15:21 that's actually not a memorial haha – it's just showing the name of the gated community. 75 years is how long the "New China“ aka. People's Republic of China has been established. Did you guys travel around October? 'Cause Oct. 1st is the National Day (PRC is proclaimed on Oct. 1st, 1949) and you'll see lots of signs on streets around that time.
I hope you also tried Zhajiang Mian (fried bean paste noodle with pork) and the jasmine tea soft serve from 吴裕泰（old tea shop from Qing Dynasty) Two of the best food imo as a local who always been craving them in the Bay Area…

Wow so glad you didn’t die from from food poisoning from food made with poisonous chemicals and fried in oil scooped out of the freaking gutter. Before they made it the lady in the back rinsed those vegetables in the toilet and rats ran all over the bowls.

I love your video, but I want to point out that the first restaurant that you went to is not traditional Beijing cuisine, it is actually from Guangdong or Hongkong
Ding Tai Feng 鼎泰丰restaurant is expensive but the food is just so so😂
