    It is such a treat to be able to witness the Takayama festival. Like to know a little more about the festival. Will look it up to find out more about the festivals. Enjoy the traditional costumes. I noticed an older lady gave money to the participant. Is that traditional?

    In our culture during Chinese New Year when the lion dancer dance in front of your business to ward off evil spirits so that your business will have good fortune for the new year. We would give them a red envelope with money in it. 🧧As always you captured the mood of the event.

    I visited Takayama and went to the museum where these dashi are kept . They are amazing . I would love to visit sometime during this festival
