I went to Nemuno-Oka & Nikaho & Montbell Nikaho, the largest roadside station in Tohoku, located in Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture, which is very popular with travelers and drivers!
It has a day spa & free foot bath, and a “breathtaking spot” overlooking the Sea of Japan, which was selected as one of the “100 Best Sunsets in Japan”!
There are many newly opened stores, and the facilities are new and clean😍
And there are lots of delicious foods and agricultural products from Akita,
exquisite dishes and Akita souvenirs are all available😳
If you go to Akita, it’s a power spot you should definitely stop by!
The parking lot🅿️ is large and can accommodate 336 cars for free!
There is also a day spa and a free foot bath,
so you can sleep in your car, making it a very popular spot for campervan travelers and drivers.
It is also recommended to walk to Nemuno-Oka from Kisakata Station in 21 minutes while looking at the coast (free bicycle rentals are available at Kisakata Station). The view is spectacular at sunset.
New Amsterdam Bagel is a take-out bagel shop that opened on June 28, 2024! It is a stylish cafe with a wide range of menu items including burgers, bagels, soups, and cafes.
Montbell Nikaho store opened on June 28, 2024 and is one of the largest Montbells in Tohoku, with a total project cost of 1 billion yen, jointly developed with Nikaho City!
There are about 46,000 outdoor items on a 1,206 square meter site! Stop by before climbing Mt. Chokai! The visitor center attached to the Montbell store offers services such as information on activities around Mt. Chokai, rental of mountain climbing equipment, and bicycle rentals.
The facility has a climbing pinnacle about 8m high, so you can enjoy climbing regardless of the weather. Taking advantage of the location right in front of the sea, kayaking events are also planned!
This is a power spot that you should definitely visit if you go to Akita! The spectacular views, hot springs, and delicious local food will definitely make you feel energized!
