東山スカイタワーは、名古屋市千種区の東山動植物園に併設されている展望タワー。 展望台は、360度のパノラマビューを楽しむことができ、高さ地上134m。（タワーは80mの丘の上にあるため、標高では214m） 名古屋市制100周年を記念して、1989年に建てられた。展望室は地上100m(標高180m)にあり、 JRセントラルタワーズ、名古屋テレビ塔、ナゴヤドームなど市内を一望できるほか、天気がよければ、 遠くに御嶽山や鈴鹿山脈の山並みを眺めることができる。周りに高い建物がないので、とても素晴らしい夜景が眺められる。 2004年7月「日本夜景遺産」に認定され、「夜景100選」にも認定された国内有数の夜景スポットとして有名。開館時間／9:00～21:30（入館は21:00まで）休館日／毎週月曜日。アクセスは、地下鉄・東山線「星ヶ丘駅」６番出口を出て、左(星が丘テラス方面)へ約15分。「東山公園駅」３番出口を出て、南の方角(東山動植物園正門方面)へも約15分。スカイタワー前駐車場は、17時以降無料（21時閉鎖）
Higashiyama Sky Tower is an observation tower attached to Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden in Chikusa Ward, Nagoya City. The observation deck offers a 360-degree panoramic view and is 134m above ground. (The tower is located on an 80m hill, so at an altitude of 214m) Built in 1989 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Nagoya’s establishment. The observation room is located 100m above ground (180m above sea level), and offers a panoramic view of the city, including JR Central Towers, Nagoya TV Tower, and Nagoya Dome, and if the weather is good, you can see Mt. Ontake and the mountain range of Suzuka Mountains in the distance. There are no tall buildings around, so you can enjoy a very wonderful night view. It was recognized as one of Japan’s leading night view spots, being recognized as the “Japan Night View Heritage” in July 2004 and also recognized as one of the “100 Night Views.” Opening hours: 9:00-21:30 (admission until 9:00) Closed: Every Monday. To access, exit Exit 6 of Hoshigaoka Station on the Higashiyama Subway Line and take about 15 minutes to the left (towards Hoshigaoka Terrace). It takes about 15 minutes to exit Exit 3 of Higashiyama Park Station and head south (towards the main gate of Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Garden). Parking in front of Sky Tower is free after 5pm (closed at 9pm)
