Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima (福島県会津若松) – Aizu Tsuruga Higashiyama Sohonzan (会津鶴我東山総本山) Breakfast
We had a private breakfast at Aizu Tsuruga Higashiyama Sohonzan (会津鶴我東山総本山), a luxury property in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture (福島県会津若松) that only serves one group of guests per day, which allows it to offer an intimate experience that properties with multiple guest rooms cannot hope to match.
Sohonzan has two areas – a main house that has three stories as well as another building that serves as a reception and tea ceremony room. It also has a large and gorgeous garden with lush (and well maintained) vegetation and a pretty pond with Koi fish inside. Everything is traditional Japanese, until you get to the living quarters. Here, it’s very modern Japanese, with the latest technologies and amenities, including electronically-controlled curtains, glass windows and heated tatami floors.
