O Adeus ao Kong – Último Episódio da Temporada I Ep. 209

Yeah, guys, it’s time to put Kong away this summer, waiting for us to go on our next adventure. Look at him here on camera. Look, the police… And our last days were here in the middle of nowhere, in the Aragon region. We stayed, I think, more than a week here, because it was raining a lot, there was nothing to do. So the thing was to stay inside Kong. What did we do? We found a place in the middle of nowhere, with no one around, and we stayed there in the middle of the trees, the forest, the sound of nature… It was a vacation, right, Gru? It was amazing! But now it’s time to walk, right, guys? So we are now heading to the sea. We are leaving the mountains of the Aragon region and heading to the Valencia region. Remember Valencia, where we stayed? Spoiler: but why are we going there? Because it’s almost time to go back to Joy. And this year we want to leave Kong there in the region, close to Valencia, which is on the Mediterranean Sea. Why? Because we want to make Joy and Kong meet! So we’re going to come with Joy, our summer will be there in the Mediterranean region. We haven’t decided which marina yet, but we’re already taking Kong nearby. So these next few days we’re going to enjoy the sea, to get to know a region there that we don’t know. And then, after that, we’re going to Joy to start the summer season. Hi, big guy! We arrived at the sea. Guys, it’s time to take off your shoes, boots, put on your Havaiana flip-flops, bikini and hit the sea. I think today will be the first time that we sleep with Kong with the sound of the sea. Because he’s here, look: Kong is here, the sea is here, look! Wow, I was looking here… Valencia, which is where we wintered Joy in our first season here in Spain, is just around the corner. You can even see the port’s bindaches. It’s very sideways. To think that we left here to go to the Mediterranean, to go to Ibiza, Sardinia, Italy… Wow, how nostalgic it is here, to see this sea! And it’s a beautiful day today. It’s just a little windy here, but… wow, what a difference in temperature! It was cold up there , it’s hot here, I can already feel summer coming, man! Look at this, how incredible: I can see Ibiza from here! Look there. I’m looking at noon, one o’clock, two o’clock… Look at the map. If at two o’clock on the map it really is Ibiza, the only island in front of us is Ibiza. Then it’s Ibiza! Wow, you can see Ibiza! I never realized that you could see Ibiza from here in Valencia. How many miles is it to get there? It’s around 80 to 90 nautical miles. It’s very close. And we arrived at another place here where you can stop Kong, and we arrived here at a very beautiful beach. Did you know that here in Spain there are some beaches with very blue water? And it’s not a stone beach, everything is sand. Still white sand! We’re going to leave Kong here now and go for a walk, because there’s a storm forecast this afternoon, around 4 o’clock in the afternoon. It’s very beautiful, you can’t see anything, but soon the rocks will arrive, right? So we’re going to take the opportunity to take a walk here and get to know it. He’s been doing a rally these days with Kong, look at the dirt. Now you have to wash it. Clean expedition truck doesn’t tell the true story, right? I think there’s no problem with us staying here. There are a lot of motorhomes, and the app we use says they are authorized. But the police came by, stopped in front of the man, looked at him… but then they left. They didn’t hit there. And so, you can see that Duda and I are wearing here the matching outfit with Kong. A good day to him. It’s all right. Let’s take a walk here. If there’s a problem, we’ll leave. Look at Kong there, he got a cute gray friend! I looked at the camera, look there, the police are taking a photo of Kong. And we are worried… Oh, I don’t want to laugh. Keep laughing! He took the photo to check the FBI files in Spain. It might give you a fine… Could it be? Was it a photo of a fine? Then I received it. Took a photo of Kong’s license plate. There’s a photo of Kong. Go, oh beast! Look how cool what the residents do for the cats: they give them food, a house, and water. This is approximately 300 km from Barcelona. It’s a very beach town, but here in winter it seems like there’s no one living there, because there’s a really nice promenade here to walk on and lots of little houses. They are half abandoned, with the traps closed. There’s no one here, just me and Duda walking around. It looks like a ghost town, right? And the weather isn’t the best around here, but it’s time to tidy up Kong. Because in a few