2025年 河津町 河津桜まつり – Kawazu Cherry Blossom / Kawazu-cho / Walking tour / Japan / Sakura

静岡県賀茂郡河津町の河津桜まつりを見てきました。
今年は寒い日が続いていた影響で、例年よりも開花が２週間くらい遅れているようです。河津町観光協会の公式インスタグラムでは3月1日に見頃宣言が出ていました。
3月1日時点で8割から満開といった様子で今年も本当に綺麗でした！

▼河津桜とは？
河津町の名産である河津桜は2月上旬から開花しはじめる早咲きの桜で、1955年に河津町で発見されました。伊豆の温暖な気候と早咲きの特色を生かし、約1ヶ月を経て満開になります。

I visited the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival in Shizuoka Prefecture.
Due to the cold weather this year, the blooming of the cherry trees seems to be about two weeks later than usual.
As of March 1, the blossoms were 80% to fully bloomed, and it was really beautiful again this year!

What are Kawazu cherry trees?
Kawazu-zakura, a specialty of Kawazu Town, is an early-blooming cherry tree that begins to bloom in early February. Taking advantage of Izu’s mild climate and early-blooming characteristics, they come into full bloom after about a month.
