    not worth 200 dolars for that place, if you paid that much you got scammed, you can book a nice Cinnamon hotel in Bentota for that price with real 5 stars. plus government should take action to stop these foreigners work illegally or work in the torism sector.its a big blow to the locals & the government.and we need to stop russian & ukranian s running this part of in Sri lanka & should be kicked out

    It actually makes me upset to see how xenophobic people are towards Russians and other foreigners in Asia. People keep bringing up random incidents and tarring everybody with the same brush and that's wrong. There is good and bad everywhere. Not everybody is overstaying visas, setting up illegal businesses or discriminating locals. Please just stop generalising. Y'all keep bringing up situations in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam involving Russians and it's really getting ridiculous now. This isn't just directed towards the Sri Lankans in the comment section, it's also directed towards the other Asians and Westerners that constantly fearmonger on Reddit and Instagram whenever it comes to Russian migrants. Before anybody comes for me, my ancestors came from Sri Lanka. So I'm not even biased here.

    Jay and Karolina showed us a beautiful place in Ahangama, so just watch the video and marvel at the beauty and stop politicising everything. I didn't expect to see so much xenophobia in the comments.

    It seems that most hotels & even surf schools are now owned by foreigners. from the yoga teachers, chefs, instructors etc etc. how pathetic. It used to be run by locals mainly. U can argue that they bring foreign capital & hire a few locals (usually for cheap, & to avoid accountability) But on a large scale this is detrimental to local owned businesses & even locals who live in the area. To see these areas become so touristy in a way it destroys the local culture. All these Foreign owned businesses catering to other foreigner's…. the locals are becoming background characters in their own home. This is just a small scale colonial movement. I've heard countless cases now of locals who travel down south, feeling very unwelcome beacuse everything is catered to white people. There are even russian villages here. Same in Ella. On track to become the next bali 2.0. Congrats Sl.