days we’re going to leave it here in Spain, so we can go back to Joy and start the summer season. The first thing is to wash the whole Kong, remove all the clay things we have, give the chassis a shine and tidy up the entire interior, so it can sit for about 5 months in this parking lot that we set up here in Spain. Today, here at Kong, I decided to clean all the solar panels, because I realized that, although we have 1300 W here at Kong, with the sun up there it should be charging the batteries with more or less 1000 W. And I realized that it wasn’t. It was charging around 600 W, which is almost half. This is normal, because this is a flexible panel, so it does not reach 100% of what is written there in terms of voltage and watts. So I decided to clean it, because there is usually a very thin layer of dirt on top, and this can prevent it from charging the batteries. But do you know what I’m thinking? I’m thinking that maybe these panels are out of date and they aren’t capturing the sun’s energy as they should. So I’m cleaning it and monitoring it afterwards, to see if it will improve or not. Kong, I’m realizing, is very similar to Joy: the first year you buy a boat, you just adjust the boat. Fixing the little things… So, an expedition truck, like a boat, are practically made by hand, so there is a lot of room for error. So this year here at Kong has been about checking everything: seeing the things that are working properly, the things that aren’t working properly — and that way we can identify, resolve, so that we can, yes, go out on our great adventure. An expedition away from everything: if it breaks, we’re screwed and we’ll have to fix it ourselves. So it’s good that everything works properly. We don’t always know where the road will lead. And, to be quite honest, I was often afraid: afraid of making mistakes, afraid of not succeeding, afraid of what was still invisible to my eyes. At first, I believed it was simple, that you just had to turn the Kong key and accelerate, take any dirt road and that was it. And soon the most incredible adventures of our lives would come. But the road… ah, it teaches. She slowly reveals that everything has its time. That before getting lost in this big world, we first need to find ourselves. Knowing every noise Kong makes, every limit we have, every hidden courage. Learn to respect the rhythm and listen to silence too. That’s what we experienced this season. It was a season of a lot of learning. And today I move forward with an open heart, overflowing with dreams… bringing fears too, because they are part of the journey — but without letting them stop me. Lud wakes up at 7 am to wash Kong, and it’s 8:53 am. I’m already really looking forward to washing it, because tomorrow we leave Kong here and head back to Joy. And he’s really dirty, because it’s going to be his first wash in 5 months. There’s a car wash there with high pressure, but there’s no ladder, you know, to climb up. I think it will wash. There’s a guy there with a concrete mixer washing it, in front of me, taking a while. Let’s see how long it will take to wash Kong. It costs €1 every 4 minutes. Let’s see how long it will take for me to wash it. Let’s go. Kong on, everything ready — it’s time to deliver Kong to the warehouse where we’ll leave him for the next 5 months. It’s not very far from here. We chose this place specifically because it was close. So, in another 20 minutes, we’ll be there. Leave it, take the taxi and we’ll start a new journey. He even woke up sad today, because we’re going to return it… Wow, we can’t see anything. There’s what, 100 m of visibility up front? And we are 5 km from where we are going to leave Kong. We’re getting there — last 950m driving the Kong this season. You know that sense of mission accomplished? We got Kong here safely without incident. Look at those curves, go slow there. Legal. I already miss driving the Kong. I didn’t even leave it there and I already miss it. And I think he misses me too… I feel him making little noises like that. Duda goes there to see where he can go with Kong. The entrance to the place is a bit confusing. Yeah, guys… it’s time to put Kong away this summer, waiting for us to go on our next adventure. Wow, it will be stored for about five, six months. And then… it makes my heart ache, because this winter season was so nice. Look… we thought Ketchup was cool, but Kong exceeded all expectations. And damn, we drove it for almost 5,000 km . We passed through Austria, Germany, France, Spain… And, wow, we got to know so many things! So, each trip, each season that we go on — whether with Joy, with Ketchup or