Fantastic journey! Do I read between the lines that a new journey is being planned?
no animals in this one.. right
Trudy Driving on Landing strip ✔️
Amazing drive around the world, It’s been stuck a fantastic time watching you every week. I wish we could go to UK and beg the for the final arrival, unfortunately life happens, Build need to be paid and our house roof had to be replaced and taking lots of money from my savings. Nancy and I will be there in spirit and of course watch the vlog and keep following your vlog and everything else.
Marianne and Chris, your journey has been amazing and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
All my love to both of you.
And , well, Mr Rigers always said “There’s only one like you” Trudy, theres only 1 Trudy. She’s amazing!!! ❤❤❤
Uh, this sad and then happy 😔 Happy that you guys finally fulfilled this wonderful adventure, but sad that is also over🤷🏻♀️ Your videos took me through the "bug" when everything looked so grimmed and uncertain. And
ever since, your videos became like therapy. The world is going through a lot right now, but when people (like you) take the time to show that kindness matters and still does exists, it makes it worthwhile to show it all the way around the world. Thank you guys, all the way from good o'ld Texas. Love, love❤❤
Please don’t feed birds with processed foods like bread etc. It’s not good for them. Rather feed them with organic seeds. “Bread offers wild birds absolutely ZERO nutrition.
Simply, bread fills up a small stomach in a hurry. The bird doesn't know the food is useless, but leaves feeling full and satisfied, nonetheless. This is a deadly combination of factors, considering how many calories birds need to eat in order to survive.”
I cannot believe you didn’t include Cape Town in your African travel
Thank you for taking me to places I've never been. I do believe you have sparked the desire in many you met along this journey, to become nomads or at least van lifers 😆 The enthusiasm on the faces of those at the petrol station were priceless
Loving this, i would like to see if i can do it the other way round, from Zim to Uk and how the authorities, media and locals would react to my adventures
Botswana seems so clean compared to India. I would like to visit Botswana someday happy travels.
Good to see you’re driving Chris. And you didn’t get a ticket Marianne would’ve been mad.
African police are dicks when it comes to the whole respect the police thing. Making you go to him was a power move to show you you are nothing.
If you thought your treatment was bad, spare a thought for the black people who are part of the culture of respect for superiors (and the police consider them superiors)… they will talk ish and abuse you such that by the time you leave you just want to take a shower. Even the videoing you were doing in Zimbabwe, a Zimbabwean gets caught doing that and he has hell to pay.
They fear whites because the assumption tends yo be that you have access to lawyers.
Guys what are WE going to do when your 4 1/2 year travels come to an end i have loved catching up with all you travels So far and saddened as well But Glad to Know that you will be venturing Out In the Not to distant Future….I think most People who have been with you on your travels will feel agree with Marianne's sentiments…Bfn
True, Botswana 🇧🇼 organic chicken is the tastiest e’er 😛…try their Nando’s whilst you’re still around and you’ll ne’er regret your choice 😊!
There's a big smile on my face and a tear in my eye. What a great journey. It's been fun to follow along. Although we didn't always logon to YouTube, we watched the videos every Sunday evening (Smart TV) at dinner time. Look forward to the future of the channel.
Thank you for sharing your travels.
Botswana is great. Fun video. We are planning to do that in reverse SA to Kasane next April. The next leg is next to the Draks. Enjoy
In America, if the police pulls you for speeding, you can ask him for his lock speed gun. If you drive over speed limit, don't ask for his speed gun. Usually, American police pulls over driver for 10 miles over the limit, but don't do it in the small town or Midwest like Kansas. The police will pull you over 5 miles the limit because small town needs to generate money.
Homerton Hospital
Going to miss 😢 these long scenic drives 🚗
I knew that you're going to enjoy Atchaar even before you could munch on it
Is there a reason why u guys have chosen not to drive all the way north of Africa to return to the UK?
Well it’s been fun guys, but as they say. All good things must come to an end.
