Another great episode!. As a kid, traveling with my Grandparents, I felt like I'd somehow stumbled into Europe when I turned the corner to walk along the Old Quebec City streets. It was magical.
Taking notes of your trip. We are planning a similar trip late next summer. But I wonder why you didnt go up along the Gaspe Peninsula to Perce etc? Time?
Safe travels. Looking forward to further postings. Thanks.
I watched Dan's video this week. It was one of his best. Glad Pete's home safe. Thank you so much for bringing me along!😅😅
Love your truck/camper.This diesel heater is so loud, thats why i freaking love my propane dickinson fire place, super quiet.
Awesome hi from Sussex NB. We have lots of covered bridge in our area. Also the one that was on the .25 “oldfield bridge. ❤❤
Beautiful adventure and amazing scenery and Quebec city 😊
As always great video. Really enjoyed it. Safe travels
Thank you much. I didn’t know there. Was that much an old Quebec all these old old buildings and history. I love that. Thank you from USA.
I can't wait until you get to PEI! My beautiful island home, I live in Pennsylvania now and miss it every day. Safe travels.
We loved this trip. We took 16 days from Ontario to Quebec, to Gaspe , Meat Cove, Lands End , Halifax to Stowe Vermont to New York back to Ontario
I don’t even know where to begin. Just thank you I guess for an escape from the stress filled lives we lead all over the world. Your journeys remind me to slow down and be thankful. I’m thankful for your family. Hundreds of you. Amazing! One day someone may ask me…what are some things you remember that made you happy. The Van Stralen family made me happy.
Safe travels. Peace be with you and God Bless You

I really enjoyed your guided tour of Quebec City! I live in Western Quebec and never visited the city, only drove through a few times. Really enjoyed seeing the old buildings and fort.
🔴Lest We Forget 🔴🇦🇺🇨🇦
Hé Dan, waar komt je vader oorspronkelijk vandaan (stad)? I have a history in Holland beginning over 40 yrs ago and includes two full grown children and grandchildren. All of the important things that happen in a young man's life happened to me, there. Very emotional and memorable place for me. Love the video's and family things. I'm so sorry about the young man you've all lost. But as you well know, you'll all meet again soon. God zegen je allemaal! Allan
I'm only 2.5 minutes in and already I am amazed….. and shedding a tear! As an Aussie, I have always recognised the significance of November 11th but never knew that the prose associated with this day was written by a Canadian. I also recognise today for another reason. My Mother was born on November 11th. In fact – the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. In 1933. She was 33 when I was born in 1966. This year marks 29 years since her passing and not a day goes past without me thinking of her but today in particular.
And now that I am through watchin' this vid……. fantastic as usual. I travelled through these parts many years ago and it is so wonderful to see them again. I hope you enjoy PEI…. <3
My mother and I had a trip planned to Nova Scotia when the pandemic hit…sadly that was really the last chance for her since she is now 86-our ancestors on her side were loyalists and settled in Digby just after the American Revolution. Watching your videos doesn't take the place of our trip but it DOES help her connect with the area part of her family settled in. Privelaged to come along with y'all for your life journey, thank you for sharing with us. You will never know how many people you and your videos touch, how many hearts are soothed knowing other folks are living thru the joys and hardships that is life. Blessings on you all. As a side note- I was never a big history and geography buff but I find myself pulling up maps to share your journey-especially Nova Scotia.
It's so neat you got to Campbellton, and that Pete Sr. has a connection. Campbellton is the place of my Grandfathers birth in 1883. I have not been there…yet!
Wonderful history..I enjoyed this so much..beautiful poem…I am 73 and really loved this and seeing those places I will never travel to see..nice to know more about Canadian history..
Watching today from PEI..born and bred here.. following your cross Canada journey..you guys have had such a whirlwind of activities lately… we're glad you'll get to see our little province..we love your channel… cheers
i live in N-B but you were on other road were we live
Thanks for the poem about 11-11-11. We in the USA also remember this day but I had never heard this poem
My deepest condolences and memory to our loved ones… ❤️🙏🌺
Nicely done, marking remembrance day. Thank you.
The British victory was tenuous, so they negotiated concessions. Like allowing the French to keep their language and Catholic religion. Hence the distinct society that is Quebec, and why the Canadian constitution recognizes French as an official language. And why the separatist movement bubbles just beneath the surface to this day.
Careful how you pronounce poutine. If you edge too close to 'putain', your cheese curds turn into prostitute.
Dairying is in your DNA. obvious you learn something new every day and obvious you enjoy it. Your dad does very well….has lots experience.
I’m curious if your campsite selection has changed with the Rossmönster with having an enclosed space? Do you find you have more options than before?
Will you be dropping down into Maine?? 👊🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
Hello from Minnesota. Enjoyed your video as always. This one was really good. Thanks.
Bonjour la famille. Heureux de vous revoir et en particulier à Québec, une ville que j’adore car nous avons de la famille dans cette belle ville ainsi qu’à Montréal 😊. Avez-vous partager quelques mots en français ? 😉. Bonne route et rester bien au chaud 👍.
Awesome road trip from Old Quebec to New Brunswick! 🚙 The Canadian landscape looks so beautiful, and it’s inspiring to see you guys taking on the adventure together. Those snowy trails and scenic spots are just amazing. Thanks for sharing, can’t wait for the next episode! 🍁🌲
As an American midwestener I spent a weekend wondering the streets of Old Quebec City in 2007 and remember it fondly.
What is Daniels chapel?
Lest we forget ❤
Thanks for sharing that beautiful poem. That is the hard realities of war.
FYI you might want to verify with your local ford dealership if ford canada reconciles Mr lube as approved. Friend had his services done by Mr lube and experienced an engine failure, ford declined warranty.
I loved hearing your recital of the poem. I didn't realise a Canadian wrote it. I had a few days in Quebec on may visit from here in Australia once, so a blessing to be there again with your video. We celebrate remembrance with poppies too, and my mum had a saying, " Happy as a lark"❤🎉😊
So Remembrance Day is the Canadian of the American holiday Memorial Day.
I still have fresh kale in the garden, and so tried your kale soup. I used mild Italian sausages like you did. Delicious! It’s going to be a favourite here.
oh wow you guys were in my back yard!!! 5 min walk from the first set of power lines on the Dobson. Hope you enjoyed the trail and all the other spots in New Brunswick. Safe travels!!!
I was born in old Quebec. My father worked in the citadel when I was a kid. My father mother and uncles were overseas in WWll. Yes from francophone ancestry.
I think your history is somewhat lacking in one part. New France took in what was first now known as Quebec city and reached as far as Florida to now Minnesota, to Manitoba. 1534 was when Jacque Cartier planted the cross in the area of Gaspe' peninsula.
The beaver tail dessert I'm positive is a creation out of Ottawa. A truly Quebec dessert is Sugar pie, it's to die for
Yes some of the mountains in Quebec can climb to 4,000 ft. I've traveled and sailed the whole area from Saint Lawrence to Newfoundland.
I can't believe you didn't drive the Gaspe' peninsula route and avoided Gaspe', one of the most scenic places in the country.
When they say wind in the maritimes ,in winter I have been in 200 kilometers per hour.
A great video. I visited Quebec City when crossing Canada by train. It is a beautiful city, I loved it, the people were so friendly and the food wonderful. Looking forward to your visit to PEI. 😊
