荻野さんと井さんです オールドでのえっとカウンター席で朝食と 昼食はあの頂いてますでこれはえ何 でしょうはいえこちらの方がですねえ吉の クも入りましたおそばになります吉のくず そばほはいはいそしてこちらがえイカの様 アリカのえ生姜とあの図になります生姜 入った図形になりますはいこちらの方がえ 先ほどのあの大砲豆腐大砲大鉄砲での大豆 で作りました厚揚げあ小松などの煮浸しに なりますはいはいでお好みであのそばの中 にわさび本わさびと大根おろしおねぎの方 をご用意しておりますはいはいで後ほど あの豆ご飯水塩道のご飯書きましたので そちらの方お待ちしますのではいそちらの えお漬け物としましてえカブのお漬け物カ のおつけ物このこの吉のクのそばっていう のはあのどれぐらいの割合なんですか割合 はね入ってはいないんですけどもうん少し 入ってる程度やっぱりほとんどはやっぱり 小麦になるのかなそうですねこのになって はいそばに対しまして大3割ほどうはい あと靴がちょっとね割合い書いてないん ですけどもはいもっちりとした感じの食感 になっておりますふじゃあま食べてみて はい多分あの味と香りと感も違うと思うの でほどまたあのこちらの方のりのおうどん の方はいあうどんも出るのねはいじゃあ お腹を考えていただきますはい荻野さんに 天ぷらを作ってもらってますこれが長崎け さんのはいキスです ねいただきますでこれはかぼちゃとはい ちょっとあの時期的に早いんですけども ノガさんからはいあのいいたかぼちゃと耳 アスパラガスになりますはいでこれは豆 ご飯ですねはい豆ご飯 うんこれどこで取った豆なんですかあ私が 作った豆です ほお今はお休みの方は妙がと新生姜と 青ねぎになりますはい何し新生姜新生姜 はいはいはい明がと生姜がああ明が生姜ネ 青ねぎでございます青ねぎでくずうどん はいくうどんになりますうんでこのあ違う つよね 今度で豆 ご飯いただきます
We were served a private lunch at NEOLD Private House (ネオールド プライベートハウス, http://www.neold.co.jp), a luxury ryokan located in historic Yoshino, Nara Prefecture, which is less than 2 hours by car from Osaka. NEOLD only accepts one group of guests per stay in an effort to provide a bespoke experience for its customers. There is no set limit on the group size, although management said up to (about) 10 people can comfortably spend time together at NEOLD Private House.
Kimihiro Ogino, the Director of NEOLD and the Chef, served up excellent meals, including Kuzu Soba (葛蕎麦) and Kuzu Udon (葛うどん) noodles, both of which are made with Kudzu (葛 – Arrowroot) starch.
While guests can certainly take advantage of NEOLD as a place to stay, the ryokan’s true calling card is in the variety of experiences that it offers. This includes Geisha/Maiko interactions, tea ceremony, Noh (traditional Japanese theater) / Kyogen (a comedic form of Noh) / Tezuma (traditional Japanese magic) performances, Shaminsen (traditional string instrument), Ninja and Samurai training and cosplay, “Himesama” (Princess) cosplay, Calligraphy, Cooking classes and even fishing excursions on the Yoshino River (followed by a BBQ of the freshly-caught fish.) NEOLD even offers an opportunity to fulfill one’s dream of becoming a Shogun or Ninja – there are various options, such as the ability to dress up as a Lord (and his Princess) or Ninja, and even be filmed engaging in a short battle sequence.
As part of the optional Shogun Experience (将軍体験), we were given a Lord’s welcome and even got to dress up as a Shogun and Princess. And all of the staff were dressed up as our vassals. Here is the battle action scene that was choreographed during our time at NEOLD: https://youtu.be/p9agktpxOzU
