Southernmost Train Ride in the World! ICONIC RAILWAY JOURNEY Argentina
Embark on a unique adventure in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, with a ride on the legendary End of the World Train (El Tren del Fin del Mundo). More than just a scenic railway, this End of the World Train journey is a trip into the past, tracing the route forged by the prisoners who shaped Ushuaia’s beginnings.
Our End of the World Train experience begins just outside Ushuaia, near Tierra del Fuego National Park. At the “End of the World Station,” you can explore the history before boarding the train for a 50-minute journey. An onboard audio guide narrates the story of the original “Prison Train” and its vital role in Ushuaia’s development.
Ushuaia, established in 1884, became known for its harsh prison. The train route reveals the prisoners’ grueling labour, transporting essential materials. The journey includes views of the Pico Valley, Toro Gorge, and a stop at Cascada de la Macarena.
Continuing into Tierra del Fuego National Park, you’ll see the “tree cemetery,” a reminder of the area’s past. The End of the World Train offers a unique perspective on Ushuaia’s history and the stunning landscapes of Patagonia.
A ride on the End of the World Train is a must-do when visiting Ushuaia!

That looked like a nice and relaxing train ride. At least you got to drive into the park afterwards to take advantage of that ticket. Loved the wild horses. That train reminded me of the trains in North Wales. 👍📸🚂
Enjoyed this video very much. Lots of good information. Beautiful place. ❤
Informative iconic vid🚂
🎶¿No saben que es el Fin del Mundo? Terminó cuando dijiste adiós.🎶😉

👍🏻🤩💐🌹🌹
Thanks for this journey. It feels like we have been there our self, nice feeling from a good program.
Thanks for your videos, they make my life more interesting and pleasant🎤🎼🎹🎶
Trains are the reason I have subscribed this channel for! Show more of it if posssible!
Sorry I missed your last few videos. Welcome back to the Americas, gentlemen! The narrow gauge tracks look so different; it seems the trains travel at a good, leisurely speed so you can enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Love, love, love the wild horses! For some reason the topography reminds me of Eastern Europe; perhaps why so many Europeans found homes there throughout history. When I speak Spanish with native speakers from various parts of the world, I'm often asked if I'm from Argentina. I have European ancestry, and learned the language in school here in Southern California, so I use very little slang. From what I've heard over the years, being incarcerated in a South American prison is best avoided at all costs. Yikes! As always, thank you for sharing so much wonderful footage of these far-away places, with your fantastic commentary (both history and logistics). Cheers!
Wonderful series! Your camera work is excellent. And I appreciate that you stop narrating at times to allow us to experience the sounds and sights as if we were there.
You brought the overcast weather from London, help it with even lighting 😄
A joy as always — travel to the end of the world without leaving home — gorgeous scenery, I'm sure it was even better in person — thanks!!! ❤❤❤
Wow, what a great trip. Thanks for sharing it with us.
The landscape is so pretty. The train looked great to ride. I love seeing the animals. Such an enjoyable video. Thank you so much.😊
Enjoyed the Argentine scenery but there is one thing I'd like to mention. That's NOT the southernmost post office in the world. There are two US Post Offices in Antarctica, one at McMurdo Station and one right at the South Pole. I have a friend that spend six months down at the Pole several years ago and we addressed her mail to her office at the station.
Thanks!🤩💕
A great series. A whole new perspective on Argentina. Take care guys!❤
Hi, the white headed bird is a male Upland Goose while the other more yellow coloured one is the female Upland Goose. Great videos guys. I am unlikely to ever visit these places but get to see it thanks to you.🤩💛💚
Great video , how would you recommend getting there from the UK ,from a cost vs time perspective?
Very scenic – I wonder how long it would take to get to here from there? I did rather think the price of the Park Pass was expensive, but nearly fell off my chair when you said that was just for a DAY! I'm assuming most of the people down there are visitors. Perhaps The Most Southerly PO wasn't an actual official PO (or might have been back when there was a penal colony in the area?!) Interesting trip, thanks for taking us along – have you ever been across the Channel? How different would it be in Chile? Happy travels.
I could definitely feel how bleak the place must have been if you were to try to escape from the prison here – no chance to survive long in that landscape, beautiful as it must be in the warmer months. Thanks for your video ~
ÑAmazingly beautiful your train journey… Surprise to see horses are walking freely….! History and natures beauty merging with each other… Really enjoyed 👍❤️
Re the post office. Ripped off in Argentina? Never..I don't believe it!
Apart from the Antarctic post offices – which are a bit out of reach for most – there is another more southerly one in Puerto Williams, just across the water to the south in Chile. The birds? English name is Kelp Geese, often seen around the water's edge. The brown one is the female, almost invisible against the rocks, the whiter one is the male.
wanna be there right now. Thank you .
Very nice, keep showing the beautiful scenes of British civilization and your beautiful commentary on the scenes
Dziękuję za film.👍👍
Wonderful video series… thanks for sharing. The bird towards the end is a "cauquén". It's endemic to South America and also one of the heaviest flying birds on earth (also called "avutarda", but absolutely no connection with the European variety). All the best!
