Maebashi City is located almost in the center of Gunma Prefecture and serves as the prefectural capital, making it a hub for politics, economy, and culture. It’s a charming place where the rich nature at the foot of the magnificent Mount Akagi harmonizes with the convenience of urban life.

Maebashi City promotes itself as a “city of water, greenery, and poetry,” striving to balance the preservation of the natural environment with the enhancement of urban functions. The city streets are filled with lush green parks and tree-lined avenues, offering beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons. The magnificent nature of Mount Akagi is one of Maebashi City’s major attractions. Many outdoor enthusiasts visit year-round for activities like mountain climbing, hiking, and camping.
