Take the Kyoto Bus No. 201. Hello everyone, welcome to the hiking-office. My name is Xiaoyu. Today we are going to climb Mt. Hiei and visit the famous Enryakuji Temple. We have now taken the bus. We have just taken the bus No. 201 and got off at “Demachiyanagi Station” and got off to go to Mt. Hiei. There are 2 ways. The first way is to take the Kyoto Bus in the direction of “Gion” or “Hyakumanben” and get off at “Demachiyanagi Station” or take the Keihan Railway Keihan Main Line and get off at “Demachiyanagi Station”. Then we will take the Eizan Railway from “Demachiyanagi Station” to “Yase Hieizanguchi”, get off there and transfer to the cable car. We will now go to the tram gate . We turn right here and after turning right, this is one of the entrances and exits of Keihan Railway. We turn right again and we officially arrive at the “Demachiyanagi Station” of Eizan Railway. From the “Demachiyanagi Station” of Keihan Railway, Exit 42 can also be directly connected to the “Demachiyanagi Station” of Eizan Railway . It is divided into 2 lines, one is the “Kurama Line” and the other is the “Eisan Line” The “Eisan Line” goes to “Yase-Hieizanguchi” and the “Kurama Line” goes to “Kibuneguchi” From “Kurama” , you can go to “Kibune Shrine” to “Yase Hieizanguchi”. It costs 280 yen for adults and 140 yen for children. We are in the direction of platform 1 , “Yase Hieizanguchi”. You can also use ICOCA to enter the station by swiping your card. We have now arrived at the “Yase Hieizanguchi” station. Its quite special design is that when leaving the train, there is a coin box here, which is basically the ICOCA Induction or if you are buying a ticket , just put it in. After the conductor reads it, you can leave the train directly and exit the station directly from here. After exiting the station, it is from this way. Then we go straight to it. The sign says “Eisan Cable Car ” “Hieizan Peak” aspect. It actually has 2 cable cars. One cable car is “Eisan Cable Car” and we will take to the “Cable Car Hiei Station”. We will start hiking when we get here . It’s just that there is a section of the cable car. It is a rope way that can go directly to the top of the Mountain Hiei . There is no need to climb. People can just take it directly there and turn right when you come out. There is a sign for the Cable Car Hiei’s direction, turn right towards the direction of the cable car , because there is also a nearby attraction , Ruriko-in Temple, which is 400 meters away from the “Cable Car Yase Station”. I heard it is very beautiful , but the entrance fee is a bit expensive, 2,000 yen for an adult, 1,000 yen for a junior high school student and above. We still plan to stop by and have a look . Now we have arrived at the Ruriko-in Temple, which is hidden in Yase, Kyoto . .. Closed. Today’s video will end here. Goodbye. Many people have recommended it. It is a beautiful scenic spot and an antique courtyard that is worth visiting in all seasons . However, it will only open at a specific time in each season . (We should do some research before the trip.) If you want to go, you should also check the official website to confirm the time. Let’s continue now. We are going to take the cable car to the mountain from Yase Station . Let’s take a look at its fare. The one way ride on the Eizan Cable Car is A. It costs 550 yen for adults and 270 yen for children. The round trip price is 1100 / 540. If there is B, it is the Ropeway mentioned just now . After Hiei Station, there is also the Hiei Ropeway that goes directly to the top of Mountain Hiei. It costs 900 yen for adults and 450 for children. If there is a round trip, it is 1800/900. In this way, we are now starting from Yase Station, and then we will take the Eizan cable car to Hiei Station halfway up the mountain. Then we will start walking from the trail here and pass through these places . We will explain the route in more detail latter and go directly to the top of the mountain. Or there is a second way. If you don’t want to walk, you can take the ropeway directly to the top of Mountain Hiei. From here, you can stroll around the top of the mountain and then go to Enryakuji Temple . What is the difference between the Hiei Cable Car and the Aerial Ropeway? The Hiei Cable Car is a rail- type car that is similar to a tram . It is an upward cable car. The ropeway is similar to the Maokong Cable Car we have in Taipei. The Sun Moon Lake Cable Car is hang on the sky and you can see a lot of scenery. We are now inside the tram and it is about to leave at 10:30. We have arrived at the “Hiei Station” of the Eizan Cable Car halfway up the mountain . Take a look at the Cable Car. We are leaving Hiei Station now. The scenery here is pretty good after leaving the station. If you want to take a ride directly to the top of the mountain , friends who would not like to hike can directly transfer to Mt. Hiei’s aerial ropeway. The suspended type of aerial ropeway goes directly to the top of the mountain. Since we are on the hiking route today , we will start from here. Let’s take a quick look. You can already get a glimpse of some scenery from here. Let’s go to its waiting room waiting room. Be careful of bears! ! After we came over from the cable car entrance lounge, we can see a Kyoto trail written here. We started from Kitayama 1 and then started to hike in the direction of Konpon Chudo. The altitude here is 687 meters and we are already halfway up the mountain. It has this indicator written here . Then I will talk about our route today. The hiking route to Mt. Hiei and