Akita, Kakunodate on a nice winter day, Japan 2025 • 4K

On the last day of my Tohoku winter journey in 2024/2025 year I visited Kakunodate in Senboku city of Akita prefecture. The area is popular for old building and blooming sakura views. Of course, coming in winter there was no blooming sakura, but I got old town scene in snow. Unlike Yokote walk the weather got better, with few clouds making everything around especially bright. In the end I flew around a bit.

Yes, sakura trees were still dreaming their sweet pink dreams of spring ❄🌸❄, but under the shiny white blanket everything looked so beautiful anyway 💙 – the landscape, the houses – and wow, the flight! Went to Kakunodate in 2019. If you asked me what I remembered about the area, all I could say is the Lawson (at 16:27) and the S ARP building (6:58) 😂

Love snowy Akita
Looks a lot like where I live in SE Ohio right now, snow-wise anyway. About three weeks ago, we got an unusually vigorous snowstorm, and it's just in the last few days gotten above freezing and starting to melt.😊
