京都・祇園祭 車輪が割れて途中で引き返す鶏鉾（2024年7月17日 京都市内） Niwatori-hoko float turns back midway due to a broken wheel
【2024祇園祭】祇園祭前祭（さきまつり）の山鉾巡行が2024年7月17日、京都市内中心部で行われた。9番目を進んでいた鶏鉾（京都市下京区室町通綾小路上ル）で、左後輪の外周部材「大羽」の1枚が割れるトラブルが起きた。巡行を途中で切り上げ、引き返した。
午前10時5分ごろ、四条通を東へ進んでいたところ、車輪が割れるような音がしたため、下京区四条通柳馬場東入ルで急きょ停止。道を空けて、後続の山や鉾が追い抜いてゆく珍しい情景が見られた。
The Gion Festival’s Yamahoko procession took place in central Kyoto on July 17, 2024. The Niwatori-hoko (Muromachi-dori Ayakoji-agaru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto), which was proceeding ninth, encountered a problem in which one of the outer components of the left rear wheel, the “Oba”, broke. The procession was cut short and the float turned back.
At around 10:05 a.m., while proceeding east on Shijo-dori, the float heard a sound like a wheel breaking, and suddenly stopped at Shijo-dori Yanagi-no-maba Higashi-iru, Shimogyo-ku. The float cleared the way, and the following Yama and Hoko floats overtook them, creating an unusual scene.
