  1. U shd try the black pepper beef hor fun instead of the rice coz the hor fun has a lot of wok hei and taste much better

  2. Should have gone to Hong Lim too. I like ❤the Morning Bak Kut Teh Stall in the corner 1st Level I and the braise duck rice on 2nd level. But the queue is for the Char Kway Teow on the second level. White Chicken Curry noodle on 1st level also has a long queue.😊😊😊

  3. カレーパフの店J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff#01-21

  5. U should try Mr Batang Fish soup, unit 02-96 , at Amoy! Thick cut fish slice, very comforting. Their chilli is also very good! Shiok is the word!

  6. Ojisan, I think you walk the long way, you can short cut by going thru ann siang park down to Amoy hawker centres way. Maybe next time you try

  7. Beach Rd hawker got good stuff too. I liked purvis street chicken rice

  8. This is a very popular and known hawker centre amongst locals! Far opposite from being under-rated. So many excellent food choices there. Just simple google about food at this hawker centre you will see many popular local food bloggers' recommendations. You need to follow local food bloggers more lol. Anyway Amoy is very well-known for many many yes. It is super crowded during lunch time, long queues at most stalls. Hence people working around the area will try to go out earlier for lunch if possible. Pepper beef hor fun has lots of wok hei. Rice would not be able to taste wok hei. There's a hainan kopi stall selling charcoal toasted home made kaya bread at the second level as well. A super popular chee cheong fun and yam cake etc kueh stall at level 1 that sells out super super early. The duck noodles looks too "light" and watery in colour and taste. Not typical braised duck noodles I see and eat. And they use a thicker rice noodle. You can't rank and say that a dish like duck noodles is nice for example, if you have not try out more of the same dish in other stalls.

Mike Chen went there before too. As long as the hawker is walking distance to MRT it will be accessible.

  9. Ghib San why u take TE line & get out at Maxwell MRT Stn. Should take EW line get out at Tanjong Pagar Stn exit G (Telok Ayer Park) next to Capital Tower, it’s much nearer.

  10. I am a long fan of the black pepper beef Hor Fun. Their Wok Hei is really gao gao. Look at the fire brewing in the pan as the hawker cooked his dish. Put in a half cooked egg and the dish taste heavenly. Be prepared for a long queue though especially during lunch time.

  11. When Mr Ghib paused for a moment & sd “Spicy Wife” stall? Sounds like my wife, I laughed & almost fall off the chair 😅

  12. Amongst the locals and people working in CBD area, this market is definitely one of the most popular hawkers in Singapore. It has many popular and tasty dishes there. ❤

  13. This is definitely NOT an under-rated hawker LAHH!!!😂 Amoy is very well known and us always crowded like mad!!!

They are famous for the atas wanton mee, char kway teow and mutton soup on the ground floor, and the fish soup and spicy wife nasi lemak – there's also a very good Uptown Nasi Lemak nearby that area 😂

  14. We used to go to Maxwell Hawker Centre for breakfast as most of the stalls were from China Street Market(Far East Square now).
I live in China Street from childhood.
We seldom go there now as it was crowded with Tourists! 4:13

  15. Yes this is popular but not in everyone go to for good food. Weekday is crowded with nearby office workers. Not many stalls open on weekend.

  16. From the beginning of the video, if turn left from Maxwell market, reach the top at Ann Siang Hill, turn right and go down the winding stairs, at the bottom, there is an old well not use anymore, turn right pass the small temple and Amoy market,
Most of the old timers in the market have retired, I have heard residents from the past along amoy streets, lower down the pail from the higher floors with their coins and fish up the kok kok noodles from the hawker downstairs.
Many years later, the authorities built amoy market and the local hawker moved in, but sadly the old timers are mostly retired by today.

  17. Can you just be old style order the food from the open stall? Why only follow the food guild, be more adventurous! Not popular and underrated? It all depends upon the timing! Go around without any trying, really biased and unwise.