Enryakuji Temple is the climbing route we just got from the cable car station. Starting from Hiei Station , we will pass a fork in the road and sign for Kyoto trail 2. If we continue walking, we will arrive at the Garden Museum Hiei, which is also the top of Mt. Hiei. If we continue walking, we will reach this. Next to Azalea Hill, we will continue to the direction of “Monument to Protect the Country” and finally arrive at Benkeishui. Finally, we will arrive at “Ensukeji Temple”. The main temple on its east tower. This is just below the Eizan ropeway route. We just walked a short section of this forest trail and arrived at the second point of the Kyoto trail just mentioned, Kitayama 2 Kyoto. We just walked from here to the fork in the trail. We are now taking the right direction towards the top of Mt. Hiei. There is a sign here. If you go left, you will go to Enryakuji Temple. There is also the Garden Museum we want to go to at the top of Mt. Hiei. If Hiei looks at the sign, we should take the left here. So after we just walked up from here, there is a sign here that says Enryakuji Temple. We just take the left here and cross the lawn of Enryakuji Temple (the mottled spots are unclear). Xiaoyu accidentally fell here (there is a section of mud). There is a pretty good observation deck here and we have arrived at the Tokyo trail. There is an observation deck called the view point at the 4th point of Kitayama 4. There are some chairs here. Some people will have some simple picnics here and you can watch some scenery . You can also see Lake Biwa, which I just took a picture of. Our next step is to turn right from here to the “Garden Museum” At the east entrance of Mountain Hiei, we first go to the right and go to the top of the mountain. We continue to move forward and turn left here. We are going to the east entrance of Mt. Hiei. Turn left. This is the bus stop for the top of Mountain Hiei. We have just reached the top of Mt. Hiei. from halfway up the mountain: Hiei Station We are now at the bus stop in the parking lot at the top of the mountain. There are three major night views to be seen on Mt. Hiei. This is one of the three major night views. This is the parking lot. The night view at the bus stop is said to be worth tens of millions of dollars. Night view: The night view of Mt. Hiei is one of them . In addition to coming here today, we will go to the East Tower (To-do) of Ensukeji Temple later. We will also go to the “Yumemi Hill” which is the top 1 place for night view. Let’s take a look at their beautiful scenery. This is the “Garden Museum Hiei” This garden basically consists of some flowers and plants , some observation decks, and a water lily pond. The entrance fee is 1,200 yen for adults and 600 yen for children. Business hours are 10 am to 5 pm. We will not go in. We just enjoyed the day view here, one of the three views of Mt. Hiei, which is known as the million-dollar golden night view. After that, we also ate at a shop here. After getting things done, we are now going to walk back towards the direction of the Enryakuji Temple East Tower (To-do). We have just seen signs along the road. We are going to the top of the mountain first. Next, we will walk back from here. We will see the sign saying “Enryakuji Temple East Tower (To-do) (Konpon Chudo)”. According to this sign, we have to turn right here in the direction of “Enryakuji Temple East Tower (To-do)”. This means that we have to turn back because we have just walked the road here, so it means that if we want to come to the Garden museum, the top of the mountain is to go up the forked road where there was an observation deck (Azalea Hill) at the beginning , then go back and go back to the forked road just now (Azalea Hill view point) , and then go to the fork in the road just before Enryakuji Temple . Kitayama 4 The indicator of the observatory here has just started. About an hour ago, we started here and walked right up. We have finished its day view and then came back here. Now we will go straight to the direction of “Enryakuji Temple East Tower (To-do) (Konpon Chudo)” and there will be 1.4 kilometers away, and we will hear the sweet chirping of birds. We are now at the “Monument to Protect the Country”. It is a very special monument. We have arrived at Kitayama 5. The fifth sign left the “Monument to Protect the Country” and we continued in the direction of “Konpon Chudo”. Master temple took the shortcut and after a while we came to the sign of Kitayama 6. Then we went to Benkeishui and we came to Kyoto. trail On Kitayama 6 , here we can see that there are two forked roads. First, go straight. If you go straight from this road, it will be in the direction of the “East tower (To-do) Konpon Chudo of Enryakuji Temple.” If you turn left here, you will go to the West tower (Sai-to) of Enryakuji Temple. Both of them are going to Enryakuji Temple . One is towards the west tower, Shaka-do, and the other is in the direction of the East tower (To-do), Konpon Chudo. Although we were going in the direction of the East Tower (To-do) , we found that there was actually a quite special building opposite it , so we planned to go see the building across the bridge . This is “Sannoindo”, which is very similar to a temple. We left Sannoindo and turned back. We came back here and went to the Konpon Chudo Enryakuji Temple East Tower (To-do). We officially arrived at “Benkeishui” and we continued moving forward, after leaving Benkeishui, we should arrive directly at the east tower of Enryakuji Temple. We just walked here like this. Now