【旅とホテル in 軽井沢】字幕付 アートと自然が織りなす美!ししいわハウス宿泊記&周辺散策

Hello, this is Juno. This time I stayed at a hotel called “Shishiiwa House” in Karuizawa. A designer hotel designed by a world-renowned architect A wonderful space surrounded by the warmth of wood and art. Enjoy a delicious dinner and breakfast! A taste of art that will thrill your senses It was the ultimate healing space. We hope you enjoy! It all started here at Tokyo Station The small tiled windows and dome as seen from platforms 1 and 2. Tokyo Station continues to quietly write its history today. Wow, my heart always trembles when I stand here If you walk down the wide street in front of the station, you will reach the Imperial Palace. This square-like road is called Gyokou (Going Out) Street. The road was named “Gyokou (Going Out) Street” because the Emperor would use it when going out. It is a special place where you can feel the history and beauty of Tokyo. Rain gutters Now, let’s go to Karuizawa. It takes about an hour by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Karuizawa. Purchase your ticket at the ticket office Heading to the platform Realizing that departure time was approaching, we hurried! I bought lunch at a convenience store and got on board. I’m glad I made it in time It’s already lunchtime For lunch, I chose the famous pork cutlet sandwich from Nikuno Mansei. It’s fun to open the package Wow, looks delicious! I’m grateful that it’s cut into easy-to-eat pieces. This is when I noticed how cute the packaging was. Pig, so cute! Even fortune telling!? There’s nothing on the backside Spot the Difference😭 It’s the best I also bought an additional Parisian sandwich. The corn potage is said to be “extra thick”! Moving away from Tokyo An hour goes by in a flash Arrived in Karuizawa I found a cut fruit shop near the station ticket gate. It’s strawberry season now I bought a pack of strawberries and ate them while I moved. Beautiful stained glass welcomes you I found a nice looking coffee shop just outside the ticket gate! Somehow… I think places like this are bound to be delicious. “Welcome to Karuizawa!” This handmade feel is so warm It seems that the waiting room is opposite the coffee shop. Wow, it’s spacious and has high ceilings. It’s warm and you can watch TV. It’s so comfortable I feel like I’m going to fall asleep Before taking a taxi, I took a short walk around the station. Discover Patagonia! It wasn’t there when I came here before yeah? It looks like they sell sake too! It was an open and lovely store. Now, let’s head to the hotel. By the way, when I looked up the coffee shop I saw at Karuizawa Station earlier, The chef is said to have trained at a Michelin star restaurant. As expected, it must be delicious! I’d love to go next time The Shishiiwa House where we will be staying this time was designed by world-renowned architect Shigeru Ban. This is our first stay in 4 years! It’s arrived! I’m excited! Once you pass through the front desk and the narrow hallway… Wow What a beautiful masterpiece! The triangular roof and pillar-free space give a sense of openness A large window overlooks the forest It’s like being one with nature I also really like the color of the tiles in the bar space. Here you can enjoy welcome sweets. Soba tea and Caramel made with sweet sake! The gentle sweetness soothed my body and mind. After checking in, we will walk to another accommodation building. There are three buildings in Shishiiwa House, No. 1 to No. 3. This is building No. 1. This time we were traveling as a group of four with children, so we booked two No.1 family rooms. Previously, check-in was only available in building No. 1. This is map No.1 The whole structure is curved to follow the lines of the trees. The entrance to “C” where we are staying. Wow, beautiful! The art displayed throughout the facility is also a highlight. The design of the key is also nice. Now let’s take a room tour. This is the more compact of the two rooms. Wow Simple, natural and relaxing This is what a final resting place should feel like I’m so happy to be back here after such a long time. I’d love to enjoy some forest bathing on the terrace! This work is by an artist named Sadamasa Motonaga. It’s humorous and charming. The air conditioner is hidden to enhance the view. Inside the cabinet… A variety of beautiful amenities This sliding door is much heavier than it looks. On the top shelf there is water and a memo pad. This one-stroke design is also cute! There are detailed instructions on the side on how to dispose of it. Next door there is a closet and a safe. This mat is the only patterned item in the room. It brings warmth and intimacy to the room. A small table at the bedside This bed was also designed by Shigeru Ban. The floor lamp also has a noble appearance. Simple is the best trash can Behind the door… Wow, what a lovely bathroom! Although it is compact, you can feel the attention to detail everywhere. The world-famous “toto” brand Another stylish body wash The towels are placed in a very elegant way. My first wooden teacup! Cute logo on amenities The tile is very thin and the color is very good. What a clean space! Shampoo, conditioner, body soap The designer’s attention to detail is apparent. This is something that is often worn by rich people. It’s very fluffy and looks comfortable How do you read it? Pro? Wear this and add a Cheshire Cat, a