Shiratsuruhama Beach Takahamakita, Amakusa Town, Amakusa City Description of Shiratsuruhama Beach. The west coast of Amakusa Shimo Island is known for its crystal clear waters (the East China Sea) and beautiful capes and rock reefs formed by nature. Among these coastlines is a beach that has been selected by the Ministry of the Environment as one of the "100 Best Swimming Beaches." There are only three selected locations in Kumamoto Prefecture. One of them is Shiratsuruhama Beach in Amakusa Town, Amakusa City. The name comes from the fact that its shape resembles a white crane with its wings spread. The approximately 1.0 km long natural white sand beach and extremely clear waters are highly rated by beachgoers, with many repeat visitors. There are also areas with high waves where you can enjoy marine sports such as surfing and jet skiing. At the northern end of the beach is Jusanbutsu Park, a cliff-top park with a great view. In the evening, you can see the "Sunset at Jusanbutsu Park," which has been selected as one of the 100 Best Sunsets in Japan and one of the Eight Best Sunsets in Amakusa. Today I’m at Shiratsuruhama Beach in Amakusa Town, Amakusa City. I came here to introduce Shiratsuruhama Beach, a popular beach in Amakusa. I would love to see the deserted beach from the sky during the off-season. Please enjoy for a while. Let’s take off! First, let’s go see the Jusanbutsu rock reefs on the north side of the beach. Jusanbutsu rock reefs It’s a bit disappointing that the weather isn’t so good, unfortunately. If the weather is clear, the beautiful ocean will look even bluer and more beautiful. From now on, the blue summer sky will spread out and the scenery will look even more beautiful. There is an observation deck in Jusanbutsu Park. If you get tired of swimming at the beach, it’s a good idea to visit this place. Then back to the beach. This is Shiratsuruhama Beach. It is a natural white sand beach measuring approximately 1.0 km.
