超簡単なレンズ豆のサラダ:夏にぴったり

Hello YouTube. Thanks for joining me today. Got a real simple lentil salad recipe for you here that is going to be perfect for summer. Just like the title. Um it’s going to be cold and you can take it to uh barbecues, going to pool parties, like whenever you’re outside, picnics, whatever. And the nice thing about this, as opposed to what a lot of other people out there are bringing, it doesn’t have mayonnaise in it. So you’re not going to have to worry about getting food poisoning sometime during the day. Always think about that. You see food gatherings, especially in this part of the country, and you got like potato salad, coles, slow, all that stuff with a lot of mayonnaise in it. And uh yeah, that stuff gets out in the sun, doesn’t tend to agree with your stomach. So, let me move this camera around and show you how it’s made. I’m starting out with the lentils here. I just cooked these a little while ago and they have cooled off. Um, they’re green lentils. I just cooked them. I threw a little bit of onion powder. Didn’t put a lot of seasoning in this because we’re going to put some stuff in there. But what I did is I cooked them. You don’t want to overcook them. Make sure you don’t overcook them. Then I drained the water. Actually rent I won’t because I wanted to speed it up a little bit. I rinsed them in cold water so they’re nice and chilled over there. And first I’m going to put some red onion in there. And I’m just kind of eyeballing this. I’m using about half the package that I cooked. So that’s probably a cup of uncooked lentils. I used a cup of lentils and then it expands of course. So the proportions aren’t that important. You can put any of these ingredients or you can put other ingredients in. I’m just kind of trying to give you an idea for different things to do, especially as the seasons are changing. Then I got some tomato here. I’m using Roma tomatoes. Might go back and add more. Actually, I think I’m going to add all the onion in there. And got some cucumber. And then I’m going to just mix it with a little sauce I threw together. I kind of hacked this off the internet, too, like I do most things. Um, it has, let’s see, what have I got in there? This is one I actually I decided to use. I used two teaspoons of olive oil. I’m not opposed to using olive oil creatively from time to time. I probably over the course of the week might have a total of a tablespoon of olive oil, but two t two tablespoons of olive oil, two teaspoons of olive oil. Sorry, getting my tongue tied. Two teaspoons of olive oil, one tablespoon of lemon juice, about a half uh I didn’t really measure it about, but about a half a tablespoon of coconut aminos, and uh there’s one of those flies. and a tablespoon of maple syrup just kind of contrast all that other. Then just going to do like so. Then I’m just going to mix it up all nice there. One thing I could have done, but I’m not really into the visual all that much. It would have been nicer, a little bit more aesthetically appealing if id have cut the cucumbers a little bit smaller. Maybe even tomatoes, too. But if you’ve watched my channel before, you know I’m not fancy. And yeah, that’s looking okay. You know what? I didn’t want it to be too much, but I think I’m going to put some more of those tomatoes in there. I’ll use up the rest of my tomatoes. I’m going to put just a little bit. I won’t put a whole lot more cucumber. We don’t want the cucumber to overpower it. Then just stir it up. And that will make a nice side side dish. You know, you’re having something by the pool, you’re having a sandwich or whatever you’re eating. Make a nice side dish. Could just make a a cold salad of it. But voila. And as I’ve said before, sometimes you don’t see me taste the the finished product in here, but I’m going to taste it later after it sits and, you know, marinates in its juices for a while. And the fact that I put the video out means that it turned out good. So, I’m never going People that sometimes ask me, “Well, did you taste test it?” Well, I’m not going to release the video unless I’ve tasted it. It’s just like right now at this very moment shooting it. No, I haven’t tasted it. I’m going to let it set a little bit. But anyhow, hope you guys enjoyed this one.   1. The large lentils feel done enough after 15 minutes cooked like the small ones but if you cook them an hour they are even better. I usually make a cold salad like that on the side & have warm lentils over white rice but this is a great idea especially sense I'm planning on going to the beach a few days & would like something safe besides peanut butter & jelly lol. Lentils cook so much faster than beans which I love 😊
