coffee Tohka Branch Korea will soon be closed for the Lunar New Year. I’m a little worried because many restaurants are closed. This is my favorite cafe in Seoul. They are open until late, but they may not have bread at night. Of course, the coffee is delicious, but the croissants here are exquisite. I wonder if they still have bread. It’s very crowded even though it’s night… As expected, it’s sold out! I’ll look forward to the croissants tomorrow and later, and I want to drink just coffee and go home… However… the second floor is also very crowded… This may not be good ~ It ‘s still as popular as ever . I have no choice but to take the coffee out. The cookies are also delicious, so I’ll buy some to go home! 5,000 wonIsn’t this mascot cute? I thought it was a seal for many years. The other day, when I was looking at social media, I saw a story that it was a sea lion.If anyone knows the truth, please let me know. There are many goods, and Nii-kun has bought quite a lot.Every time I come, there is a new product, so I buy it again. It ‘s very lively even late at night. The lattes here are made with espresso one cup at a time. The aroma, richness, and sweetness are different. Our iced latte is done! 10,000 wonThis time, I’m finally going back to my home in Mapo.Mapo is a town that still has a downtown feel.Nii -kun and Ham-san are both from the downtown area, so it’s a nostalgic scene. My home in Mapo was very close from the station, and it looks like a local restaurant, which is nice.Nii -kun is traveling.Subscribe to our channel to support us! 9:00 pm Return to my home in Mapo! It was a long day! So many things happened. Here is an announcement of the after-party! After taking a shower and feeling refreshed, it’s time for the after-party.The combination of beer and cafe latte was great! Even though it’s a borrowed house, I feel at home. I walked around all day so the beer tastes good! I had dinner early so I’m hungry so I sneakily eat some cup ramen. My favorite is the most ordinary ramen , what’s the name again? Yukgaejang ramen. This ramen has a light, refreshing spiciness and no strong flavor. Looks delicious!! Today started with moving, and it was hard to find a house in Mapo, but I’m relieved that I was able to move safely. I failed at the champagne makgeolli, but it was delicious, so that’s good! However, ramen is delicious when eaten in the middle of the night… From tomorrow, I will go out to more places from my house in Mapo as a base! Today’s video is over, good night. After this, there will be a bonus! Today’s expenses Cafe expenses are not insignificant, are they? Thank you for watching until the end! I would be really happy if you subscribe to my channel!