with Kong — there are so many new things that we learn in life. There’s a truck passing by here, that’s why I keep looking… We’re right on the corner of the street here, and I’m scared, right? But back to the topic here: there are so many cool things that we discover, experience… Example: when we bought the Kong — I think there’s even a video of me saying — that we didn’t want the Kong to go around in small towns, we wanted to go to the middle of the woods, we wanted to do rallies… And when we got the Kong, we discovered that, yes, you can get into small towns with it. Obviously, if the cars can get in, Kong can too. I think there were very few places we couldn’t go with him. But we enjoyed so much, discovered so much. France is so cool! Besides Paris, you know? There are the castles, the Loire region, then there is that part of La Bèze, La Rochelle, there are the vineyards. Here in Spain there are deserts. There was a day when I felt very much like I was in Arizona. Do you remember when we went with Jubi to Arizona, to that place where Forrest Gump was filmed, in Utah? So… here in Spain there is a place that is very similar, close to Teruel. Speaking of Teruel, I also think it was the highlight of our trip. It was when we arrived in a small town and there was a party that is considered the Romeo and Juliet of Spain — which is Elizabeth’s Wedding. And that day the whole city was celebrating. They organized the city as if it were medieval times, people with clothes full of animal skins, everyone with makeup, their hair… Seriously, it felt like I was entering another world, you know? It was surreally cool. Next year, if by chance we’re around at that time (it happens once a year), we’ll go there again. It was awesome! Duda is coming back. It’s not right on this street, it’s on the street down there. There’s a big sign there, so just turn right on the street we were on, and then turn right. It has a workshop and a place where it is kept. Difficult, you see, to find. The guys don’t put up a sign. You have to guess. I go to the reception, which seems to be a little dark, to see if anyone is there. So while I’m at it: if you’re not already subscribed to this channel, now’s the time! Go there, subscribe, press that bell, like, do all those cool things so you can receive our videos whenever they are available on YouTube. I will be back in a moment. Wow, I was very lucky. The guys were leaving, they left the keys, everything up there in that white warehouse. Stay inside, Kong. So it will be super protected from the weather, rain, everything. And we’re going to go up, open the door, put Kong inside. There’s still a place for us to give the batteries a final charge, so they’ll stay in great shape for the next 5 months, stored there. It’s going to be a bit of a shock here, look. Nobody expected this, no, oh… Here we go, looking for a place for Kong to be safe. Look at the ravine next door. He said: “I just hope that this cliff doesn’t collapse.” Opening Kong’s new home. Wow, you have to open it with iron. The head, my God… But maybe it’s better for me to stay down there, right? It’s going to fall, right when Kong is passing by. Open the door here. We’re going to fill this vacancy here. Look, the warehouse is really big, but there was only one space left. So we were very lucky to be able to leave Kong here for the next few months. It’s going to be right here, oh, in this spot. We’re even going to give a little boost here to the electricity there. Now it’s time to put it inside. Go up this door here. Look, do me a favor: when I come in here with Kong, just make sure that door doesn’t come down. Kong stopped for his beauty rest. The next few months he will stay there, in good health, just recovering. So… how do you feel about leaving Kong there? Your feeling of leaving him there for a few months? Ah, it’s hard to even explain what I feel today. For many years I lived to work. I don’t regret it, no, because that’s what gave me the foundation to get here. But the truth is that for a long time I forgot to live for myself. Today, looking at Kong standing there, I see much more than a truck. I see a piece of the life that I chose to build with the one I love. This project was born from a dream — and it became reality because we both believed in it, even without knowing exactly what it would lead to. It wasn’t quick and it wasn’t easy either. But perhaps the most important things in life are like this: we build slowly, at the right time. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that it’s never too late to adjust your sails, to dream again, to allow yourself to truly live.
