Our FIRST TIME in CHIANG MAI, Thailand 🇹🇭 – Better than Bangkok?
In this week’s video, we explore Chiang Mai, Thailand, for the first time! Is it better than Bangkok?
With cafes littered around every corner of the city, we decided the perfect way to begin our day was with some coffee! We choose a place called Pimm’s Cafe. Hungry, we decide it’s time to grab ourselves some lunch at Khao Soi Maesai. As the name suggests, we came for one of the most popular dishes of Northern Thailand—khao soi! To go along with our khao soi, we ordered Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiao, a spicy tomato-based soup.
From here, we head to Siri Wattana Market, a local market filled with fresh produce, meat, drinks, and LOTS of great food. Even though we were still a bit full from lunch, we couldn’t resist picking up a few more things. We ordered a passionfruit juice, soi oua (Northern Thai sausage), kap moo (pork rinds), and some local Thai desserts.
We decide to end the day at Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan, one of the 300 beautiful temples located around Chiang Mai.

Yeah, Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiao is basically Thai's version of spaghetti. It's not supposed to be spicy, in fact it's usually more sweet. I much prefer it to Khao Soi.
Haha Thailand is one of your favorite countries in SE Asia but there's only 11 countries in SE Asia. Most people would say Thailand is one of their favorite countries in the World.

สวัสดีค่ะ เชียงใหม่ยินดีต้อนรับ โดยรวมเชียงใหม่เป็นเมืองที่ดี มีวัฒนธรรมประวัติศาสตร์เก่าแก่ วัดสวย ค่าครองชีพราคาอาการค่อนข้างถูก แต่ข้อเสียคือตอนเหนือมักมีค่าฝุ่น pm2.5 สูงติดอันดับโลก หลายคนป่วยทางเดินหายใจ เพราะในช่วงหน้าหนาว และฤดูกาลเก็บเกี่ยวผลผลิต ชาวไร่ประเทศไทยและประเทศเพื่อนบ้านเผาหญ้าฝางในพื้นที่เกษตรกรรม
รัฐบาลประเทศหารือเจรจาทั้งฝั่งพม่า ลาว คาดหวังว่าจะได้รับการแก้ไขในอนาคต

The more coconutty the curry the better 😀 that Khao Soi looked amazing (Blood doesn't always sound inviting but we'll trust you on that one! 😝) 😀 Dying to know what was the blue goo at Wattana 🤣 that sausage looks A LOT like the Salsiccia we grill in Sicily which is also aromatic (more fennel than garlic tho).
How's the general vibe in the city? If it' so filled with coffee shops as you say sounds like an amazing place! Whenever we meet people based in Thailand many end up choosing it over BK, sounds like a really cool place for nomads like you said!

Look at all the produce, look at the wonderful salad bar! We're getting pork rind. Ha, ha! Chiang Mai looks nice. Funny it's that and then very touristy. Surprising about the coffee everywhere.
