桜をイメージしたピンクのライトアップで、日本橋の主要施設が染め上がります。中央通り沿いに並ぶ重要文化財や大型ビル、日本橋の桜の名所「江戸桜通り」をはじめとした各所で期間限定の幻想的な風景が現れます。お仕事帰りや夜のご予定の前に、日本橋ならではの夜桜が楽しめます。
歴史性と先進性をあわせもつ街 「日本橋室町」
日本橋を中心とした商業と文化の街で、大手企業の本社が数多くひしめく。また、歴史的建築と近代建築が共存し、老舗の路地の向こうに高層ビルといったユニークな景観が楽しめます。特に室町側（北詰）の中央通りを挟む両サイドの建築物は、高さ100尺（31m）のスカイラインが保たれ、美しい景観をつくっています。日本橋地区は「日本の中心」として、何世紀にもわたって商業の繁栄を享受し、通りには賑やかな店が並び、運河（その間にほとんどが埋め立てられました）が流れ、栄えてきました。何世紀もの歴史を持つ店が今もこの地区に数多く残っており、散策するのに楽しい場所です。江戸時代（1600～1867年）には、最も有力な商家の一つであった三井家が日本橋に織物店「越後屋」を開業し、大成功を収めました。その後継店である日本橋三越は日本初の百貨店となり、現在もこの地区の中心に立っています。最近の再開発プロジェクトにより、日本橋地区は趣のある新しい施設で活性化しました。ハイライトは、コレド室町複合施設です。3つのエレガントな高層ビルが立ち並び、商家街の江戸時代の伝統にインスピレーションを得たモダンでありながら伝統的なデザインで、ショッピングや食事が楽しめます。漆器、金箔、包丁、箸、酒、調味料、海藻、お菓子など、日本各地の伝統工芸品や地元の食材を専門に扱う店が多数あります。

The long-established “Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store” that has been in business since the Edo period and the latest commercial building “COREDO Muromachi”. Also, the “Bank of Japan” and “Mitsui Main Building” are adjacent, so let’s experience the city where many workers are usually busy coming and going with us.

The main facilities of Nihonbashi will be dyed in pink light inspired by cherry blossoms. A fantastic landscape will appear for a limited time at various places, including the important cultural properties and large buildings lined up along Chuo Street, and the famous cherry blossom spot “Edo Sakura Street” in Nihonbashi. You can enjoy the night cherry blossoms unique to Nihonbashi after work or before your evening plans.
【Nihonbashi Muromachi: A town that combines history and modernity】
A commercial and cultural town centered around Nihonbashi, it is crowded with the headquarters of many major companies. Historical and modern architecture coexist, and you can enjoy a unique view of skyscrapers behind alleys lined with long-established shops. In particular, the buildings on both sides of Chuo-dori on the Muromachi side (Kitazume) maintain a skyline of 100 shaku (31 m) in height, creating a beautiful landscape. As the “center of Japan,” Nihonbashi has enjoyed commercial prosperity for centuries, with bustling shops lining the streets and a canal (most of which has been filled in during that time) running through it, and it has flourished. Many centuries-old shops still remain in the area, making it a fun place to stroll around. During the Edo period (1600-1867), the Mitsui family, one of the most powerful merchants, opened a textile store called “Echigoya” in Nihonbashi, which was a huge success. Its successor, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, became Japan’s first department store and still stands at the heart of the district today. Recent redevelopment projects have revitalized the Nihonbashi area with quaint new establishments. A highlight is the Coredo Muromachi complex, a collection of three elegant high-rise buildings offering shopping and dining in a modern yet traditional design inspired by the Edo-period traditions of the merchant district.
