Japan Cycling Tour【4K】Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter (Okayama) 岡山 ロードバイク
2020 Japan Cycling Trip Day 7: Kurashiki, Okayama tour bike ride. After a few days of cycling in Hiroshima prefecture, we made our way back to Okayama prefecture for some more bike rides and sightseeing. In today’s ride, we are cycling to Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter (倉敷美観地区).
We really like the historical Japan vibe in this area, and there were also many beautiful farms along the way as well as few cars.

Nice ride… you're lucky because if you try to go riding anywhere in the USA, you'll find lose dogs running after you to bite your legs. it's terrible. The city you're in seems so peaceful and clean too.
いつも楽しく拝見しています。

Continuing to enjoy my Japanese holiday by YouTube! The car is a Mitsubishi Starion manufactured (in Nagoya!) between 1982 and 1989. You may know it as the Dodge, Chrysler or Plymouth Conquest as it was in the US. A real JDM classic! I like these old slightly softer grand touring sports cars compared to the very performance focussed cars of today.
Such a beautiful place.
Greetings, Cruise and Thuong. Much mahalo for this video. I really enjoyed it. A nice historical vibe as you mentioned. I like those narrow streets, but one needs to be very cautious as you mentioned, especially along the streets with those steep cutouts along the sides. One thing I've been meaning to ask. There are so many different models of cars in Japan that you don't see in the US, including the one you drive. Are they manufactured for domestic use only? I would imagine they are not overly expensive and pretty economical to drive? The traffic is quite heavy on some of those streets in the downtown area. Perhaps owning a cargo bike might be a good option. Looking forward to your walk around of that beautiful location you ended up in. A great place to spend a leisurely day. Take care 🙋♂️.
warm in Okoyama..
Yeah new video✋😁 watching while reasting my sore knees from my own ride yesterday lol
Natsukashi. A Japanese buddy from way back lives in Kurashiki. He had moved to Numazu, Shizuoka to wort at a marina, where I bought my first sea-worthy boat, a Yamaha Sunfriend 21 with a 60hp 2 stroke outboard. He grew up in Okyama near the Nihon kai, but the first time he ever saw real waves was in Numazu – Suruga Bay. When he eventually quit his job at the marina and returned to Kurashiki, I went to his wedding there, and had a brief tour of the historic district … but yeah, by bike is the way to go. A couple of years ago, there was quite a bit of damage from flooding, including the first floor of the mansion he lives in, though he was on the 4th floor. A nearby hospital was in NHK news, and when I called him to see how he was doing, he was in tears because of some of the elderly who died as a result of the flooding.
Yeah … definitely do a separate video of the historical district.
I love to see this sort of videos where non touristy areas are shown! One will really get a sense of how real ordinary Japan looks like. Great work Mr Cruise!

First year our family was not able to spend spring time in Japan. Your videos really help with the travel withdrawal. We miss it so much. Thanks to you guys we now have several new places we want to visit when travel resumes.
12:07 Are those high school students in school uniform? Are they required to shave their heads?
Another great vidéo ,keep up guys. Going through your old vidéos.
I missed a lot of your videos, so you guys are still in japan ha?
beautiful family. riding side by side would seem nicer but traffic issues I understand you. fiber upper cover for cars everywhere in front of houses is good notice.
6:30 … red Mitsubishi Starion 1985 -1988 or so… Yeah it has been around a while.
You're welcome.
she did not say Lets go , missing that
Nice – was there last year closer to Christmas time or seems and there was this Cosplay weekend where all the young people dressed up and came into that old district to pose, be watched and take pictures. The station if I recall had nice Christmas decorations and lightings and other side had a large American style shopping mall. The old Shotengai was well old and looks to be in dire need of a boost. Side streets were amazing daytime but especially so nighttime.
Wow , not like here in Tasmania , all flat roads there , looking for flat roads here , More chance of winning Lottery ?
American isn't any different lol. And Europe and especially Russia the weather so bad.
Just brought an Pinarello F12 Dogma planning to bring it to japan.
You really deserve so much more subscribers because of how good your contents is.
Muy bello
In the UK it pretty much gets dark at 4pm here, but saying that I went to Japan over the summer and it got dark by 7pm, much earlier than the UK would. Another great video though
Just wanted to let you know that I'm vicariously living through you guys! lol when I'm on a break at my crusty fast food job, I watch you guys and other folks lucky enough to live in Japan to dream and not go insane! 😂
Hi two wheel cruise, is a foldable mountain bike durable? Is it recommendable to use from a long ride like beitou to tamsui? That is around more or less 50km back and forth i believe. I saw your taipei video and i am very familiar with that place and wont get lost. I am new subscriber btw, not a hardcore cyclist, just a casual one with an old bike and inspired to take it serious because of your videos.
Once again, your videos ticked my stress nerves flat. Thanks mate.
I would love to go there
Wow
1. No grafiti
2. No public bins provided yet hardly any rubbish.
3. No honking of horns everywhere.
Thanks for the virtual tour. 👍 From India
That car was a Mitsubishi Starion. The name is a mispronunciation of Stallion.
Wow I see you're in the MIzushima area and I've biked that road but the opposite direction. My first job in Japan was teaching and I did it in Kurashiki. What a coincidence. The road at 9:46 is where I remember stopping to take a phone call about setting my Hikari Flets internet up, lmao.
