Okunoshima, a small island floating in the Seto Inland Sea. Also known as “Rabbit Island,” it’s home to, believe it or not, about 500 wild rabbits!

【This Visit】
In the winter of 2025, I visited Okunoshima to investigate why there are so many rabbits on this island and, of course, to interact with the cute bunnies.
On the island, you can see the friendly rabbits roaming freely up close. I spent a relaxing time feeding them and taking pictures together.
Okunoshima has a dark history as a site of a former poison gas factory, but today, few traces of that past remain, and many tourists visit looking forward to interacting with the rabbits.
In this video, I want to share not only the adorable rabbits but also touch on the island’s history and culture. Please watch until the end!