rocking chair and a glass of wine for a perfect look Air conditioner remote control at bedside This was the introduction of the first room. There is another room on the other side of the lovely living/dining room. Wow What a pleasant space it is. Utilizing space in a circular building The lamp that was in the previous room is here too. The air conditioner is also hidden away. This is the world-famous Mitsubishi air conditioner. Hiroshi Sugimoto’s sketches on a memo pad are on display at the hotel. Tada! It’s a closet. The water design is really cute Is it okay to open it? Dedicated space for electrical outlets! It seems like my sense of beauty has been sharpened😭✨ A space designed to match a series of gentle curves The side of the pillar separating the sofa space from the bathroom is also tiled. A switch corner located close to both the sofa and the bed Simple, yet profound When you enter this space, you are immersed in a microcosm and soak in its delicate beauty. Behind the minimalism lies the designer’s love. A beautifully designed baby bed was provided. It fits in this space! Miffy is my daughter’s personal property. This is the study space Is it a lithograph? The edition number is written. Chairs designed by Shigeru Ban and Stool 60 by Alvar Aalto Why are the curves of wood so soothing? Hotel original memo pad Here is the bathroom with a bathtub Comes with a small window that allows you to see the greenery outside while soaking. The tiles are laid out to follow the curves of the architecture! Love! The powder room is also sophisticated. “Ploh” is the same as a bathrobe There is a trolley underneath, making it easy to take out amenities. I’ve never seen such small tires before! How cute! There is a toilet right next to it. Stylish foreign books by the bedside 🙂 🙂 Leave your room and explore No matter where you frame it, it’s so beautiful that the camera can’t keep up! Climbing the stairs There are two more rooms The fire extinguisher is hidden away This living room can be shared by guests in a total of four rooms on the first and second floors. Bernard Benét’s work has an unusually strong presence. The common area has a kitchenette. The ultimate in flat design The bottom drawer is stocked with tableware It is unified by a simple design Coffee, tea, mug, sugar, stirrer Next to it is a refrigerator And next door… A beautiful little sink was hidden away. The living room furniture was also designed by Shigeru Ban What a unique seat! How do you reupholster it? A design that makes use of the cross section of plywood. What is this round hole? A blanket that brings color and comfort to a corner of your living room Hand Clean Gel There is also a toilet in the common area. Compact and beautiful When you open the door at the back of the common area Tadaa!!! This is the Grand Room of Shishiiwa House No.1, a shared space for all guests. Furniture designed by Shigeru Ban and Alvar Aalto is displayed throughout the building. This is my favorite place in the hotel. The menu board lists room service and paid activities. Various events are held every month, including architecture tours and tours of Karuizawa’s waterfalls. You can order room service via Whats App and LINE You can also try yoga, make Japanese tea, and take part in the tea ceremony! Dining chairs with an elegant design made from paper tubes The seating is also very comfortable I used to have breakfast at this table. A comfortable sofa opposite the fireplace Beautiful flowers to decorate your table I want to gather around the fireplace with everyone. A B C Three units have direct access to the Grand Room It’s dinner time We will have dinner at No.2 where we checked in earlier, so we will walk there. I was excited to see the No. 2 illuminated in the darkness. My first dinner at Shishiiwa House We climb up a gently curving slope. Wow! The impressive beauty takes your breath away. I’m looking forward to it A beautiful space enveloped in soft light. The concept is “A culinary journey rooted in the essence of Karuizawa.” It seems that they are pursuing ingredients unique to Karuizawa. Executive chef Okamoto-san was also active as the head chef at a famous hotel in Tokyo. A full menu of signature cocktails! Amazake, plum mojito, cherry blossom, matcha, brown rice, and more! I chose the non-alcoholic “Sakura” The sweetness and saltiness of the cherry blossoms spreads throughout your mouth… it’s so delicious it almost melts in your mouth. The most beautiful amuse-bouche dishes – the taste is beyond imagination Let go of your thoughts and simply let your senses take over. It’s like my five senses are awakening. This is the kids’ plate my daughter ordered. Hashed beef, garlic rice, fried salmon, etc. Wow… Beauty beyond words It’s so beautiful I can’t help but stare at it Something amazing was brought to me This is a rare fillet part of venison and only two of these can be taken from one cow. Chinese cabbage / oysters / snow crab The delicious taste of winter melts in your mouth and disappears. The accompanying bread is also slightly sweet and delicious. I don’t want to finish eating and it’s confusing The next ingredient is mushrooms, which are packed with flavor. Wow It’s like a dream A mellow yolk, nutritious mushrooms, and a moment of bliss Next up are some fresh vegetables from the farm. Wow The vitality of the vegetables bursts forth even on the plate. It’s a vibrant feast. By the way, the cutlery is also very nice. 