柳州市位於廣西中北部，地形為“三江四合，抱城如壺”，亦稱為“壺城”。
柳州全市總面積1.86萬平方公里，其中市區面積3,554平方公里，建成區面積281.92平方公里，2020年底常住人口415.7934萬，其中市區常住人口251.9051萬。常住人口中少數民族人口比例超過五成，達56.4%，其中壯族佔少數民族人口的64.1%，各族通行國語的同時講西南官話。自西元前111年，漢武帝滅南越國建立潭中縣城以來，柳州已經有超過2,100年建城史，是國務院批准的歷史文化名城和國家甲級旅遊城市。市民政府駐城中區文昌路66號。
溫家寶曾經為柳州題詞「山青水秀地乾淨」。柳州人口在中國城市排名第55位，相當於德國的紐倫堡及美國的坦帕。
柳州是中國乃至東亞最重要的古人類化石發現場所之一。
舊石器時代：柳江人可能是東亞迄今所發現的最早的晚期智人，生存年代目前尚無確切數據，依據鈾係法測定的結果，最小值為距今約6.7萬年，最大值距今約22.7萬年─10.1萬年。與日本舊石器時代晚期人類可能有一定關係。甘前岩遺址也出土了人牙化石十多枚，屬舊石器時代晚期，與柳江人時代相近，有蒙古人種特徵。白蓮洞遺址下層為舊石器時代遺址，白蓮洞人約生活在5萬年前，其生活地點考古發掘出石器500多件、人牙化石2枚、動物骨葉草化石3,500多件、人類用火遺跡2處。該地建有中國第一個洞穴博物館，為國家重點文物保護單位。屬於此時代的遺址還有：都樂岩遺址、柳江週洞遺址及鯉魚嘴下層。
中石器時代：時間距今1.8─1萬年左右。由鯉魚嘴遺址發掘的大龍潭人骨距今約12,000─7,000年，同樣為國家重點文物保護單位。屬於這時代的遺址還有：柳江思多岩遺址、陳家岩遺址、白蓮洞第三、第二文化層、鯉魚嘴文化層中部。這類遺址除洞穴遺址外，還出現了岩廈式遺址。
新石器時代：時間距今1~0.6萬年左右。新石器時代的遺址較多，蘭家村遺址屬於新石器時代早期，遺址陶片分佈密集，共發現943件，紋飾多為拍印的粗繩紋。屬於這時代的遺址還有：白蓮洞上文化層、鯉魚嘴上文化層、響水遺址、鹿谷嶺遺址、公店村遺址。

Liuzhou City is located in the central and northern part of Guangxi. Its terrain is “three rivers and four confluences, embracing the city like a pot”, also known as “Pot City”.
Liuzhou has a total area of 18,600 square kilometers, of which the urban area is 3,554 square kilometers and the built-up area is 281.92 square kilometers. At the end of 2020, the permanent population was 4,157,934, of which the urban permanent population was 2,519,051. The proportion of ethnic minorities in the permanent population exceeded 50%, reaching 56.4%, of which the Zhuang ethnic group accounted for 64.1% of the ethnic minority population. All ethnic groups speak Mandarin and Southwestern Mandarin. Since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty destroyed the Nanyue Kingdom and established Tanzhong County in 111 BC, Liuzhou has a history of more than 2,100 years of city construction. It is a historical and cultural city approved by the State Council and a national first-class tourist city. The Municipal People’s Government is located at No. 66, Wenchang Road, Chengzhong District.
Wen Jiabao once wrote an inscription for Liuzhou: “The mountains are green, the waters are beautiful, and the land is clean.” Liuzhou’s population ranks 55th among Chinese cities, equivalent to Nuremberg in Germany and Tampa in the United States.
Liuzhou is one of the most important sites for the discovery of ancient human fossils in China and even in East Asia.
Paleolithic Age: Liujiang Man may be the earliest late Homo sapiens discovered in East Asia so far. There is no exact data on the age of survival. According to the results of uranium series determination, the minimum value is about 67,000 years ago and the maximum value is about 227,000-101,000 years ago. It may have a certain relationship with the late Paleolithic humans in Japan. More than ten human tooth fossils were unearthed at the Ganqianyan site, which belong to the late Paleolithic Age, similar to the age of Liujiang Man, and have Mongoloid characteristics. The lower layer of the Bailian Cave site is a Paleolithic site. The Bailian Cave Man lived about 50,000 years ago. Archaeological excavations at his living site have unearthed more than 500 stone tools, 2 human tooth fossils, more than 3,500 animal bone fossils, and 2 human fire remains. The first cave museum in China was built here, which is a national key cultural relic protection unit. Other sites belonging to this era include: Duleyan Site, Liujiang Zhoudong Site and Liyuzui Lower Layer.

自駕遊的行程很容易掌握但地道美食人多每次都不願花時間等如留待下次再來時才食豈不更浪費金錢和時間算起來不花算還弄很趕忙似的失走自駕游的意義如時常按即時間行事那不如坐高鐵等公交車更好起也不為了找有停車位的酒店:煩惱要好好利用自己駕車的優勢才是😂

我地七月份一放假也去咗柳州，感觉癫🐔比广州好好多，行係人行路上至少唔使担心随时旁边有嘢飞过🤣🤣听讲佢地抓罚比较严。柳州打车好平，除咗去白莲洞博物馆接近20蚊，其它都系几蚊到十鲮蚊到
