【#002 日本旅のすすめ】愛知県の歴史を巡るひとり旅【愛知旅行】[#002 Travel in Japan] Tour the history of Aichi Prefecture
Hello, I`m Shun. This time I’m going to tell you about my solo trip to Aichi. After passing Nagashima Spa Land, I entered Aichi Prefecture. I could see the world’s longest roller coaster, “Steel Dragon”. I arrived at my first destination for today, “Tsubutegaura”. I walked a little from the parking lot. There is a large torii gate built facing the sea here. There is an old story that a long time ago, the gods of Ise on the opposite bank threw stones that fell into Tsubutegaura. The sea is crystal clear and very beautiful. I went in the morning, but it seems to be very beautiful in the evening as well. Beyond the torii gate, a divine sea spreads out, and it is said to be popular as a power spot. The next place I visited was ” Atsuta Shrine is the most famous shrine in Aichi Prefecture. The thing I felt most when I went there was how spacious it was. Nature spreads out here like another world, and it’s very relaxing. The sacred tree of Atsuta Shrine, the “Okusu”, is estimated to be over 1000 years old . It is one of the seven camphor trees at Atsuta Shrine, and it is said that the seven camphor trees were hand-planted by Kobo Daishi (Kukai). There is a lot of history on the walls along the way . I decided to challenge the Happiness Tour to collect five sacred seals, and immediately got the first one in front of the main shrine. There are three sacred seals at Atsuta Shrine inside the shrine grounds and two outside the shrine grounds. I arrived at the location of the remaining two inside the shrine grounds, the “Betsumiya” . “Hachikengu Shrine” This is the second most prestigious shrine after the main shrine. Got the second sacred seal. “Kamichigama Shrine” Known for its academic and warding off evil spirits. Got the third sacred seal. The fourth shrine on the happiness tour is “Takazamusubi Miko Shrine”. The enshrined deity is Takeinadane no Mikoto, a hero who appears in mythology. As the god of “bonds”, he is worshipped as the guardian deity of matchmaking, family harmony, and the local area. Although it is located right next to Atsuta Shrine, it has a quiet and calm atmosphere. Got the fourth sacred seal. The last shrine we visited was “Hikami Anego Shrine”. As the name “Anego” suggests, she is worshipped as the guardian deity of women, and is said to be especially beneficial for women’s health, safe childbirth, and matchmaking. This is a power spot that is known only to those in the know, located in a quiet forest. I got my fifth Goshinin. It took an hour to travel from Nagoya City to Toyokawa City. I arrived at my next destination, “Toyokawa Inari”. “Toyokawa Inari” is a popular power spot visited by worshippers from all over the country. Although it has “Inari” in the name, it is actually a temple and its official name is “Myogon-ji”. First, we went to the main hall of Toyokawa Inari. “Toyokawa Dakinishinten” is worshipped as the god of business prosperity and financial luck .観音菩薩 。 English: It is said that Dakini Shinten appeared accompanied by a fox, and therefore came to be worshipped as Inari. There are many carp and even more over here. We proceed to the inner sanctuary further ahead. The flags were donated by worshippers from all over the country, and due to the large number of them, they are called “Senbon Nobori” (1,000 flags ). We go past Keiunmon Gate and continue on. The “Okunoin” quietly stands in the forest, and has a completely different atmosphere from before. It is a truly mystical place. We head to Reikozuka, which was my favorite place to visit . Reikozuka is a mound or shrine that enshrines foxes, which are considered messengers of the gods in Japanese Shinto and folk beliefs. The evenly spaced fox statues and 1,000 flags are so beautiful that it seems like I could walk there forever. There are approximately 1,000 fox statues, each one of which was donated with a wish or prayer. Reikozuka, lit by sunlight filtering through the trees, is fantastical and feels like it is from another world. As a souvenir, we also tried our hand at the “Fox Fortune Telling Slot”. We put in 300 yen . The foxes are so cute! The result of the fortune was written on a piece of paper inside. The result was a medium fortune. The last place we visited was Yaotomi Shrine. We found a cat . The main shrine is connected to the shrine by the 387-meter-long Takeshima Bridge. Takeshima Bridge is a “barrier” that separates the secular world from the sacred area, and it is said that if you cross it without looking back, your wish will be granted. The sunset was beautiful. I recommend visiting in the evening. We arrived at Takeshima . Five shrines quietly stand within the shrine grounds. Uga Shrine for business prosperity, Daikoku Shrine for matchmaking, Chitose Shrine for longevity and learning, Hachidairyu Shrine for household safety and protection from evil, and Yaotomi Shrine, located in the center. It was a mysterious space where you could quietly hear the sounds of nature and the sea. After visiting the shrine, I went to the other side of the island. I went down the stairs to the beach and before I knew it, the sun had set. The sound of the waves was very soothing. On the opposite bank, there was a lantern quietly standing in the sea. By the time I returned, the sun had completely set and the lights were on. The illuminated Takeshima Bridge had a completely different atmosphere from the way there. This time, I was able to experience the history of Aichi Prefecture. Aichi Prefecture has many famous places, so next time I come, I would like to enjoy the food as well. Thank you for watching. See you on the next trip.
