湛江霞山區，乃廣東省湛江市之一市轄區，坐落於雷州半島東南端，瀕臨湛江海灣，為湛江市之中心城區之一。
霞山區歷史悠久，自古以來便屬雷州府遂溪縣地，歷經唐宋之變遷，漸成村落。近代以來，更因法國侵占廣州灣而設首府西營，後經抗日戰爭勝利，國民政府收回，設立湛江市，市政府駐於西營。至一九五八年，經廣東省人民委員會批准，西營改為霞山，沿用至今。
霞山區地勢平坦，氣候宜人，屬北熱帶海洋性季風氣候，四季如春。其海岸線長達二十八公里，海灘塗面積廣闊，擁有特呈島等島嶼，風光旖旎。
人口方面，霞山區常住人口眾多，經濟發展勢頭強勁。依托湛江港之優勢，發展臨港工業和現代物流業，形成大豆加工、石油化工、石油儲運等產業集群。同時，積極發展商貿業，擁有多家大型物流購物中心和零售巨頭。

Zhanjiang’s Xiashan District is one of the municipal districts of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, located at the southeastern tip of Leizhou Peninsula, bordering Zhanjiang Bay, and serving as one of the central urban areas of Zhanjiang City.
Xiashan District has a long history, originally belonging to Suixi County under Leizhou Prefecture since ancient times. It gradually developed into villages through the changes of the Tang and Song dynasties. In modern times, it became the capital of Xiying when France invaded Guangzhou Bay. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the Nationalist Government reclaimed it and established Zhanjiang City, with the municipal government stationed in Xiying. In 1958, with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Committee, Xiying was renamed Xiashan, a name that has been used ever since.
Xiashan District has a flat terrain and a pleasant climate, belonging to the northern tropical marine monsoon climate, with four seasons like spring. Its coastline stretches for 28 kilometers, with extensive beach areas and islands such as Techeng Island, offering beautiful scenery.
In terms of population, Xiashan District has a large resident population and a strong economic development momentum. Leveraging the advantages of Zhanjiang Port, it has developed port-related industries and modern logistics, forming industrial clusters such as soybean processing, petrochemicals, and oil storage and transportation. At the same time, it actively promotes commerce and trade, with multiple large-scale logistics shopping centers and retail giants.
In terms of tourism resources, Xiashan District is dominated by bay and urban tourism resources, combined with historical architectural relics and ecological tours of offshore fishing rafts, making it a great place for urban leisure, entertainment, shopping, and sightseeing. Among them, the French-style street, Haibin Park, and Yugang Park are popular attractions for tourists.
