And you have to come again next year, go to a different city to experience a different China.
It seemed like the underwater museum was constructed prior to the 3 Gorges Dam to preserve the relics of some famous hot spots such as the " old ghost city" Feng Du in Chinese, so far there is no foreign solo traveller introduce this place in their vlogs according to what I had seen. That is a good job, perhaps it is the advantage for joining an expat tour group.👍👍
❤❤❤
5:49 It's lotus root.
Haha Chinese people are crazy about food, always eat so much food in a healthy way😂😂, it’s like a culture thing and they don’t get fat😂😂. And the underwater museum is showing how amazing the Chinese engineerings are, from the ancient time to nonce, they could build everything. That’s what I love about China❤.
他俩難道参加了旅游团😂.我一时看不懂!😂

The thing you ate was Lotus root😅
I like your video. It’s down to earth and show the local and their lifestyle… from Singapore. Thanks
The round wheel like vegetable you eat is called a lotus root. Chinese believe if you wanna go to a casino you should refrain from eating this lotus root.
👍
The Baiheliang stone is an old Chinese hydrometric station, officials carve waterline marks and date record on the stone at the dry season, so the future hydrometric officers can compare the marks on the stone at the dry season to calculate volume of water flow, and some of the most renowned scholar at their time also carves their poems on the stone, make the stone a relic that hold it's place in both field of scientific and culture heritage…

Fuling Zhacai: A Crunchy, Spicy Treat from China
Fuling Zhacai, also known as Fuling pickled mustard tuber, is a unique and flavorful pickle originating from Fuling District, Chongqing, China. Renowned for its crisp texture, spicy kick, and distinctive aroma, it has become a beloved condiment and ingredient in Chinese cuisine and beyond.
What is it?
Zhacai is made from the knobby, fibrous stem of a specific variety of mustard plant. After harvesting, the stems are peeled, salted, and pressed to remove excess water. They are then fermented in a brine solution with chili peppers and other spices, developing their characteristic flavor and aroma.
Taste and Texture:
Fuling Zhacai boasts a complex flavor profile. The initial salty tang gives way to a pleasant spiciness, followed by a subtle sweetness and umami richness. The texture is delightfully crunchy, offering a satisfying contrast to softer dishes.
Culinary Uses:
This versatile ingredient can be enjoyed in various ways:
Condiment: Finely chopped Zhacai adds a burst of flavor to congee, noodles, and rice dishes.
Ingredient: It's a key component in dishes like Zhacai Rou Si (shredded pork with Zhacai) and adds depth to soups and stir-fries.
Snack: Some enjoy eating small pieces of Zhacai on its own as a savory snack.
Nutritional Value:
Fuling Zhacai is a good source of dietary fiber and contains some vitamins and minerals. However, it's important to note that it's also high in sodium, so moderation is key.
Beyond China:
While deeply rooted in Chinese culinary tradition, Fuling Zhacai's popularity has spread internationally. It can now be found in Asian grocery stores worldwide, introducing new audiences to its unique and addictive flavor.
In conclusion, Fuling Zhacai is more than just a pickle; it's a culinary experience. Its unique combination of flavor, texture, and aroma has earned it a cherished place in Chinese cuisine and continues to captivate taste buds around the globe.
What you ate in restaurant is lotus root.
Two types of lotus roots! One crispier suitable for stir fry,the other kind stickier with silky strings when oulled apart;former said to have with 7 holes, the latter 9 holes ( in Taiwan); I like the latter type and the best is from Qian Jiang HuBei Province near WuHan.

Lotus root is the stem of the lotus, and the seeds of the lotus are also edible. This plant is closely associated with Chinese gods and Buddhism in China.
Happy Chinese New Year to you 😇
