Van Life Winter Camping in Snow Storm, Blizzard. Stranded in Extreme Weather, Freezing Cold #vanlife

Surviving my First Arctic Winter of Extreme Van Life. Solo in Hurricane, Blizzard, Snow Storm & Camping in Extreme Cold Freezing Temperatures. After having reached the end of the Frozen worlds, I end up getting trapped in blizzards, snow storms and avalanches for 4 days at the end of the world. This was the most annoying storm I have ever experienced in my van, it was just wearing me down. Spectacular sights though. I cook some burrito burgers and have a lot of coffee of course. The arctic ocean is stunning in all its might and natural power!

My van is a Fiat Ducato, FWD with Nokian Hakkapalitta studless Winter Tires. This is the same as a Ram Promaster in America – USA and Canada.

Surviving my 2nd Winter of Extreme Van Life, Blizzard, Snow Storm Camping & Freezing Cold which includes:
This is my complete second winter of Winter Van Life in extreme conditions in the North, living in a van during freezing temperatures. Starting in November I go through the whole winter season of snowy winter adventures from November to April, with snow storms, blizzards, extreme cold, extreme snowfall, slippery roads and some amazing winter beauty as well.
I also show you what I learn as I go from my second winter in the van.

About me: I am a Norwegian adventurer and wilderness explorer. My youtube channel focus on outdoor wilderness adventures and exploration, backpacking, hiking, canyoneering, skiing, climbing and mountaineering. Nights spent in a tent, alone or with friends. From the snow covered mountains and misty fjords of Norway and Scandinavia to the remote plateaus of Yellowstone and the debts of the red canyons of Utah to the summit of Mt Whitney and the heart of Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. I love the Wilderness! Email is under “For business inquiries”, for general questions please comment on a video, I try to answer everyone.

  1. While my heart was thumping like crazy as you were driving through the storm and I could feel your frustration and misery, your video was magical ❤ Quality and the absolute best.
If you heading Finland and Russian border side, would you consider going north to Lapland?

  2. A suggestion get some earplugs. its makes it easier to sleep. Feels like we are all ther with you., great filming. thank you for sharing.

  3. Hello Arctic Jarl, master of the elements 🙂 It was a great wind, the van was shaking 🙂 How strong was the wind?

  4. CHE VIDEO MERAVIGLIOSO, però dovevi mostrare le temperature interne al caravan ed esterne

  5. Trying one of your burger meals tonight, enjoyed the video, good place to be in a storm, next to a supermarket, regards from Leeds Yorkshire England

  6. Great video , hoping it’s not that stormy when I head up there next winter , if it is it is , just love the feel of it in winter thanks for sharing 👍🏻

  7. Great video. Great impressions of a great landscape. Reminds me again of the Lofoten and Bleik. Wind force 7 is great for falling asleep. Wind force 9 to 10 is not so good, because it's already too strong and too shaky. (Sleeping for maybe 15 minutes at a time). I know that… I've written about it before. It's time for spring… 😉

Have you ever been to Hamningberg? And another good tool, do you have or know the Omnia? (It's basically a round oven for camping stoves… check it out!) – Cheers!

  8. Oh, great! I just realized you eat your dinners while editing drone footage. Now my dumb brain is going to project munching sounds over the nice footage, haha. I also own this flipper you use, so, there, now I have paid you back—you will be doing your "hamburger" trick and think, "Well. That random guy in Canada also has this flipper???" and wonder why your brain did that. Enjoy! Haha. I would love to know more about your drone experiences in the extreme cold. Have you ever had it shut down and you had to trek to find it? That happened to me with my Air.

EDIT: Did I just see a place where there once was a huuuuuge avalanche? That place with the tall tower? Big, famous YT video.

  9. Up until now I've never seen you annoyed, not even slightly. It must've been a rough night in that pounding snow storm. On the bright side, this is what makes a good content for us – one of the main reasons people watch these videos is facing the adversity through a screen. Sunny videos are way less popular than videos in rain/snow conditions:-)

  10. Scarey but beautiful scenery at the same time .Very brave of you to travel on those roads with the blowing snow.
Thanks for the wonderful video stay safe and warm.
    ♥♥♥♥

  11. Love these videos and a great adventure not just for you but also for all who watch. Keep up the great work from uk

  12. We were in Alta and Tromso in February and I realized that no photo can really do the fjords justice. I was awestruck. Norway is the most beautiful place we have visited to date. Retired in 2022 after 40 years behind a desk and loving every second of exploring as many places as we can while our health is good. Thanks for the videos. Cannot wait to return.

  13. Following two guys in the US who live full time in their vans. One drives to extreme areas and has a Mercedes Sprinter, 4×4, off-road worthy. The other a Ram, front wheel drive only so he’s more selective on where he goes. Your van appears to be only front wheel drive, am I correct? If so, was there a particular reason you opted out of a 4 wheel version other than higher cost? Just came across your channel and subscribed. Best of luck

  14. I'm less than half way through the video. I feel like I'm in Norway. It's so beautiful and peaceful. I have friends who hate winter. In my book they are really missing out!

  15. Jarl Sami are residents of Lapland and also live in the Russian north. The northern peoples of Russia are still nomadic and live in plagues. Please write answers if there is a translator in Russian.

  16. Great video as always. Sorry you got trapped but the payoff in scenery seemed worth it…just so beautiful in the Arctic. Do you have any special modifications to your van for operating in such extreme weather conditions?

  17. I think I would enjoy the shaking of the van and the howling of the wind to lull me into a deep and dreamless sleep…😊 Thank you for sharing this adventure…

  18. Not much for motorcycling this time of year. Interesting to North Cape when it's pretty tough. Brave fishermen. That looks like 80 or 90 mph winds coming over those bluffs… Brutal. Hunker down time. Makes my metal knee ache. Better have some duct tape and heavy cardboard when that sunroof flies off. Was that seals swimming around in the harbor? You couldn't be trapped in a much more beautiful place. Beautiful skies and sunsets glistening gold light on the waves. Really good vid. Much enjoyed. Yeah some of the Fin and Russian border country. Up there. Take care Jarl.

  19. Very exciting to see the North Cape of Europe and the beautiful snowy countryside, glad to see you caught some of the northern lights. I hope you can complete the journey to the east.👍
