It’s been about 60 years since it opened, and more and more people don’t know that there was a fee to cross it back then, but now you can cross it for free. National Route 266, which connects with Five Bridge, is affectionately known as the Amakusa Pearl Line, named after the area where pearl cultivation is popular. It is also part of Unzen Amakusa National Park, and is a scenic spot with calm waves and many large and small islands floating in front of you. This time, I would like to focus on the Amakusa Five Bridge, which is used when crossing to Amakusa Kami Island and Shimo Island, and introduce the surrounding scenery starting from Bridge No. 1.