😭✨ Concentrated beauty, a gift from the deep forest I’ll enjoy having this Wow, it’s so delicious The fork won’t stop! Wow!!! …… (Ascension) Desserts: Mandarin oranges / Sabayon / Hazelnuts “Sabayon” is a cream made from egg yolks that originated in Italy. Sweet clouds and the occasional crunchy, beloved nuts The second dessert is Cigar-like chocolate and soba tea The tea leaves are also dancing gracefully. It was a dining experience that delighted every cell in my body. I came to see the photo exhibition of the owner’s collection on the first floor. This is my favorite photo Back to building No.1 This space is called “LIBRARY” and guests can relax freely. Return to “C” via the terrace I decided to have some coffee and tea after the meal. Enjoy a blissful tea time while basking in the afterglow of dinner. I always get excited when I open a tea packet with a logo on it. The moment you open it, the aroma of tea leaves and coffee fills the room. Phew A very rich moment Now it’s time for a bath The walls curve to follow the curves of the building, and the tiles that fit closely to them give a sense of beauty and love. Amenities, tada! Children’s toothbrushes are “softer” Baby is dreaming Amenity Unpacking Ceremony So cute! It has a logo on it! These are environmentally friendly bamboo amenity products called “MiYO ORGANIC” this is? It’s toothpaste in paper form! When I put it in my mouth after placing it in the middle of my toothbrush like this, it melted immediately and filled my mouth with bubbles. It’s time to sleep good night It’s morning Wow, it’s a beautiful sunny day! The winter forest of Karuizawa is sparkling and breathtakingly beautiful. I am healed by the morning light and shade. We move to No.2 for breakfast. The air is cool and feels good In the morning, the sunlight pours down and it’s a beautiful sight. The breakfast menu also seems to use plenty of Nagano ingredients. You can choose between Japanese and Western food. Since it was such a special occasion, I decided to get one each for my husband and I. What an open and relaxing space Chopsticks, chopstick rests, and small beans were placed there. It will be used for some event Art of nature, art of man A moment to sharpen your senses and enjoy the food Children’s breakfast She enjoyed changing the settings to suit my own tastes. It seems like children’s sense of beauty has also been refined! Focaccia, sausage, fried egg, lentil soup, etc. The tea leaves are dancing gracefully again today. This is a Western breakfast. Potato rösti, homemade green salad, Emmental cheese, lentil soup, overnight oats and fruit These overnight oats were mind-blowingly delicious. It was sunny just now, but now it’s snowing Taking a short break in the Grand Room in the morning The morning light shines in brilliantly Outside, the snow is falling quietly Wow, it’s raining quite a bit I want to stay here forever gazing at the snowy scenery outside. A spacious and sophisticated design, what a luxurious experience! In spring and summer, the windows are open, allowing you to feel more one with nature. By the way, these slippers are surprisingly thin. The soles are made of a single piece of leather, so they feel very delicate on the floor and are incredibly comfortable to wear. It was a really short stay It’s time to check out Check out at No.2 and leave. Thank you “SHISHI-IWA-HOUSE”. Walk for about 15 minutes to a small shopping mall called “Harunire Terrace”. The sound of the water, the reflection of the light, and the clarity of the water gently touch the soul. arrival! “Harunire Terrace” is a shopping mall operated by Hoshino Resorts, a famous hotel brand. Buildings and terraces are arranged along the river, lined with sophisticated shops and restaurants typical of Karuizawa. yeah? For a moment I thought it was a capybara Because it’s winter, there aren’t many people around so you can relax! Our main goal was the gelato shop “HARVEST NAGAI FARM”. It is made daily using milk delivered directly from the farm and is only sold on the day, making it extremely fresh. Beautiful colors! Lots of interesting flavors! I like matcha and chocolate, my daughter likes pumpkin and chocolate I love the fluffy texture and rich flavor, so I go there again and again. Next, we went to the food specialty shop “Kokopelli” So many jams, sauces, and seasonings made in Nagano! I’m excited! What should I buy today? A wide selection of miso and rice accompaniments Wow, I found some delicious looking miso! This time I chose the “Cassis Cream Cheese Dip” which uses miso and Karuizawa-grown cassis. From Harunire Terrace, take the bus back to Karuizawa Station. Bye-bye Harunire Terrace By the way, Japanese buses and trains have a heating system that blows warm air around the passengers’ feet. The healing effect of this warm air is amazing, and I am very grateful to those who have adopted this system. The warm breeze was so pleasant, the sky was clear, and it felt so good that I almost fell asleep. The Shinkansen was “full”! I was suddenly awakened. I’ll return to Tokyo on the 19:22 flight to Tokyo. In the evening, we enjoyed shopping at the huge outlet shopping mall in front of Karuizawa Station. Wow, a view of Tokyo. Currently in Tokyo Thank you for watching Please subscribe, like and comment! See you again soon!
