洞爺湖は、周囲43kmの日本で3番目に大きいカルデラ湖で、中央にはエゾシカの生息地として知られている4つの島からなる中島があります。
洞爺湖遊覧船「エスポアール」は中世のお城をイメージした双胴船で、湖の中央に浮かぶ島々をめぐる遊覧コースでは、エゾシカの楽園「大島」、 円空上人作の観音様を安置した「観音島」、龍神様をまつる赤い祠の「浮見堂」をゆったりとめぐります。
花火大会期間の4月下旬から10月下旬にかけては、湖上から花火を楽しめる花火鑑賞船も運航されています。
Lake Toya Pleasure Ship
Lake Toya is the third largest caldera lake in Japan with a circumference of 43 km, and has a central island consisting of four islands known as a habitat for Ezo sika deer.
The Toya Lake cruise boat “Espoir” is a catamaran ship designed in the image of a medieval castle. The cruise course around the islands in the center of the lake takes you to “Oshima,” a paradise for Ezo sika deer, “Kannonjima,” where the statue of Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) by Enku Shonin is enshrined, and “Ukimido,” a red shrine dedicated to the Dragon God, in a relaxed atmosphere.
From late April to late October, during the fireworks festival, a fireworks viewing boat is available to enjoy the fireworks from the lake.
