Mangi Castle Ruins Park
morning everyone welcome back to my channel um headed out for uh another trip and uh I’ll be Crossing uh in a minute um over the uh Rainbow Bridge here as you can see today’s trip um I’m heading to Chiba I haven’t been to Chiba for a very long time Chiba is usually the destination uh that we motorbike Riders uh like to ride uh in the winter period because the elevation is not as high and therefore not as cold um it’s marvelous weather today um so I could have easily gone a higher elevation but the reason why I’m heading to Cha is um a few weeks ago on television um I found an island uh just off the coast of uh Chiba uh that I found quite intriguing and very interested about so um I can uh elaborate a little bit more on the uh the island uh that I’m heading out to um once I get out there um so uh yeah really uh really interesting on the way down there I’m going to be uh stopping at a mitoi a mitoi is a a government designated rest area um for who are traveling car commuting and um it’s also a great place uh where you typically can find some local produce um or as we would say in the Western World a farmers market um so I’m going to be checking out that as well um on my way over there um yes I hope you guys uh come along on this journey and enjoy this episode so I’ll speak to you guys um in a bit again thanks guys so I’ve just entered uh under to the uh Aqua tunnel uh this tunnel takes me under uh Tokyo bay and um probably about a few kilometers before we actually get on the other side of Tokyo bay into the cheaper perfecture it comes out of the tunnel and you get a spectacular view um of the bay itself uh it’s been a while I’ve been down here and usually it’s uh pretty heavily congested um but it looks like uh traffic jams today which is a pleasant surprise great to hear 7 more km and I’m out of this uh tunnel so I just got out of the tunnel here and uh heading over to kisarazu on the chi area not as clear as I’d hoped for but uh always great to get out here quite windy today [Music] oh [Music] a [Music] hey all I’ve arrived at the M noi that I mentioned which is kind of like the uh the farmers market uh which are designated rest areas uh by the government um lovely uh site here I’m going to go in in a minute and uh have a look around uh see if I find anything uh nice and tasty and uh maybe a cup of coffee as well uh so today’s trip I’m going to be heading uh to the uh east coast of Chiba to an island called nimon Jima Island um it’s got some great history there um today I’m also testing some new equipment I’ve gone and purchased myself um the road wireless microphones um as you can see I’ve got situated here um cuz I did notice on one of the recent trips that I was uh uh filming that um it’s difficult for the GoPro to pick up all of the audio uh as I’m talking it’s quite uh uh windy at the moment so I’ve got the cat fur on and hopefully that’s going to be blocking the wind um at the same time as well uh there is an automotive Channel that I follow uh where the guy is walking around the entire day and he’s got this clipped uh to his hat uh so I thought I’d give it a try um to see whether or not get any Improvement uh on the audio as well this one apparently is uh well known this minoi for its uh supply of fresh eggs um and but the looks of those yellow yolks up there looks uh fantastic wish I could bring them back home on a motorbike amazing great produce I always enjoy stopping off at these potatoes cabbages um mandarines onions broccoli you got jams here marmalades that have be [Music] made as I mentioned guys this is all local produce this is quite an interesting map um of Tokyo as you can see so I live around about in this location so this morning I’ve come down on this road here which is the one gun Road past Anita airport and this is the aqua line the tunnel that goes under uh uh Tokyo uh bay uh thankfully not uh very congested today and then come down the motorway a little bit down here and then taken a tour off and I’m round about in this location here which is the mchi and then I’m going to proceed on to uh Nimo Jima Island uh which is located around here uh good to see it on this map as well [Music] h well that was uh a fail uh unfortunately uh the wind has picked up and um the small boat that would be taking me to uh Nimo Jima Island um is not uh sailing today for obvious reasons it’s only a small like uh rowboat that they take you across on so um I’m heading off um up to uh a castle now at the moment and this Castle is a branch from the minamoto family so the um the person’s um Island I just wanted to visit back down there um this is then a castle of the branch so I can probably uh share a little bit more information once uh once I’m there um but yeah uh this this is going to be uh probably uh I’m going to have to try and get back there some other day um in the future uh to see where I can get across uh when the sea is a little bit more uh uh calmer don’t worries um it’s uh 23° today out on the motorbike so one cannot complain I’m definitely having a [Music] [Music] ball [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah [Music] there is the castle that’s the castle I wanted to visit oh now reached the top of where the castle would have stood in 1412 uh this Castle was built by the Toki Clan there’s nothing left of it unfortunately it’s completely in Ruins uh it was destroyed during some very Fierce battles in 1591 from the ongoing raging Wars between the various Clans uh that would have been situated here in this uh area so what the um the local government has done is they’ve Resurrected this beautiful Tower here in 1992 to give you a view of what it would look like from the top of the Castle Towers and we just stood here in awe how beautiful it was to look on the [Music] nature [Music] [Music]
万木城跡公園
I made the journey out to Chiba to attempt to cross the sea to get on to Niemonjima Island, unfortunately due to high seas I could not make and went on my way to Mangi Castle Ruins Park.
海を渡って、千葉にある仁右衛門島に行こうと旅に出たのだけど、残念ながら高波の為断念… その帰り道、万木城跡公園に向かいました。

The view from the top of Mangi castle hill reminded me of the scenery of old rural areas of Japan that I saw when I was a kid. You are discovering nice places in Japan riding around, which is good.
Another great video my friend, loved the view from where the castle would have been and what a tunnel that was! The Rode set-up looks interesting… I think I will have to investigate! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks for Mangi castle grounds tour 👍
Awesome day out! Thanks for sharing, do I detect a Victorian accent there mate ?
