*Correction Old Elvet Bridge is older than Framwellgate Bridge, one of the arches is 12th century and others date from the 13th century.*

Piękne, historyczne miasto. Pozdrawiam serdecznie ❤🤗👍
Incredible! Durham is such a beautiful, charming & interesting City! The Cathedral is absolutely magnificent & has such a fascinating history! Totally captivating! The entire City is truly amazing! Thank you for sharing this delightful City, along with such amazing footage & fascinating Commentary!
It's always worth checking if the castle is open as it is used frequently by the University even in holidays
Fabulous video esp for folks like me who haven't been to Durham… but I will certainly be going.
Thank you for the trouble you both go to make these videos available for us viewers. God bless
❤👍❤🌹🌹🥰
It's funny how protesters complain of historical figures and accuse them of oppressive practises, etc. Yet they are the thought police oppressing freedom of speech. So, themselves practising oppression.
Another fantastic video thank you. Better than mainstream tv travel programs. You are very skilled 😊
These little towns are such a delightful way to spend a weekend. I could never get bored if I lived in England! So much history to explore. Thanks again!❤
What a beautiful place. Sick with bronchitis and on a dull grey day, this was particularly wonderful to watch.
Went to see a few tribute bands at the cathedral. From the moment they started I realised why they built the roof that way; acoustics were superb and it was as if the whole ceiling was a speaker. There was no mistake; the bishops words were meant to come from above.
I love that you include maps of the areas you've walked. Thanks!
This was extra special for me. My ancestors dating back to the 1500's lived and died in Durham. It's wonderful to see where they lived, conducted daily lives and raised their children. My grandfather was the first born in the USA. Thank you for letting me join you in sharing this special place.
Just beautiful! Loved all the history about the cathedral. You guys are the best guides for us armchair travelers! Thank you! ❤🌈👍
That pub at the end of the video looked cozy
Drury Lane epitomizes the cold-blooded greed of European tourism. Steps with no handrails, paving in bad condition. Probably no lights. Bring your money and take your chances!
What a gorgeous historical place. I wish I had Dorothy's magical red shoes.
Thank you for your work! Love all of your videos, much appreciated! Best wishes!
Outstanding architecture with wonderful church, I enjoyed watching. No wonder it took 7 yrs, for the result is so worth I loved it. Whole video is so marvelous & perfectly narrated, I learn so much in each video. Thank u both for sharing good stuff as always 😊
I wouldn't worry about not getting into the castle, mate. I grew up in Newcastle and never successfully did so, even though my dad went to Durham School. 😂
That was incredibly beautiful. The whole place is incredible. All those beautiful buildings, totally gorgeous. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
What a lovely tour, guys, thank you. I really like Durham. I think it's one of the best English cities for its architecture and history – and one of the things I love the most is – did you notice?? NO horrible cables and double yellow lines. I don't know where people park, but if you compare it to a town like Rye, it's great for taking pictures of attractive houses and old buildings without the ugliness of cables, signage, spy cameras and barricades of cars ruining the scene! And at night – when we were there some years back, now, the lighting at night is very subdued, maybe it was gas, had the feel – but yes, well worth spending a few days, if not a week, as you can jump off there to plenty of other places of interest.
Oh! from a suddenly stormy Tasmania – thanks, & happy travels. You'll have to go back to visit the Castle, as it is fascinating – I wonder if the student residents appreciate being steeped amidst such history?
Durham looks like a beautiful place filled with stunning old buildings and history. Definitely one for the bucket list, thanks for another great video, much appreciated.
😮👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for the beautiful images of this town!
The cathedrals are very special, it was an unbelievable amount of work to make these works of art.
Also a beautiful area to walk.
The Sanctuary' knocker', correct name Sanctuary Ring is a replica. The original is in the Cathedral's museum.😀
Your Camera works and Editing, both are excellent.
Also your choice for a Guide is a very good taste.
You generated me to come to Burham.
Our lunch stop on the way up to Northumberland, lovely vity with plenty to see and lots of places to eat, but like you say Saturdays in Durham are stupid .
Your videos are always so well done, and I look forward to a new one each week. Thank you for getting up early to show us the unobstructed views of Durham. Also, you happened to mention my surname in this video, which was a thrill for me.
Three thumbs up! Thank you so much for this series and all the fantastic videos you two produce.😊
Terimakasih sudah diajak jalan jalan…
dari Indonesia 🇮🇩🙏🙏💖💖
God bless
The great cathedral was begun during the reign of William 2nd however he seems to have been all but airbrushed out of English history as he is very seldom mentioned. The only time we hear anything about him now is in regard to his mysterious death at only 44 during a hunting expedition though he was a very influential monarch.