I knew you two would be back at it. I’m hoping to see you do a year or so in South America.
Starting in Guyana or Suriname and south to the tip of Tierra Del Fuego. Then back through Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.
Just get a Van with larger Tires and Left Hand Drive! 😂😂😂
That’s a lot of Guacamole 🥑 you can make with those Avocados 🥑!
No one wants an Ed Rooney moment!! 🤣😂 I think I would want some mabele in my belly, tho! 😋
The warm reception at the petrol station sure put a smile on our faces! The noise the one man made looking at the loo would make a good computer error noise. 🤣
How nice of Marianne to share the steering wheel. 😉😏 Proof that she doesn't always drive. Very responsible to trade off when one feels fatigued. Plus, it is one of the copilot's duties after all! How did he do, Marianne?
Totally understandable your complex emotions coming up on the end of your expedition. It's been your focus every waking moment (and some sleeping ones, too, I'm sure) for the last 54+ months. Once it's done, what's to be done next? Plan a mah-HOO-sive knees-up is what!! ❤️❤️😎👍xx
You were indeed targeted by that Botswana speedtrap. Then again the police who've been stopping you all throughout your trip have been so friendly and interested in your journey. Hopefully your fine was best spent on the country's struggling education and healthcare systems. Safe travels 🤗
57:30 Yes it's Afrikaans
IM MY OPINION, THAT ELEPHANT AT THE SUNSET PICTURE IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PICTURES FROM MY COUNTRY BOTSWANA 🇧🇼 🇧🇼 AND I SAW IT HERE❤👌🏾
JUST ADVICE: Next time you see an oncoming car flashing lights to you during the day, slow down and maintain the speed limit. That is a warning sign that there are traffic cops with a speed trap in front. Batswana are generally nice people, they warn each other about speed traps to help one avoid losing money through a fine.😅😅😅
❤❤❤❤❤
Marianne and Chris, in all good conscience I do not think I can continue to follow a channel presented by fugitives from the law 🤣 🚐… 🚓… 🤣
Yes you did speed, but that was a shakedown by any measure.
We have thoroughly enjoyed sharing your journey through YouTube. If we can make the journey up to Telford we will sign up but if not we look forward to your next adventures as I know you two can never sit still for long.
Why do these white people go to Africa think and do what, they like man!
Cant believe we have been following your journey for four and a half years , how scary is that, it seems to have flown by we have really enjoyed every one thanks Mick & Jo xx
You Guys are amazing… you always find the most obscure, but most beautiful camping grounds!!
How do you find so many in your travels! haha ! Love it!
Speeding ticket in Botswana ! Hope you've framed it ! worth £50 easy.
Loved your videos and have watched them like many others from the start. Sunday evenings are going to be strange without joining you on your adventures. Cant wait until you are off on your travels again. Time for a bit of R&R for Trudy and yourselves. Enjoy being home and back with your family but dont leave it too long until your next adventure. Yoy are so lucky to have been able to do this epic journey and we are lucky to have been able to join you!!!
welcome to africa,
"Here in Telford" ?🤔😄
Next time please come to Cape Town
Oh wow. I live in Heidelberg. Would’ve been awesome coming across you! 🙃
Looks like you were so happy to be back in South Africa. The police stop appears to have shaken Marianne as it would many people. Chin up, you've driven across the world, a true inspiration to all women drivers. We can't wait for you to take us on your next adventure.
SA in a 4×4 ✅
I wonder if you'll pass by th spot where they made the movie, "Out of Africa" with Meryl Sweep and Rober Redford. Wouldn't that be fun to get a photo of that farm the original family of that story, shared. Enjoying your trip as you glide through amazing Africa. TY.
I did not follow you from the beginning but need to ask if you went to Cape Town as well?
You probably do not reallize what an amazing kick it will be for us outside the UK/EU, to be.introduced to the UK and Europe the same way. Millions and millions of us will never be able to travel.
