メークロン線路市場 | タイのバンコクで絶対にやるべきこと | 一人旅ブログ
A visit to the Melon train market in Bangkok is a musto and a unique life experience. Travel from Bangkok city to the Bangl station. Ride the train for 1 hour to see Thai life along the train line and surprisingly many buildings millimeters from the train. Coming through the market through the extremely narrow space with people and market stalls squished millimeters from the train. That’s crazy. Wow. It was wild being on the train going through the market. Squished between the market and the train. Next, I will walk in the market. Then, I will find my own space, squished as the train goes millimeters from my nose and my body. It’s terrifying and exciting at the same time. My heart rate was up. [Music] It’s really close. Then watch the market go back to normal. I had a 5:30 a.m. pick up from my hotel on this day tour. It’s an early start. Picking up a few others along the way. And it’s almost 2 hours drive to the Banlane train station. [Music] There is a shrine here at Ban Lane Station. Be careful. walk across the tracks. I am so excited to be on this day tour. The train market and the floating markets today. I booked it a couple of weeks ago via get your guide online. The tour provider is big country experience. This day tour cost $55 Australian. The train will be here in a couple of minutes and we don’t have much time to look around. The train is arriving. [Music] This is the end of the train line and I will ride the train right to the other end of the line. 1 hour [Music] Everybody out. Uh there yeah any where? Yeah. [Applause] 2. So, we’re going on the train ride for 1 hour and to the market station. I think we’re back [Music] together. You need to keep everything in the train like the window is open but do not look out the window. Do not put a finger out the window. You’ll see why. Oh my goodness, that is so close to the train. Wow. said you can’t put your head out the window. I can see why a lot of uh buildings and plants wow almost touching this train like seriously close. Whoa, that’s close. Holy moly. I’m not going to stick the camera near the window. This window is open and there’s buildings just scraping past. I love to see Thai life, houses, culture, different ways of living, different buildings. It is so interesting. There is a huge market here. It would be great to visit. unbelievably close to the train for these buildings. It’s fascinating to experience and see. Wow. Jeez. It’s a very noisy ride. The train itself is quite loud and the horn is going a lot. Oh my goodness, they’re close. Oh wow, they’re just millimeters off hitting this train. All these houses just back onto this train line. It’s like in millimeters. Calm’s in the water. Hi, I’m Linda. I’m here as a travel guide so you know what to expect. Can plan your travels for a better experience to travel better. There are lots of salt pans here. These houses all along here are in the water over the water. It’s very interesting to see different ways of life living like this. There’s houses in the water. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. There’s some houses that are here between the water and the train. And there’s a tiny arrow. Tiny little bit. This is uh the salt pans. Sea salt. Huge salt pans here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Otherwise, Anybody? I think Hello. We are arriving at the Mong market near the Mong station and everyone is here to see it arrive. Tourists with their phones. Oh wow, there’s so many phones. Everyone has a camera. [Music] Please help Jeez, they’re squished between a wall, a market, and the train. So terrifying close. Oh my goodness. And that’s what I’m going to do. That is scary. Wow. What a unique experience. Goodness. Wow. Wow. Hey, Amazing. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Applause] Wow. Heat. [Music] Yeah. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Off the boat. Heat. Heat. is amazing. It’s 8:38 a.m. and we’re at the station. It’s time to get off. Wow, what a ride. What a unique experience. Be back at the train at 9:10 a.m. So, we have 30 minutes to look at the market and find a spot to squish while the train goes past. It leaves at 9:00 a.m. I take a photo of the time so I can remember. Traveling solo, I don’t have anyone else to help me remember the time to be back. So, take a photo of it. Write it down so you can remind yourself if you forget. I saw this pretty cool train ride and it was uh it was wild being on the train going through the market seeing everyone out the window squished between the market and the train with their cameras. So now I’m going to have a look at the market and the train’s going to leave in 20 minutes that there Everyone is getting their photo with the train. Oh my god, it’s crazy busy. And this this front of the train. Front of the train here. [Music] [Music] There’s a train behind [Music] me. All [Music] right, I need to walk across the road here and walk down the tracks along the market and have a look. Wow. This is literally on the tracks. Jeez. It’s so busy. This is the market on the tracks. I’m walking on the tracks right now. Oh, there are so many things to see and smell and buy. If you wish, it is so busy and tight for space. It’s squishy and noisy. This is the market on the tracks. How was it? One small [Music] already [Music] [Music] Welcome coffee. [Music] [Music] on the tracks. The train’s going to go through back here in like 15 minutes. [Music] [Music] Yeah, it was too Yeah. Enjoy it. [Music] The train is departing. Everyone must find a spot to squish. Now the market pulls down their roofs and moves out of the way. Clearing the tracks, pulling the veranders back. Train’s going to come [Music] through. It’s personal responsibility to get out of the way here. Well, the market holders are helping people to get out of the way and making sure everyone’s squished back in their little spaces. But literally, like everyone’s free to move just standing there. Not like we’re not sitting on seats like in Vietnam here. Personal responsibility to stand right and not get hurt by this train. Okay. Okay. See this? Okay. [Music] Holy moly. Jeez. Jeez. Oh, my heart rate is going up. I am excited and terrified. Heat. Heat. [Music] that really Come over here. And the market goes back together again. The roofs come down, [Music] right? And the market’s brand is coming back out. Hey, stop. Give me five. [Music] Go back to And then back in the minivan and we’re off to the floating markets to be continued. Happy traveling. Travel safe and enjoy the journey. Please subscribe for more travel vlogs and travel guides. [Music]
Maeklong Railway Market is the most popular railway market in Thailand, this market is located on the railway tracks. Part 1 of this day tour from Bangkok finds me on the train from Ban Laem station for an hour to Maeklong, riding past people squished between the train and the market stalls; then I explore the market on the tracks, and next I am standing very close to the train as it leaves.