we have to continue walking straight and we will come to the ticket office of Enryakuji Temple. Today’s trail is quite easy. We probably spent about 2 and a half hours. Its opening hours are at 9 o’clock in the morning. Its closed at four o’clock in the afternoon , the Zhudo Pilgrimage Ticket allows you to visit its East Tower (To-do), West Tower and all other surrounding temples. Adults 1,000 yen. Junior high school students/high school students 600 yen. Elementary school students 300 yen. In addition to the Pilgrimage Ticket , a set ticket to visit the Treasure Museum is included. Adults 1,500 yen. Junior high school/high school students 900 yen. After entering, we will first visit the east tower of its Konpon Chudo. From the entrance, we will first come to the east tower and the Amida-do. Hieizan Enryakuji Temple is a temple located in Sakamoto Honmachi, Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture . It is located in Mt. Hiei. Many famous monks are from this temple. It is known as the “Mother Mountain of Japanese Buddhism” because it was attacked by Oda Nobunaga in 15 AD for protecting the troops of Asai Nagamasa and Asakura Yoshikage during the Warring States Period . In 1971, he led the army to burn down the temple. In 1994, it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. It mainly worships the Yakushi Tathagata sect and is the headquarters of the Tendai Sect. Its Konpon Chudo is also listed as a national treasure of Japan. It was built in the 7th year of Emperor Kanmu’s Enryaku. Dear viewers, we have now arrived at the east tower of Enryakuji Temple. I accidentally photographed a crow holding something in its mouth. What we see now is walking by. Amida-do Amida-do was built in 1937 to commemorate the 1150th anniversary of the founding of Mt. Hiei. Inside, there is a six-foot-tall statue of Amida Buddha. You have to take off your shoes when you enter. There is also a place to ring the bell and chant the Pure Land. Next, we will continue down. The main thing we want to go to is its most famous national treasure , the Konpon Chudo. Now go down immediately to its Dai Ko-do, a national treasure . After passing through these places, we finally arrived at the Konpon Chudo Main temple, the Hieizan Enryakuji Temple. Let me tell you here that it is actually divided into three major areas. The first area is the “East Tower (To-do)” area, the second is the “West Tower (Sai-to)” area, and the third is the “Yokawa” area. We will only visit the East Tower (To-do) area today because there is no time for the West Tower area and the Yokawa area . Of course, the East Tower (To-do) area represents the main temple – The Konpon Chudo West tower area represents the Shaka-do and the Yokawa area represents the Yokawa Chu-do. We are about to go to the Kaidan-in Temple and arrive at the Kaidan-in Temple , which is an important cultural asset of Japan . Next, we are going to go to the Konpon Chudo , the most important national treasure . You can pay 100 yuan to ring the bell and come to its Manpai-do . There are souvenirs and ice cream . Center (To the right) Next, after we left the East Tower (To-do) area of Enryakuji Temple, we were going to take the bus to Yumemi hill. This is the top 1 place among the famous night views of Mt. Hiei that we just mentioned . However, because its last bus left at 5:05 , we could only see the day view. If you want to see this famous night view, you basically have to drive yourself . You can drive here to visit the Treasure Museum. You have to pay to take the bus to Kyoto Station. We have just got off the bus and arrived at “Yumemi Hill”. Yumemi Hill is the top 1 place with a golden night view . You can see that this place looks ordinary during the day , but in fact it is already spectacular. You can enjoy the scenery of the entire Otsu city here . We have just been at Hieizan Garden on the mountain. On the Museum side , you can even see Otsu City Street and Kyoto City Street , but here is a larger area where you can see the entire Lake Biwa. We can see that from left to right , we can see the Omi Bridge JR Kosai Line Biwa Lake Performing Arts Center Biwa Lake Hotel JR. You can have an unobstructed view of Otsukyo Station. The scenery at night is really beautiful. Every house lights up and paired with this landscape , including mountains and the largest lake in Japan, it is really a fantastic dreamy scenery. Telescopes are also provided here , and you can pay 100 yen to use a telescope to observe the entire Otsu City Street. There is also a children’s playground. There are some scenes on the Yumengigaoka. We have finished admiring the beautiful day view of Yumengigaoka . But it is a pity that we are taking public transportation today . We will take the last bus back to Kyoto at 5:20. So if you want to see the night view, it is really recommended to drive by yourself. Today we not only took the cable car there We reached the halfway point of Mt. Hiei and then started walking the trails. We passed many scenic spots along the way and finally came to the World Heritage Site of Mt. Hiei Enryakuji Temple. We felt that today was not only a fusion of natural mountain climbing but also a tour of cultural and historical monuments, so it is highly recommended. It is also a famous scenic spot in the suburbs of Kyoto. You can climb Mt. Hiei to see its nature. However, when autumn comes, you can also see the maple leaves. They are quite beautiful. Our video for today ends here. We walked a total of 3.5 kilometers on this trail today and it took about 2 hours.
