Driving on a rural road in Putian – Fujian Province, China – 4K HDR
Location: Licheng District, Putian City, Fujian Province
Starting point: Donggao Village, Licheng District, Putian City
Donggao is located in the east of Putian on the southeast coast of Fujian Province. It has convenient transportation and faces Taiwan across the sea. It is southeast of Putian City, Hanjiang District to the north, Xiuyu District to the south, Putian City to the west, and Xinghua Bay to the east. It is 22 kilometers away from Chengguan, with a total area of 19 square kilometers, a population of about 3,000, and a total of more than 500 households, all of which are Han nationality. The residents speak Putian dialect, the Puxian dialect.
End point: Meilan Village, Licheng District, Putian City
Meilan Village is located on the south side of Xinghua Bay, 18 kilometers away from the town center. It is a relatively remote coastal village in Beigao Town. The village has jurisdiction over 5 natural villages and 18 villager groups, with a total number of 1,218 households and a total population of 7,094, all of whom are Han nationality and have 120 party members. The cultivated land area is 1,789 acres and the tidal flat area is 2,800 acres. In 2012, the village revenue was 210,000 yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 7,430 yuan. The village’s coastline is 2.8 kilometers long and has an excellent natural port. A shipping fleet is active throughout the country.

几乎全中国的农村都这样.可能有豪宅.别墅.但是没有规划.杂乱无章.这里建一栋那里搞一层.谁家都不舍得让一点面积出来.然后搞个围墙围起来就显的路就很窄.会车都很难.非常的不舒服.很压抑.我就是在这样的环境下长大的.几十年过去了 还是没什么改变…无非就是房子更大了。。路稍微变好了….
我还是喜欢欧美那种低矮的大平层和超宽的路.还有大面积的草皮和树木覆盖。

If this is an ordinary village I am wondering how the people have so much money to build palaces. Where does their income come from to support this building? do all the inhabitants still work on the land? I think this is the strangest place that I have seen in videos about China. I have also visited China twice and travelled all over the country in 2015 and I never saw anything like this. I am very puzzled by it.
这地方是一直有下南洋的历史的。很多家庭把钱全用来建楼房了。在这种小地方有必要建六层八层楼房吗？又没什么人住的。大家集资开宽马路多种树建些公园多好。

这是农村，但是经济的发展超过了原先的定位，所以基础建设显得很混乱 。大人在工作，小孩在读书，老人在屋里。

L'architecture est grotesque, l'urbanisme semble chaotique et c'est beaucoup de maisons qui ressemble à des appartements… On dirait le village de Buzescu construit par les Roms…
Il va vraiment falloir revoir votre façon d'urbaniser et revenir aux traditions. Pour une civilisation vieille de 3000 ans qui a conçu une architecture unique et propre à son identité, vous pouvez très largement mieux faire.
D'ailleurs, le seul moment agréable à regarder est entre 20:13 – 20:19 et les quelques rares maisons traditionnelles en pierre…
So much rubble all over the place. When I first visited China I was surprised this is what a "rural" area looked like: still very dense, just in the middle of nowhere.
