Chikubu Island & Nagahama, Lake Biwa 竹生島と長浜市
A day trip to Chikubu Island located in the middle of the largest lake in Nippon, Lake Biwa. There we visited the 1300 year old Hogon Shrine and made wishes and prayers as the island gods seem to grant people’s wishes.
We then made our way back to Nagahama to have a warm bowl of Noppo Udon Momijiya and sweets at Cafe Kano Shojuan. But the highlight of the day was our tour around Daitsu Temple. We paid ¥500 to enter the depths of the temple to see the amazing interior of the temple. I highly recommend it and it’s definitely worth the price of admission.
日本最大の湖、琵琶湖の真ん中に浮かぶ竹生島への日帰り旅行。 1300年の歴史を持つ宝厳神社を参拝し、島の神様が人々の願いを叶えてくれるようなので、願掛けをした。
そして長浜に戻り、つるやパンでサラダパン、熱々のっぽうどんを茂美志やで、そしてとカフェ叶 匠壽庵 スイーツを食べた。 しかし、この日のハイライトは大通寺のツアーだった。 500円を払って神殿の奥に入り、素晴らしい内部を見学した。 入場料を払う価値はある。
