春の京都桜巡り2025 第５回京都府立植物園

April 9, 2025, the start of spring. I came to Kyoto in search of cherry blossoms in full bloom. Spring Kyoto Cherry Blossom Tour 2025 I will use the municipal subway/Randen one-day ticket to get around. This trip, which will only be by train, starts in Arashiyama. Take the Arashiyama train from Arashiyama to Kurumazaki Shrine. We then toured the cherry blossom trees lining the street between Narutaki Station and Utano Station. Afterwards, we changed from the Arashiyama Line to the municipal subway and took a stroll along the cherry blossom-lined streets of the Keage Incline. After seeing the cherry blossoms at the incline, we took the municipal subway Tozai Line from Keage Station to Karasuma-Oike Station. From there, transfer to the Karasuma Line and head to Kyoto Gyoen National Garden from Marutamachi Station. And now the fifth time. North side of Kyoto Gyoen National Garden. From Imadegawa Station, take the Karasuma Line of the municipal subway to Kitayama Station. Our destination was the Kyoto Botanical Gardens. Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden is the oldest public botanical garden in Japan, having opened on January 1, 1924. In its history spanning more than a century, the botanical garden also went through a period of hardship when it was taken over by the US military for 12 years after Japan’s defeat in World War II. Admission fees have been revised since April 1, 2025. The current admission fee is… General admission: 500 yen High school students and those aged 65 and over pay 250 yen. There are two cherry blossom viewing spots in Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden. One is the “Cherry Cultivars Garden” And the other place is “Cherry Garden”. Take Exit 3 of Kitayama Station to Kitayama Gate. Entry time is 4:17 p.m. There’s still a little time before sunset. While it’s still light out, we head to the Cherry Cultivars Garden, located just west of the Kitayama Gate. The variety is indicated on the trunk of the cherry tree. Enjoy the differences in the petals of each variety. Leaving the Cherry Cultivars Garden, we head towards the cherry blossom grove, admiring the flowers. We arrived at the cherry blossom grove at 5:50 p.m. The sun goes down and the lights come on. This concludes the first part of the cherry blossoms at Kyoto Botanical Gardens.
