【AICHI JAPAN】UDON Noodle Tour in Toyohashi (Summer)

Introducing recommended gourmet spots in Toyohashi City, Aichi, Japan. This time, we visited udon noodles restaurants in Toyohashi and featured “Koro-Nikake”, a traditional udon from the “Mikawa” region. We also introduce the popular and recommended products of each restaurant. In this video, you will find many cold noodles that you will want to eat in the hot season♪ We introduce three restaurants: first “Yudamari Soba An”, then “Men-ya Matsufuku”, and finally “Shinshu-an Koike Branch”.

“Nikake udon” is a representative udon of the “Mikawa” region including Toyohashi, but “Koro Nikake”, which has chilled noodles and soup, is especially popular in the hot season. “Koro” is a word that means cold and is used in the “Chukyo” region including Toyohashi.

At “Yudamari Soba An,” you can find maneki-neko (beckoning cats) on the restaurant sign and throughout the old Japanese style interior. The signature dish is “Yudamari Soba.” It’s a rare dish where you can enjoy soba and sobayu together. Although it’s a soba restaurant, they also have a wide selection of udon dishes.

“Men-ya Matsufuku” is a restaurant where you can eat various types of noodles, including udon, soba, kishimen, and hiyamugi. The signature dish is “Tempura Tarai Udon.” The tempura makes a great sound and the noodles are arranged in a tub, making it a dish that can be enjoyed with all five senses.

“Shinshu-an Koike Branch” is a restaurant with a wonderful Japanese atmosphere, including the building, garden, and decorations. The signature dish is “Kasane Ten Zaru.” It’s a luxurious dish that is very satisfying, where you can enjoy both soba and udon served in a cool-looking zaru.

    本店の店舗裏に麺打ち場があり
    全ての店舗の麺を打ってると聞かきました…

  2. 以前信州庵小池店の近くに住んでいてよく食べに行きました。

    東小池町の柳生川沿いにあるお店ですよね。

    結構分かりにくい場所にあるのですが、いつもお店にお客さんがいっぱいでした。

    オシャレなお店で接客も良くておいしいんですよね。

    ランチのセットメニューに付いてくる茶碗蒸しがお気に入りでした。

    豊橋では冷たいころうどんや蕎麦のおかげで夏場でも麺類を食べる機会が多かったのは良い思い出です。
